☆THE FESTIVAL Welcome to the South Vista Music Fest! An enormous, weeklong festival with hundreds of bands performing nearly 24/7, the Music Fest is a quarter annual event that celebrates all manners of local talent, both big time and small time. Every band from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment will have performances to do, including the freshly recruited – you better have your act together, because now is your time to shine! Player bands will be performing roughly once a day, with bands from the first app round predominantly with evening slots and the newest bands with predominantly afternoon slots. There is definitely a hierarchy to the scheduling - Pride and Virgo claim almost all of the prime performance times, while other labels are forced to deal with the leftovers. You've definitely been chosen by the winners of the music industry in these parts, that's for sure. Shuttles will be available to take people back to their relative HQs in their downtime, but they're also allowed to hang out and enjoy the festivities if that's what they prefer. Stuff is happening all day and night, so it's really just a question of how much you can party while still being conscious for your own show. Your managers will tell you that the company CEOs pay extra close attention to this event, so that you need to be on your best behaviour. The festival takes up a massive amount of floor area with multiple stages of various sizes and a large amount of glowy display screens. It's set up on the ground floor of the cityscape, meaning that the suspension roads and walkways above have been programmed to add to the ambient lighting all day and night. ► TRAILER PARK KIDS: For those that just want to chill, there is a massive VIP area reserved for labels to park various trailers for their musicians to hang out in during downtime - one for each band. They aren't quite as big as the tour buses, but they are comfortable and well stocked. Each is equipped with two beds and a bathroom/shower. Pretty much every local band you know of is here, including the notorious Predator. Nose around their trailer at your own risk. ► IN THE SPOTLIGHT: With at least six performances in a span of six days, there is plenty of time for shenanigans to go down both back and center stage. Time to show your mettle, and to hope that some asshole doesn't take all the best food items from the backstage catering tables before you can get to them. ► ATMOSPHERIC NOISE: If you dare brave the storm, there is a massive quantity of merch, vendor, and food booths available for your perusal. Many fans endeavor to spend as much time at Music Fest as possible, and so the space is very lived in, with large groups of people hanging out in well populated lounge areas. Depending on how popular you are, it may be difficult to get around without getting swarmed by your fans. ► DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER: And all the while, the strange memories continue. The label's newest members will have started to feel strange as of November 6th, and by the time of the Fest almost all of them will be discovering their first memories regains. The first one should be based on the alignment you chose, but the rest can be whatever you want. New character may regain up to 4 memories between their arrival and the end of November.

[ The relative isolation of the trailer park is cool. Even fan interactions get tiring sometimes, and it’s good to have a place she can go to when she doesn’t feel like watching other people play nice with each other. It’s also cool because she doesn’t have to follow the rules that the label has set for them when it comes to public decency.

Hey, she’s not naked. Not exactly. It’s just that the gauzy top she’s wearing is pretty much see-through, and her pockets are longer than her shorts. But hey, fight her. Literally. She’ll be walking around the park, angry music blaring for her headphones, just waiting for someone to make a comment. And if anyone does look twice, she’ll leer at them, saying casually- ] Isn’t it nice out today?

[ Just because Johanna’s got talent doesn’t mean that her appearance isn’t important. It’s vital, of course, to be exactly who she wants to be on-stage. Which involves a very particular makeup routine backstage before she goes on.

She’s working on the wings of her eyeliner with intense concentration when someone jostles her elbow. It might’ve been an accident - or maybe not so much. Either way, she whips around in her seat, glaring at the offender. With her dark eyes and lips, the slight, small girl almost looks threatening - but not quite. ] Try that again, honey, and I’ll gouge your eyes out. [ She spits it out in a fake, sugar-sweet tone that barely masks her irritation. Oh dear. ]

{ o3 - out and about }

[ She’s in the midst of it all when it happens - which is probably the worst place to be. She’d thought it would be a good idea to go check out the booths, maybe laugh at shitty merch for the lamer bands and sign some autographs. Plus, some of those food booths had definitely been calling her name.

As she moved from one booth to another, though, a memory swam unbidden to the forefront of her mind. She stops in her tracks abruptly as she remembers a tropical jungle, a rush of anger, and then—

"Whole country in rebellion? Wouldn't want anything like that!”

As soon as it comes, it’s gone, and Johanna is left standing still in the open festival, being jostled by the bustling ground. She’s disoriented enough that her attempt to start moving again ends up with her barreling straight into someone. ] Holy fucking shit. [ Her voice doesn’t hold as much anger as it normally would, though, still caught up in the confusion of that memory. ] Look where you’re going.

[Of course, Luci doesn't think that anybody has the tits to talk to her like that. She must be bitching somebody else out. It's crowded backstage between the artists, the roadies, the managers, and execs getting tours of 'the magic', anybody could've done it.]

[But yes, she had bumped Joanna and when she realizes it was her and that she's being called out for it, Luci just turns, slowly, and takes in the 'damage'.]

If that's how you thank people who do you favors, I'd love to see what you'd do if someone misspelled your name on your coffee cup.

[ For all that Johanna is a tiny girl, she has an impressive repertoire of disbelieving huffs. She lets one out now as she continues to glare daggers at the woman speaking to her. ] Favors? How about you explain slowly how getting in my way is doing me any favors?

{Haru double takes. She does it. She's not proud of her surprise, but it happens, and she's got no problems owning up to it with a sheepish smile when Johanna leers. She's dressed for the weather, too, in neon shorts not nearly as short as the other woman's and an equally eye searing halter top.}

It really is nice! You're from Nuclear Parliment, right?

That's me. [ She draws herself up to her full height - which unfortunately isn't that tall, but she's got the confidence and bravado to make it feel like she's added a few inches. ] Who are you, then?

[ She does actually vaguely recognize the girl, but she prefers to act like knowing anything about other bands isn't worth her time. ]

{Haru's only 5'2'' herself so any height at all is impressive against her.

She continues smiling, completely unaffected by Johanna's ignorance of her identity.}

[ Squalo is making his way through the crowd with relative ease, when all of the sudden someone runs into him. He actually staggers backward from the impact, but manages to keep upright, and he tries to grip the girl's wrist before she can just slip away with having the last word. ]

Hey now, you're the one tryin' to run me over here.

[ She twists her arm, trying to wrench her wrist out of his grasp as a proper scowl returns to her face. ] I'm five-foot-five and I weigh, like, two pounds sopping wet. I'm not that hard to dodge. [ After all, when it suits her needs, she's just a small defenseless girl - though in this case, she does feel a bit irritated that this is her fault. ]

[ He'll let go of her if she puts enough force into it. He's not really interested in making anyone bruise right now. ] Bullets are small and light, too. [ Is he saying he's not buying into the harmless thing? He might be. ] What's the rush, anyway?

[ Oh no. Johanna's expression turns sour, and she straightens with an angry huff. ] Maybe you need to keep your shitty, unwarranted opinions to yourself, brainless.

[To be honest, it really had been an accident, but let it never be said Bill does anything halfway. He'll not only own up to it, he'll do it with style! The sax player flips up his eye patch to wink with his glass eye, grinning ear to ear.]

[ Johanna doesn't react, except for her expression darkening further at the word 'cute'. ] Considering you've still got one eye left, I'd think you'd be able to see where you're going and stay out of my way.

Okay, he would be lying if he didn't think Jo was super hot. But kind of in that "way out of his league" way that was super intimidating.

Worse, he had gotten lost on his way to his own trailer when he happens across her. He goes red to the ears and just kind of shouts inarticulately. He flails his arms back and up like he'd come close to touching something he shouldn't have. It's probably loud enough to be heard over her headphones.

Dear lord. She can see his reaction, let alone hear it over her music, and she pulls the headphones to let them rest around her neck as she raises an eyebrow at her bandmate.

[Parker raises a skeptical eyebrow at her lead, crossing her arms in the middle of the crowd.] You're the messed-up one here. You know you spaced out the the middle of a busy crowd, right?

Hey, don't fuck with me, okay? [ Johanna snaps as she straightens up, brushing herself off with a scowl. ] It wasn't intentional.

[Nariko hadn’t been sneaking around the Virgo tents!!! Not at all!!! … Yes, she had, and while Johanna wasn’t even a blip on her radar it was incredibly difficult to ignore that outfit, and the attitude that wore it. She raises her brows at the other girl, both impressed and surprised.]

Incredibly. You’re obviously taking advantage of it.

[She has no idea who this slip of a girl is but, damn, she’s earned a little bit of respect for actually leaving total isolation in that getup.]

[ Johanna's actually pleased with that response, lifting her chin slightly and turning her music down slightly to respond. ] Might as well, as long as I'm not legally mandated to have a real shirt on. Public decency laws are such a drag in this sort of weather.

[Y'know, it's a funny thing -- a guy like him gets to dress in ways that just wouldn't fly for girls. He gets to wander around shirtless as a rule... heck, he's pretty sure the bosses'd complain if he put one on, because a torso like this draws in the girls more than the music does some days.]

[Anyway, the point is he's glad to see some of the girls have the same attitude towards skin. For only the purest and most feminist reasons, of course.]

More people, I'm hoping. [ Johanna is casual about it, running a hand through her hair and raising her eyebrows at the man. ] It'd be such a waste if I was the only one taking advantage of the weather.

[ The drummer of Cosmic Indulgence has been been spending the entire evening watching. Adrenaline is running strong again, but, even more than before, it's making him watch and learn, more than picking fights...

... as such.

But, just like that one party before, people seem to get a moment of confusion, mostly brief, and then walk it off.

People have 'caught' Johanna - yes, he's taken care to learn the names of those who'll attend - after her moment, so Richard mostly just... checks up on her, later. ]

So. How does this wonderful festival agree with you?

[ There is plenty of mockery in wonderful - the medium-height man with dark hair and hyacinth-colored eyes is not exactly the kind of bubbly cheerful person who just laughs everything off. Laughing, politely, at what's happening is more his speed. ]

[ Johanna slurps at a soda she picked up at some point, raising her eyebrows at the guy who's just approached her. Finishing her sip, she lets out a satisfied sigh as she looks around. ] It's decent. Kind of nice to meet all these fans in one spot, but waiting for the other bands to perform is a fucking waste of time.

[ Then she turns to look him over unashamedly. ] Johanna Mason. Do I know you? [ Because she might know people's names, but that doesn't mean she actually wants to interact with them out of nowhere. ]
