The night club Maxxie rents out is in the heart of the downtown, sticking out like a sore thumb with its front entrance looking more like a museum than a club. There's a red carpet leading up the steps, with bodyguards littered about to keep the paparazzi and troublemakers at arm's length. No one with a recognizable face will be turned away from entering the club, and even through the giant, heavy doors there's a distinct baseline and a hint of flashing lights from the dance floor.

Said dance floor is the first step once you're inside. After an extravagant coat check and quick access to the downstairs bar, there's a wide open dance floor with the DJ on stage at the opposite end. There are bodyguards lining the walls, of course - after Naomi's stunt at the solstice party there's no losing them - but there's only one rule at this party: absolutely no one is to touch the mic except for the DJ and Maxxie. The music all night is a blend of genres, but every song is appropriate to dance to. Obviously there are some Flashstep songs thrown in for good measure, but rest assured that every band will probably hear their music in some form or another, whether it's the song itself or a remix to make it a bit more suitable for the mood of the party.

On the two upper levels there are balconies overlooking the dance floor, and it's a bit quieter up here due to some innovative architecture. One may actually be able to have a conversation in the comfortable lounge, and there's another bar here with a few more options for mixed drinks. It's a place to rest up, have a few drinks, and enjoy the music at a more reasonable volume before you head back out to the party. There's even waitstaff floating around making sure everyone has anything they want, and as always the bodyguards are hanging out at the edges of the space to make sure no one starts any trouble.

Finally, there's an entrance to an outdoor balcony on the top level, high enough up to get a nice view of downtown and still be sheltered from the nosy paparazzi down on the street. The temperature has dropped with the arrival of winter, but it's a calm, clear night in Vista city and the alcohol should be enough to keep you warm.

The bars are fully stocked with a few thousand dollars worth of alcohol to keep everyone properly buzzed, and there are a few dealers floating around upstairs ready to sell anything to anyone with a charming smile. The host himself will be bouncing around, enjoying himself as if it was all catered specifically to his idea of the perfect party (it was) and saying hi to anyone and everyone.

[OOC: This is party style! Throw up a toplevel and get tagging! You can get up to any shenanigans you want, but please keep in mind the bodyguards are plentiful and on high alert since the solstice party. Maxxie has, of course, tried and failed to get them to join in on the fun, but they don't seem too overbearing unless trouble starts brewing. To the surprise of no one who actually knows him, Artolo is also trying to get plastered. It's his big goal of the night. So he's hanging about the bar as well, and just the sight of Sora trying to down booze has him laughing.

"Are you trying to pull off a record or something?"

[consocius]

At least the booze he's on right now is in the form of jello shots, so that's rather appropriate, right? This last one even had a gummy worm in it, so that's currently sticking half out of his mouth as he turns to look at Artolo. He reaches up to take it so he can speak. While chewing on the candy, of course.

"Record for what?"

"For, like..." There's a very vague hand gesture. Who knows what he's trying to demonstrate here. Artolo's mind is just a bit too fuzzy for proper words, so it takes a minute. "Going through all sorts of booze."

[consocius]

Sora gets it, and laughs. "Nah. I just don't usually drink or anything. So I wanna try new stuff. And have fun. 'Cause like. You never know when weird bad stuff's gonna happen. So gotta have fun when you can. Like..." He looks up at the ceiling, trying to remember what it's called. "That one thing. Carp something."

"You don't drink!?" Artolo seems inappropriately aghast at this news. When his own drink finally comes over to him, he practically downs half of it without seeming to think. "The things you'e missed! Although. I guess. Yeah that makes sense. Less tabloids."

[consocius]

This is a reaction Sora is actually used to. There's more laughter. He's generally kind of an easily amused person anyway but being tipsy just means he's more so. "I have a little! Sometimes. But not to like... get drunk..."

He stares in awe at how quickly Artolo tips that drink back. "Nah, tabloids don't care if you're drunk, they write stuff anyways," he points out with a deep frown.

"Well, yeah," is the snorted out answer as he half slumps against the counter. "But.... It's less about how you're a drunken hasbeen and more.." It's hard to think when he's this hammered. He knows his band has seen some ridiculous crap.

"More about how you're a vampire werewolf," he finally fishes out. "And everyone knows that kind of thing is bs."

[consocius]

"Well, kinda hard for them to pull off drunken has-been for someone who's only seventeen, too, but..." Wait, hold up a second. He looks at Artolo with utter shock for a moment. "...you can be a vampire and a werewolf? Like, at the same time?"

[iitrebel]

This is obviously a way more important subject than anything else, and Artolo dives into it with utter disregard. "Apparently!" he scoffs, jolting back up again to give a wild gesture. "But then again, they're, like, flinging labels at Mai, I don't even get it. Tooru doesn't have to deal with this!"

[consocius]

Sora frowns and looks up at the ceiling as he considers. "Yeah... I dunno how they decide who to write about. I've seen some stuff about me but not a lot. They called me a... A playboy, or somethin'. Someone who flirts a lot."

[iitrebel]

"You? A playboy?" A round of sniggers burst out of him. This is the kid who ate a bit of nacho cheese stuck to his face. The image just doesn't mash with the title. "How does that work?"

[consocius]

Unfazed by Artolo's laughing, Sora answers his question. "I dunno! Like they were saying I flirt with everyone but I don't even know how to do that. I'm just nice!"

He seems to be a little down about this, but only because it's crossed his mind again, and he doesn't like the implication that he's cheating on people like the tabloid suggested. "And it's not like Ryouta's kiss meant anything, or that I do that all the time -- it was my first kiss!"

"Nice." He repeats it, still grinning. Oh boy. "Okay, so, like, what were they talking about specifically?"
