☆THE FESTIVAL

Welcome to the South Vista Music Fest! An enormous, weeklong festival with hundreds of bands performing nearly 24/7, the Music Fest is a quarter annual event that celebrates all manners of local talent, both big time and small time. Every band from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment will have performances to do, including the freshly recruited – you better have your act together, because now is your time to shine!

Player bands will be performing roughly once a day, with bands from the first app round predominantly with evening slots and the newest bands with predominantly afternoon slots. There is definitely a hierarchy to the scheduling - Pride and Virgo claim almost all of the prime performance times, while other labels are forced to deal with the leftovers. You've definitely been chosen by the winners of the music industry in these parts, that's for sure.

Shuttles will be available to take people back to their relative HQs in their downtime, but they're also allowed to hang out and enjoy the festivities if that's what they prefer. Stuff is happening all day and night, so it's really just a question of how much you can party while still being conscious for your own show. Your managers will tell you that the company CEOs pay extra close attention to this event, so that you need to be on your best behaviour.

The festival takes up a massive amount of floor area with multiple stages of various sizes and a large amount of glowy display screens. It's set up on the ground floor of the cityscape, meaning that the suspension roads and walkways above have been programmed to add to the ambient lighting all day and night.

► TRAILER PARK KIDS: For those that just want to chill, there is a massive VIP area reserved for labels to park various trailers for their musicians to hang out in during downtime - one for each band. They aren't quite as big as the tour buses, but they are comfortable and well stocked. Each is equipped with two beds and a bathroom/shower. Pretty much every local band you know of is here, including the notorious Predator. Nose around their trailer at your own risk.

► IN THE SPOTLIGHT: With at least six performances in a span of six days, there is plenty of time for shenanigans to go down both back and center stage. Time to show your mettle, and to hope that some asshole doesn't take all the best food items from the backstage catering tables before you can get to them.

► ATMOSPHERIC NOISE: If you dare brave the storm, there is a massive quantity of merch, vendor, and food booths available for your perusal. Many fans endeavor to spend as much time at Music Fest as possible, and so the space is very lived in, with large groups of people hanging out in well populated lounge areas. Depending on how popular you are, it may be difficult to get around without getting swarmed by your fans.

► DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER: And all the while, the strange memories continue. The label's newest members will have started to feel strange as of November 6th, and by the time of the Fest almost all of them will be discovering their first memories regains. The first one should be based on the alignment you chose, but the rest can be whatever you want. New character may regain up to 4 memories between their arrival and the end of November.

{Haru made it a point to keep up with bands and who's who when she was on the internet circuit, and now that she's got a real band and a contract with Virgo she'd definitely keeping up her competition at Pride as well as the bands in Virgo. Therefore, she's surprised to see another relative newcomer from the other company on the ground in the festival grounds.

She bites her lip, glancing down at her candied apple, wondering if she could just ignore him and keep going, but no, she'd be so guilty later especially if she ever found out something was really wrong.}

Hey--You're in Manticore, right? Are you okay? Should I get someone for you?

[He doesn't stop scratching at his skin, and it's definitely starting to turn red. He jerks his head up. He doesn't know this person, the other label, maybe?

He would usually be quick to recover but the memory? Thought? That drifted through his conscious still has him unbalanced. Why would he think he'd melt like that...

So it takes him a bit before he replies, clearing his throat.]

No need to worry about me.

[He'll do enough worrying for himself, no need to get somebody from the opposing label involved. It's his problem.]

You're from Virgo, right?

{She bites her lip again. Something inside her screams he's lying and she doesn't know why she thinks so. What kind of experience does she have telling when stupid boys are lying about injury or their feelings? Very little so far as she knows.

It would be irresponsible to leave him on his own until she was certain he was better.}

Maybe I'm just checking out the competition.

{Haru tries a smile and a cheeky wink. He's not getting rid of her so easily, but she'll drop asking him about whatever's wrong. She's had her own strange moments during the festival, and she wouldn't want a stranger prying in either.}

[He's scratched his arm so badly that it's starting to bleed a bit. This skin isn't right, something else is supposed to be in place of it.]

Not genre competition though.

Genos, from MANTICORE. I'm sure you've heard of us... or heard us.

{With a glance at his arm Haru kneels and shoves her candied apple in his direction.}

Hold this for me?

{It's not really a question, but she's hoping if she occupies one of his hands he can't do worse damage to himself and she can fish in her backpack for her first aid kit.}

Both! I really like the unique quality your cellist gives your band.

[He doesn't think about it, but he does hold it for her.]

Can't say no to a cute girl.

[Then he grins at the mention of MANTICORE's cellist.]

Squalo's great. The cello makes us very distinctive as a metal band.

{Haru beams at the compliment. She's still used to being considered plain in comparison to most people under cameras. Her coloring is dull without wigs or other fixings, and her face is pleasant, but not stunning.}

It does! Though I have to say, I'm glad Squalo's not singing.

{The name Squalo sounds familiar, like she's said it before, but she dismisses the idea. She probably just typed it morethan she remembers when she was still running her own channel.

She digs around her neon cat bag and produces a small first aid kit immediately and deftly pulling out a sanitizing spray and a bandage for his arm.}

Even a member of Pride can't start out by walking onto stage bleeding.

[She's really cute when she's smiling, at least to Genos.

That draws a laugh out of him-]

There's a reason I'm doing the vocals.

[And then he looks blankly at his self inflicted wound, when did that happen...]

What? When did I do that...?

{He has excellent taste.

She giggles back.}

Besides the fact that you do them well from what I've heard of you guys.

{Her hands are gently, but quick and competent, like she's bandaged people hundreds of times as she cleans and covers his wound.}

Right after I greeted you.

{She hesitates just a moment and then adds:}

There's a lot of pressure here at the festival especially for young bands...I've had a strange moment or two myself.

I sound the best.

[He's practically preening at the praise. Yes, yes. Keep doing that, he loves it.

But he looks back at his arm and he doesn't remember scratching it that badly.]

Yeah, you could say that. But you know, pressure can make or break a band.

Ahahah, I don't know about the beee~eeest, but certainly great.

{She will, a little, but she can't give him too much.

Haru repacks her kit slowly and thoughtfully, nodding along with what he says.}

That's true, but I think it's not the pressure itself so much as whether or not the band can support itself from the inside to hold up under that pressure.

{She smiles.}

I understand I'm a stranger and from Virgo, too, so you wouldn't want to explain, but if something is bothering you, because of the festival or any other reason.....You should let your band support you. That's what they're there for.

[No matter what, he knows he's the best. Doesn't matter what anybody else says- if they don't believe it yet, all he has to do is prove himself.]

I'll get you to say I'm the best one day.

[That's a fair way to put it, so he'll nod.]

Same to you. Remember your band's your family.

I'll hold you to that.

{Now he's built her expectations, she's going to keep a closer watch on him.}

{She tugs as her hair and sighs.}

Ah...hallucinated? Remembered? Anyway, when I had my problem! It's good to have people to take care of that will do the same for you in return.

{Her smiles is megawatt, just like their stage lights.}

I won't let you down.

[He'll give her a wink.]

Gotta love your band, right? Take care of your own and they'll take care of you.

{Haru turns slightly pink when he winks and reaches out to take her candied apple back in hopes of hiding behind it.}

Exactly. Are you feeling better? Well enough to find them at least?
