What: Maxxie's Super Amazing and Truly Spectacular New Year's Eve Party

Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, drugs, sex, all that good rock 'n roll stuff. If there's going to be anything else just throw it in the header or let me know and I'll add it!

The night club Maxxie rents out is in the heart of the downtown, sticking out like a sore thumb with its front entrance looking more like a museum than a club. There's a red carpet leading up the steps, with bodyguards littered about to keep the paparazzi and troublemakers at arm's length. No one with a recognizable face will be turned away from entering the club, and even through the giant, heavy doors there's a distinct baseline and a hint of flashing lights from the dance floor.

Said dance floor is the first step once you're inside. After an extravagant coat check and quick access to the downstairs bar, there's a wide open dance floor with the DJ on stage at the opposite end. There are bodyguards lining the walls, of course - after Naomi's stunt at the solstice party there's no losing them - but there's only one rule at this party: absolutely no one is to touch the mic except for the DJ and Maxxie. The music all night is a blend of genres, but every song is appropriate to dance to. Obviously there are some Flashstep songs thrown in for good measure, but rest assured that every band will probably hear their music in some form or another, whether it's the song itself or a remix to make it a bit more suitable for the mood of the party.

On the two upper levels there are balconies overlooking the dance floor, and it's a bit quieter up here due to some innovative architecture. One may actually be able to have a conversation in the comfortable lounge, and there's another bar here with a few more options for mixed drinks. It's a place to rest up, have a few drinks, and enjoy the music at a more reasonable volume before you head back out to the party. There's even waitstaff floating around making sure everyone has anything they want, and as always the bodyguards are hanging out at the edges of the space to make sure no one starts any trouble.

Finally, there's an entrance to an outdoor balcony on the top level, high enough up to get a nice view of downtown and still be sheltered from the nosy paparazzi down on the street. The temperature has dropped with the arrival of winter, but it's a calm, clear night in Vista city and the alcohol should be enough to keep you warm.

The bars are fully stocked with a few thousand dollars worth of alcohol to keep everyone properly buzzed, and there are a few dealers floating around upstairs ready to sell anything to anyone with a charming smile. The host himself will be bouncing around, enjoying himself as if it was all catered specifically to his idea of the perfect party (it was) and saying hi to anyone and everyone.

[OOC: This is party style! Throw up a toplevel and get tagging! You can get up to any shenanigans you want, but please keep in mind the bodyguards are plentiful and on high alert since the solstice party. Maxxie has, of course, tried and failed to get them to join in on the fun, but they don't seem too overbearing unless trouble starts brewing. [Yeah, extremely unavoidable. Like when Artolo, already happily high and probably drunk, fumbles into B.]

Whoa-! Okay, hi- [And then he gets a look at who it is he's slammed into this time and his grin takes up his whole face. His brown skin is flushed and his eyes are a bit glazed over, but he seems happy.] B!

[killerbeep]

Oh-- hey! [B grins; he's probably a little closer to sober than Artolo, but he's still had a few drinks already. He bumps Artolo affectionately with one shoulder, smiling brightly.] Enjoying the party?

[iitrebel]

Fantastic! [Bumping back, he laughs again.] There's no wine here! That's amazing. Wine is the worst, but there's no wine, so this is an actual party.

[It all makes sense, trust him on this.]

[killerbeep]

[B gives a snort.] If you say so, man. [Though he won't argue with wine being the worst.] Either way, good to hear you're have a good time! Maxxie really went all-out with this.

[iitrebel]

Oh shit, yeah, you're in the same band! [He almost forgets for everyone else.] He didn't die trying to get this together, right?

[killerbeep]

To be totally honest, I think he might've gotten close a couple times. But he pulled through in the end. [Not even greedy, rude booze vendors could stop him... or convince him to let B help "convince" them over the phone.]

[iitrebel]

Nice. Real nice- he probably thinks I'm an asshole, but, don't let him die. People who throw parties are good, and he shouldn't die for that.

[That was a well put together compliment. Yep.]

You know how to dance, right? Because boy band!

[killerbeep]

He thinks you're an asshole? [Oh well, they can talk about that some other time. It's a party!] Don't worry, I won't - it'd pretty much suck if he died over this.

[He grins brightly and nods.] Yep! You?

Mhm!

[But he's smiling, so... Who knows what's going through Artolo's head right now. The question makes him laugh.]

Not at all!

[killerbeep]

[B just laughs - then goes to take hold of Artolo's hand.]

Well, there's always time to learn, right?

[iitrebel]

[The delighted smile Artolo makes at having his hand taken is 90% drunk, but 10% more genuine than most of his grins.]

Am I going to get taught boyband dances? My butt isn't great for that, is that still okay?

[killerbeep]

That's alright! And I don't see anything wrong with your butt, anyway.

Besides, this works kinda differently from dancing on a stage, anyway.

[iitrebel]

Then I put myself in your hands. Except not literally. Wait, maybe literally.

[Depends on how hands-on this training will be.]

[killerbeep]

Hmm. It can be however literal you want it to be.

[And, with that comment and a dumb, cheesy grin, he tugs Artolo over to one of the relatively clear spots on the dance floor - more room to practice without anyone getting injured.]

[iitrebel]

Well, you treated me to dinner once, so if anyone's earned a chance to, it's you!

[Laughing, he lets himself be tugged along and somehow manages to not trip over his own feet.]

Okay, so. How do we do the thing?

[killerbeep]

[B takes hold of Artolo's other hand, that smile still lingering on his face as he considers that.]

Let's see... alright, to start with, just step... this way.

[iitrebel]

Step... Okay, that's simple.

[Simple enough that even his intoxicated brain can follow it, and he does so with a smile that's way too proud for the situation.]

[killerbeep]

[Holy shit he's so proud of himself. B can't quite suppress a laugh, but it's not at all mean-spirited, just genuinely amused.]

Nice job! And again, this way now... then turn.

[He goes through the steps slowly, both for Artolo's sake and to account for his own somewhat reduced coordination.]

[God bless B for going slow. It's the only way Artolo is able to learn, nearly tripping on his feet a couple of times. Eventually, however, he's beaming.]

Got it! Maybe. I think.

[killerbeep]

Close enough! Now... this way, and step here.

Okay... Okay. Got it. I'm so good at this dancing thing.

[That's a pretty questionable statement, honestly, but he hasn't fallen over yet, so.]

[B laughs.]

You're definitely picking it up fast, that's for sure!

[It is an outright lie is what it is, but Artolo seems pretty happy.]

Does this mean I can join Flashstep and be a pretty boy too?
