☆THE FESTIVAL Welcome to the South Vista Music Fest! An enormous, weeklong festival with hundreds of bands performing nearly 24/7, the Music Fest is a quarter annual event that celebrates all manners of local talent, both big time and small time. Every band from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment will have performances to do, including the freshly recruited – you better have your act together, because now is your time to shine! Player bands will be performing roughly once a day, with bands from the first app round predominantly with evening slots and the newest bands with predominantly afternoon slots. There is definitely a hierarchy to the scheduling - Pride and Virgo claim almost all of the prime performance times, while other labels are forced to deal with the leftovers. You've definitely been chosen by the winners of the music industry in these parts, that's for sure. Shuttles will be available to take people back to their relative HQs in their downtime, but they're also allowed to hang out and enjoy the festivities if that's what they prefer. Stuff is happening all day and night, so it's really just a question of how much you can party while still being conscious for your own show. Your managers will tell you that the company CEOs pay extra close attention to this event, so that you need to be on your best behaviour. The festival takes up a massive amount of floor area with multiple stages of various sizes and a large amount of glowy display screens. It's set up on the ground floor of the cityscape, meaning that the suspension roads and walkways above have been programmed to add to the ambient lighting all day and night. ► TRAILER PARK KIDS: For those that just want to chill, there is a massive VIP area reserved for labels to park various trailers for their musicians to hang out in during downtime - one for each band. They aren't quite as big as the tour buses, but they are comfortable and well stocked. Each is equipped with two beds and a bathroom/shower. Pretty much every local band you know of is here, including the notorious Predator. Nose around their trailer at your own risk. ► IN THE SPOTLIGHT: With at least six performances in a span of six days, there is plenty of time for shenanigans to go down both back and center stage. Time to show your mettle, and to hope that some asshole doesn't take all the best food items from the backstage catering tables before you can get to them. ► ATMOSPHERIC NOISE: If you dare brave the storm, there is a massive quantity of merch, vendor, and food booths available for your perusal. Many fans endeavor to spend as much time at Music Fest as possible, and so the space is very lived in, with large groups of people hanging out in well populated lounge areas. Depending on how popular you are, it may be difficult to get around without getting swarmed by your fans. ► DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER: And all the while, the strange memories continue. The label's newest members will have started to feel strange as of November 6th, and by the time of the Fest almost all of them will be discovering their first memories regains. The first one should be based on the alignment you chose, but the rest can be whatever you want. New character may regain up to 4 memories between their arrival and the end of November.

[Finnick raises an eyebrow at her, lifting his head to regard her thoughtfully before lying it back down again and shrugging a shoulder.]

I don't know - that's a cheap kind of popularity, don't you think? All flash and no substance. If we wanted to be popular with the kids we could get in on a movie soundtrack or something.

[Finnick doesn't sound too hyped about the idea, though. Doesn't sound like he cares much.]

[She shrugs lopsidedly, perhaps a little too distracted to worry about him passing judgement.]

I dunno... sure, it's flashy, but kids really care about it anyway, you know? The way they get into stuff is so –they're so passionate. [She's clenched a fist without realising it.] They're not even a tiny bit pretentious.

[Finnick gives her a suspicious sideways glance.]

Yeah, but they don't buy albums.

[He waves his hand at her dismissively.]

Besides, that's not our image. You wanna write and produce something like that, bring it up with Alex, see how he likes the idea.

[cherishthistag]

[Undyne bristles a little, and when she scowls she seems more like her usual self.] I didn't mean – [Huff.] Tch. Whatever. Maybe I just wish the people who liked our work were that... earnest about it...

[Which – kind of, yeah, but also she just misses kids looking up to her.

Or. Well. Misses? She's not sure where that came from. When have kids ever looked up to her? Undyne trails off, frowning at the opposite wall of the trailer.]

[He understands the sentiment, but it's odd hearing it from Undyne like this. She sounds more genuine than he's ever heard her, too, which isn't saying a whole lot, but it confuses him nonetheless.]

Well... I'm sure some of them are. That's not really part of our demographic, though.

[cherishthistag]

[Her attention snaps back to Finnick, and she frowns at him for a moment.

Then she gets up abruptly, her ponytail whipping behind her as she almost flings herself upright off the bed:] I said whatever! It doesn't matter. I'm tough and I don't care!

[He puts his hand up, defensive, looking at her like she's lost it a little.]

Fine. Try not to break anything, please.

[He sounds less afraid that she'll do something and more annoyed that she might.]

[cherishthistag]

[Undyne scowls, clenching her fists like she really wants to break something.] Fine. [She says it like this is a great inconvenience.]

Just – forget I said that.

[She'd certainly like to forget it. It's not the kind of thing she's supposed to think, right? But it doesn't feel wrong, and that frustrates her even more.]

[A very put-upon sigh and a dismissive handwave.]

Forgotten.

[cherishthistag]

[She leans against the wall with a kind of frustrated sigh, and pushes a stray lock of hair out of her face.]

What were you up to out there anyway.

[Please let's talk about anything else.]

[Finnick's all too happy to change the subject, though he still looks annoyed. That's just his face though. And his tone of voice. And his body language.]

I went to watch some of the other bands and ended up signing autographs for a while.

[He glances over at her.]

A few of them asked about you.

[cherishthistag]

[She looks back over, brightening a little in spite of his blatant irritation.] Oh yeah? What'd they say?

[thelittlemerman]

[He looks up at the ceiling of the trailer, like he's bored.]

They said, "do you know if the girl who pushed the piano off the stage will be signing autographs soon?"

[cherishthistag]

Hah! Man... I hope no one's gonna be disappointed I'm on drums now. [Undyne grins, flashing the gap between her front teeth.] Think I could get away with hurling a hi-hat off the stage?

[Maybe.......she is joking..???]

[He shrugs and makes a face like it's outlandish but also that he doesn't care.]

As long as you don't hurt anyone. I don't think we're famous enough for Virgo to settle any huge lawsuits for us just yet.

[cherishthistag]

[She sighs and leans back, rolling her eyes a little.]

You know you're no fun, right?

[thelittlemerman]

[Oh, wow. He pauses and the look on his face could be described as "gently but deeply troubled." He looks at Undyne for a moment in silent contemplation, trying to figure out how to respond to that.]

I can be fun.

[cherishthistag]

Yeah? [She folds her arms, looking amused.] What have you ever thrown into an audience? Or do you just get underwear thrown at you?

[thelittlemerman]

[He still looks uncomfortable and slightly defensive now.]

You don't need to throw things into the audience to be fun.

[cherishthistag]

It's a good start!

[Finnick is thinking very hard on this. Usually he would just brush this off but... wow this has thrown him for a loop.]

I used to be fun.

[He wants to say he doesn't know what happened but thinking about that too hard kind of makes his brain hurt.]

[cherishthistag]

[She blinks. She's kind of... only just noticed how weird he's being about this.] Uh, what...?

[thelittlemerman]

I did. I don't know what...

[He sounds genuinely upset by this. But then he takes a breath and shakes his head.]

Whatever. I don't need to be fun, just good at my job.

[cherishthistag]

[She pauses for a second. She shifts a little, frowning.] You don't think your job is fun?

[thelittlemerman]

Of course I do. That's different. Just because I'm having fun doesn't mean I'm acting in a way that you find fun.

[He's back to being defensive and kind of bratty, as if Undyne's definition of fun is ridiculous and outlandish and gosh he shouldn't have to worry about acting like that anyway!!]
