[Kido's been reluctant to leave the penthouse since she joined up with MANTICORE. Partially because she didn't want to deal with betrayed fans or tabloids, but also partially because she was genuinely terrified of getting shoved in another sack. Yeah. Who wouldn't be?

But she's tried venturing out again. She keeps glancing over her shoulder, though. On the bright side this leads her to spotting a familiar face. She turns when she sees him, lifting a hand before shoving it into her hoodie pocket. She looks entirely like a disaster, though finally a somewhat healthy one, one pant leg rolled up to her knee and her hood up far enough to cover most of her eyes.]

Makoto! It's been a while.

[Saitama had been keeping to himself, falling into his usual trap - forgetting about the people around him and getting distracted by something. He hadn't forgotten Genos, but he was also starting to realize just how much weaker he really was. It made his shopping trips a lot longer, as he juggled between acutely being aware of the differences and trying to do math for coupons in his head.

But it's nice to get a familiar voice snapping him out of thought. Kido. Kido? Yeah, Kido.]

Oh, hey. First time seeing you outside.

[She shrugs with a sheepish sort of smile.]

I try not to be noticed outside. [And that's a lot easier when she has powers that let her disappear.] The press is relentless. I haven't had a lot of time, anyway. Learning an entire new set. How've you been?

Err, busy? Realized there's something wrong with me, kinda got distracted.

[She's immediately concerned by that phrasing.] Something wrong? Do you need a doctor or something?

Err, no, I'm just... weaker? I'm not dying or anything, though.

Are you sure you're not sick then? [Look he is the man of her best friend's dreams she has to be worried about him.]

What are you talking about? I'm fine. I... haven't been this good in a while, actually.

Yeah. Being in MANTICORE has been helpful. It's a lot less stressful than System Crash.

There's a too-long silence as Saitama tries to remember where those names came from. He knows the first one, right? Isn't it... Saitama sneaks the CD he has in his pocket out to see the band name OKAY YEAH okay he'll just discreetly slide that back into his pocket.]

You're in Genos' band, now?

Yeah, Squalo kidnapped me a few weeks ago. I've been their bassist ever since.

[She shrugs] Genos trusts him. So I do, too, I guess.

Good, then. I'm glad Genos' friends are mostly together. Genos hasn't been mad that I haven't shown up for a while, right?

He doesn't seem mad. Are you sure you don't need to see a doctor or something?

If you could lift a truck, and then suddenly you could only lift a weight, but you weren't sick or injured or anything...

[It probably has something to do with dimension hopping he's come to realize by now.]

I don't think I know anybody who could lift a truck, but I'd think someone was messing with me...

Well, I can probably lift a truck fine now, but my strength is definitely waned...
