[It's been a few days, people have recovered. Some better off than others. And today MANTICORE is gathered to deal and talk about what happened.]

[ A pause. There's something else working at his mind, though. Ever since he got back, he'd been occasionally catching himself having... darker ideas. ]

Or we could grab one of them, tear that stupid helmet off and make him talk.

[ All said casually without a hint of doubt or remorse, as if he's been doing things like that every day. ]

[There's a long pause as he looks at Squalo.]

You sound different.

[ He stares back, a small scoff on his face. Looks normal enough at least. ]

...What?

[wounds]

That's the first time I've heard you consider torture.

[sharktrash]

[ He blinks a couple of times, leaning back in incredulity. But now that he thinks about it... Genos is right, isn't he? That's... not really like him. That's not what an artistic soul would suggest. His frown turns slightly defensive. ]

Well, this is also the first time I almost got stabbed to death. Fucking excuse me if I'm a bit on edge.

[ ...which is all nice and fine, but no, most people's allignment doesn't just switch due to their situation or life and death experience. ]

[Who are they really? Who are they supposed to be?

He sighs curls up on his bed.]

We're all on edge now.

[ ~*~TIME WILL TELL.~*~ ]

[ Squalo will echo the sigh, but he's willing to let it be now, even if some part of him is insisting that if they want results, they should see about getting that plan into working as soon as possible. ]

...yeah.

[ A moment later, there's a quiet; ]

I don't want to die.

As long as we're here, we just need to be careful.

We can't step on the CEO's toes.

Right.

[ He's still wondering, though. Wouldn't it be "the right thing" if, like they theorized before, they're "meant" to be somehow different. Does he care about doing the right thing? Especially if it means giving up his life? ]

[ No, not really. He'd much rather stay right here, crazy CEOs and all. ]

Mind if I stay here for a bit?

[For Genos, he just wants his real body back. Flesh and blood is stifling and it takes forever to heal. Metal repairs don't take nearly as long.

If he's as reckless as his memories say, staying in this body would likely end in his death. Somehow.]

[ Understandable. Similar to how Squalo feels about his left arm, really. But can they really pick and choose? Take the bits they want and push away the ones they don't? Maybe it's too early to answer this. ]

[ His face looks considerably brighter and he even glances at his bandmate for a moment before stretching and yawning as if they didn't just have this Very Deep Talk or whatever. He'll probably doze off in a moment. ]
