☆BETTER TO PRETEND

For musicians in either Pride or Virgo, the job offer is delivered by their managers- a suggestion to accept an invitation from Sevetop to participate in a successful gameshow. (A message that is delivered perhaps a bit more pressingly to some, with the unsaid words of “This is a chance to make it up to us”.) For others, strangers just trying to make a living and wait for their chance to save their loved ones, the message is delivered over their communicators by Gold, with promises that infiltrating this event will aid you in liberating the captives from their label's control. Either way, all roads lead to Sevetop Entertainment.

Sevetop might not have the weight that musical giants Pride Labels and Virgo Entertainment do, but that’s because it’s not into the musical industry. Sevetop is all about television and the big screen. For these purposes, it has its own little area of the city, a bustling kind of Hollywood filled with the more office-like buildings, auditoriums for additions, and even various sets. Whether you’re driven in style via limo, or brought to a regular line of buses, this is where you end up at.

Musicians, of course, end up at the more posh meeting room. A spread of delicate little lunch sandwiches, veggie platters, cupcakes, and assorted beverages are on a table for anyone to snatch up, and regularly refilled. Every celebrity is handed a small folder with papers inside going over both the boring legal things and explaining the purpose of the show. “Royals” are the ones to be “saved”, but they don’t have to make the journey easier on their “Heroes” and are given tools at their disposal to help or hinder. Heroes have one goal to accomplish, ‘rescuing’ their Royal, but it changes depending on the challenge.

Much to your surprise, some of those aspiring Heroes might just look familiar. Don't tell!

☆THE HEROES

In another building, next door, various people picked off the street (some coincidentally, others not so much, thanks to Gold's glamour witchcraft) are being given very much the same kind of presentation… In a room much more cramped, with not nearly enough chairs, on a slideshow. The only refreshments available are small bags of chips (try not to take more than one) and coolers full of bottled water.

After the separate presentations are done with, everyone is allowed to check out the sets for past seasons, which includes what look like giant mushroom tops that are made of very bouncy rubber, climbing walls made of fake vines, pumpkin shaped carriages (horses not included), and other such things.

Of course, it’s not all play. While you’re messing about, you’ve all been given numbers. Once you’ve been called, you’re to stand in front of Fairy Trial’s hosts and commentators: siblings Bella and Maurice Hooks. Both of them are equally friendly, although her more outgoing to his easygoing, but they have plenty of questions for this little audition. Tell them about yourself: hobbies, job, your favorite fairy tale, what you think your best skill is - and then, the most important, you get to display a choice "talent" in front of the audience. It can be whatever you like, as long as it's crowd appropriate.

Be careful, though, because the rock stars you're hoping to work with are watching, too. At the very least, don't make an ass out of yourself. Gold's enchantments are good, but there are some things that even magic can't charm its way through.

After all this, you’ll get a chance to just rest and mingle while your rides come back to take you back to the mall or HQ you were picked up at. Obviously for certain famous names, they’ll probably be the first ones out, but who knows… Maybe there was a traffic delay, and now you have some time to spare waiting around here as well. Just take note that you’re not allowed to wander too far from the Fairy Trial sets. Security is keeping an eye on folks to make sure they don’t steal or wreck anything.

And don’t worry, you’ll be told about the results within a week! They promise.

[Usagi is not what one would call "athletic" or able to think fast when not in senshi form or playing a video game. So when the ball comes right at her?

Oh you can bet it hit her.

She is currently covering her face and gave a soft "ow" really wishing she had her senshi abilities right now though her crystal was already working to heal her.]

Are you okay?! [Several people who saw her take the volleyball to the face exclaimed and she could only give a thumbs up in reply.]

Y-You still have a killer spike, D-Di... [Thank god Minako and she were on the same side because her volleyball skills alone were pretty deadly.]

Wah! Oh, U---uh, Serena, I'm so sorry!

[She rushes to fuss over her cousin, eyes wide with fear. Yeah, she definitely wouldn't make it in now, but as long as the others did---]

Quick, play it up some more! Maybe they'll take pity on you and you'll get in for sure!

[She wasn't the best actress, though. That she left to Minako. Still, she supposed she could at least try even as the crystal was already dulling the pain and healing her.]

O-OH NO! It-is it bad? [She looked up and while her face was red, there was no damage.] I'm not bleeding or anything right?!

N---no! We can save it! You're gonna be okay!

[She fusses and pats Usagi's hair some more, leaning in to whisper in her ear.]

The TV people love drama. Don't worry, you'll be on in no time!

[Save it, save what? Save her face?]

But you're much more likely to get on and win! [She was a crybaby, certainly, but she had never faked her pain before.]

Not now I'm not! I'm too wild and dangerous. They need a sweet, innocent, cool dancer like you!

[C'mon, Usagi. She pulls her close and soothes her with some dramatic patting.]

Who nearly took out several celebrities when she fell off a mushroom.

[She leaned her head on Minako's shoulder and couldn't help but laugh, which was good because it sounded like she was crying and her shoulders were heaving.]

Poor Haruka is the one who is going to have to win.

Good thing we know she can, huh?

[She's all smiles still.]

Okay, chin up. You're so cute there's no way they won't pick you.

[She couldn't keep this up any longer anyways, but she lifts her head and hugs onto Minako.]

I was wondering about that, since I know how competitive you are. Would you beat her?

Eh...well, there's one way to find out, right! I'll have to do my best!

Though it sounds like it depends on who we get for our royal charges.

[She told Rei to pick Minako so...]

It's a bit weird that the Royals would be allowed to hinder us, isn't it? Like, I'd understand OTHER royals or something, but wouldn't they lose if we get hindered too much?

Not everybody wants to win, I guess? It can be just as much fun to watch someone fail.

I'm too used to failing to want to watch someone have to endure that.

Who knows? They could like it.

But...hey, does it still hurt? Should I get ice?

Ah, you know me, if anyone can take a pretty bad beating, it's me. [She laughed but blushed.] Years of clumsiness and klutziness will do that. I'll be fine... you're still as strong as ever, though.

So are you, Usagi.

[She winks and gives her a little squeeze.]

Go get 'em!

[She returned her squeeze in return and, unable to keep a secret suddenly hugged Minako.]

Rei said she would want to pick you.

[She just wants her friends to be as happy in love as she is!]

She---what? Huh?

[That catches her attention.]

Even after I almost nailed her?

[Usagi is too pure minded to even think about making that comment dirty. ~~Her mun is not.~~]

Well, it was an "almost" but you did with me and I would pick you too. [May no one ever make her choose between her senshi because she honestly couldn't.]

You're amazing, of course she would pick you. [Plus she's preeeeeettty sure Rei likes Minako too with the way Minako is talking about things between them.] You're amazing. Period. No argument.

[Minako is very red at this point. She gives Usagi a playful shove.]

Ah, we'll just see about that! But you're so charming that even if it is us, we'll have to watch out for you! You might say you're not as strong or fast, but...you've got the willpower.

Well... [She couldn't argue with that- nor was she about to, because her stomach growled.] Actually! I just hope one of the trials is an eating contest! [She laughed. Then yes, she would win it hands down.]

Speaking of eating, all they gave us was that bag of chips and that was hours ago. Can we go get something to eat?

Wouldn't we have to break into the royal lounge for that? Where else would they have something?

[She should probably not be giving Usagi this idea.]

Oh, uh... I was thinking we head out to eat, but maybe we can do that instead!
