Johanna's been moody for the past couple months - fine, she admits it. That party back in December had been quite the damper, to say the least, and the way the band had fallen apart for a few weeks didn't help. Stella had told her not to be so worried, and Jo had scoffed - at the time.

But now the penthouse is starting to get loud again. It's starting to get fun again. With the band back to full strength, five members present and accounted for, their apartment actually feels lived in. And now that Johanna isn't locking herself away as much anymore, that means the place is back to being the home of the best pop punk band in town.

Of course, that means that the penthouse is kind of a mess, between the parties being had and the music being made. But hey - that's the price of genius. Or something like that.

Shin's been matching her shots so far. We'll see how long he can keep that up, "I'm glad to be with you, but who needs excuses to get wasted?"

Johanna snorts, rolling her eyes. "Very true. I've been letting the stuff around here get in the way of dear, sweet, cheap alcohol. Never again."

"I live on alcohol, cigarettes, and weed," Shin says with a laugh. Since it seems that he only turned 16 a few months ago it's likely he started doing these things long before it was legal.

God, she's so tempted to roll her eyes at that. Kids think they're so cool. But instad, she bats her eyelashes, her entire being radiating sarcasm. "Oh my gosh, that's so edgy. Congratulations."

Shin gives a hearty laugh at that, crossing his arms and actually trying to look edgy and purposefully looking extremely dorky instead, "So edgy I use it to cut my hair." He orders a beer, not wanting to get too drunk too fast, "That did sound pretty stupid though. I shouldn't be bragging about bad habits."

"Look, you can brag about whatever you want." Johanna's not about to tell people what they can or can't say - not when her whole branding is about being wild and free. "I'm just saying that bragging about that shit makes you sound like a tryhard. That's all."

Shin shrugs, "Fair enough. I didn't really think about it." He takes another sip of beer. "Let's forget about it and keep having a good time. How long have you been in the business?"

"In the business? Um..." She takes a drink, then shrugs. "A few years. My story's pretty typical - I started off solo, the right people thought I sounded good, and here I am."

She grins a little, and adds on, "it's fucking great to actually have fans, though. That's the biggest plus."

"Yeah, I'm pretty thrilled with that part," he admits with a genuine smile, "It was all pretty crazy when that video I made got popular. I never thought it would get me a job."

"Yeah, well. You're here now. As long as you're ready to gear up and play with the big kids, you should be fine." And with that said, Johanna finishes off her drink and motions to one of the bartenders for another.

Shin takes a few gulps of his beer, "Of course I am. I was looking for a band to play with long before Virgo got in touch with me." Or... he thinks he was. He can't remember actually looking around.

"I guess slots for bassists and guitarists fill up pretty quick."

"It's pretty competitive," she'll admit with a shrug. "Sometimes I feel like people who play weird instruments get lucky, but then it's an uphill climb for them to get on anyone's radar in the first place."

"I guess why it's called a 'break'," he muses as he finishes off his beer and orders something harder instead. "So, tell me a bit about yourself."

"About myself? What, do you want to know if I like long walks on the beach?" She raises her eyebrows, smirking. "I'm twenty-one, I've been doing this my whole life, I didn't really come from anywhere interesting. I don't think there's much to know."

He shrugs, "Hey, it's knowing something." He orders another drink as he finishes this one. "I only started playing a few years back," He smiles sadly, "It was one of the only things that made me actually happy." Brainwashing is a bit more effective when you actually did play these instruments before you got kidnapped. "So I kept playing. Not much else to say."

Johanna hums noncommittally, staring into her glass and wondering how getting drinks turned into talking about their life stories. "What, booze and parties don't make you happy?" She knows that's really not the point, but she also doesn't care.

"Not without good company," he smiles and raises his glass to her, "But now I have that too." Is he flirting? Yes, he's flirting.

Good lord. "It's going to take a little more than that to get me batting my eyelashes and simpering." As if anyone could even imagine Johanna doing either of those things.

Shin's just poking around here to see what she likes and doesn't. He might be flattering her and flirting, but since she's a band member he doesn't plan on trying to get her to pay to have sex with him. That's something, at least?

He laughs, "like you'd ever do that. Nah, if I really tried getting with you, you'd probably chew me up and spit me out."

She gives him a one-shouldered shrug, smirk coming back to her lips. "Probably. I'd like to think we'd have a good time first before then, but you know. Whatever works."

"Well, if that's what you wanted," a heart emoticon could practically be heard in his voice as he trails off. "Either way I'd end up the same. Maybe a few less or s a few more regrets." He shrugs as well, letting his eyes fall closed for a long blink before smirking back at her.

She snorts, shaking her head. "Cute. I'm sure the fangirls will go crazy over that act."

"It paid the bills." It's hard to tell if he's joking, but he is implying that he did this stuff for money at some point at least.
