☆THE FESTIVAL Welcome to the South Vista Music Fest! An enormous, weeklong festival with hundreds of bands performing nearly 24/7, the Music Fest is a quarter annual event that celebrates all manners of local talent, both big time and small time. Every band from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment will have performances to do, including the freshly recruited – you better have your act together, because now is your time to shine! Player bands will be performing roughly once a day, with bands from the first app round predominantly with evening slots and the newest bands with predominantly afternoon slots. There is definitely a hierarchy to the scheduling - Pride and Virgo claim almost all of the prime performance times, while other labels are forced to deal with the leftovers. You've definitely been chosen by the winners of the music industry in these parts, that's for sure. Shuttles will be available to take people back to their relative HQs in their downtime, but they're also allowed to hang out and enjoy the festivities if that's what they prefer. Stuff is happening all day and night, so it's really just a question of how much you can party while still being conscious for your own show. Your managers will tell you that the company CEOs pay extra close attention to this event, so that you need to be on your best behaviour. The festival takes up a massive amount of floor area with multiple stages of various sizes and a large amount of glowy display screens. It's set up on the ground floor of the cityscape, meaning that the suspension roads and walkways above have been programmed to add to the ambient lighting all day and night. ► TRAILER PARK KIDS: For those that just want to chill, there is a massive VIP area reserved for labels to park various trailers for their musicians to hang out in during downtime - one for each band. They aren't quite as big as the tour buses, but they are comfortable and well stocked. Each is equipped with two beds and a bathroom/shower. Pretty much every local band you know of is here, including the notorious Predator. Nose around their trailer at your own risk. ► IN THE SPOTLIGHT: With at least six performances in a span of six days, there is plenty of time for shenanigans to go down both back and center stage. Time to show your mettle, and to hope that some asshole doesn't take all the best food items from the backstage catering tables before you can get to them. ► ATMOSPHERIC NOISE: If you dare brave the storm, there is a massive quantity of merch, vendor, and food booths available for your perusal. Many fans endeavor to spend as much time at Music Fest as possible, and so the space is very lived in, with large groups of people hanging out in well populated lounge areas. Depending on how popular you are, it may be difficult to get around without getting swarmed by your fans. ► DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER: And all the while, the strange memories continue. The label's newest members will have started to feel strange as of November 6th, and by the time of the Fest almost all of them will be discovering their first memories regains. The first one should be based on the alignment you chose, but the rest can be whatever you want. New character may regain up to 4 memories between their arrival and the end of November.

And lucky for Rei, Meril opened the trailer door. When she saw the other girl, she smiled -- very faintly, but definitely a smile nonetheless. "Hello, Rei."

"I came to see how you were doing, figured you might be away from the crowd." She is certainly not helping her image of a tryst going on between the two of them.

In this crowded atmosphere, likely no one would notice -- the more so since the bands and even the labels seemed to be freely intermixing. With conditions as they are, stopping them would be very difficult.

Still, Meril would almost welcome the rumors, if for no other reason than to help take the attention off Greg.

"You guessed right, although it is a little shame. I would like to watch the other bands perform from the audience."

In truth, given Rei's current romantic situation, Meril would be far, far preferable. It would keep attention focused on the two of them, rather than on what was actually going on. An interlabel romance was budding and that would mean trouble.

"Well...you still can? Nobody is saying you have to remain in costume."

"That is true." Reaching behind her, Meril caught up her braid and brought it around to wave the end of it at Rei. "But I am very identifiable nonetheless."

Whatever other disguises she might put on, ankle-length silvery hair just couldn't be concealed that easily.

Rei smiled and stepped closer, putting one foot on the trailer steps.

"I can help you disguise that. If I can hide my hair and go out into town, I think I'll be able to help you with yours. May I come in?"

"Oh? You have something in mind?"

Rei's hair, while lovely, was not nearly as distinct as Meril's -- but she was willing to give her the chance. Meril stepped out of the way, offering implicit permission to enter.

"I do."

Stepping inside, Rei looked around, taking in the sights.

"We'll need a pair of hairbands, and a hat or wig. I've got just the trick."

"Most of my hats tend towards the distinctive rather than the practical, I am afraid." But the hairbands are easy to get -- Meril heads over to her suitcase, as opposed to the closet full of absurd outfits, to begin digging some up.

"That's fine." Rei laughs, starting to fish around in her bag and pulling out a bandana. "It's a little Rosie the Riveter, but it will do."

Taking a seat on the bed she pats it. "Turn around, I'll get to work. With this much hair, it's a two woman job."

"I hope that is a very strong bandana." Meril brushed her hair out from behind her as she slid onto the bed. Her hair was every bit as tough and thick as it had to be to reach that length, though she certainly helped by taking care of it.

"It can hold mine, so it should be." Rei didn't exactly have thin hair either. Quickly, she started running a brush through it to get out any lingering tangles, and then she began the process of braiding it into three tight braids.

"The trick is to reduce the space it takes up as much as possible, and then tie it up around your scalp. You and I...and people with hair like ours, have to do three braids at least."

"That technique keeps me walking." She could put the last couple of feet of hair in a braid like that easily enough, though past that the feat was too much for one woman to manage easily.

Rei worked diligently, careful not to tug too hard. The braids took time, but they were making progress.

"Trust me on this, okay?"

"I do." Meril might have been terrible at socialization in general, but trust came surprisingly easy to her. She considered herself a good judge of character, at least...

"Glad to hear it." Rei finished the third braid a moment later and started to lay them atop her head in tight coils.

"This is definitely a bit much for one person, so you may want to call me next time, or have a bandmate do it."

"You see why I never make the attempt. They do not understand." Greg was the only one who could even come close, and he had certainly never braided his hair in his life.

"Well. Call me then, it's not like you're too far away."

And with that, she ties off the bandana, fitting it snugly over the silver braids.

"Now, have a look in the mirror."

Meril did, sliding off the bed to go check herself in the narrow mirror in front of the closet.

"Very well done. Though I almost feel like I am about to fall over. I will adjust, though." That was just a lot of weight to pile atop her head, after all!

"Well, there's only so much I can do. Get changed and let's go see some of the sights."

Taking Rei at her word, Meril undid the few buttons of her dress to shed it, without much regard for any proper care. It would come to no meaningful harm just lying on the trailer floor, after all. Her stock of T-shirts all looked cut from the same cloth, so she picked one without looking to pull it over her head.

And Rei very politely turns the other way...

Luckily, getting dressed again took very little time; Meril was efficient and unconcerned about her appearance. The only real delay came when she started to slip on sneakers. "I am contemplating making a fuss about painful shoes," she muttered as she sat back on her bed to tie them.

"You should," Rei replied. "You'll look better walking without a limp."

"That is easily answered." Meril tugged the laces a bit tighter than strictly necessary, a little annoyance bleeding through. "I should not be walking around."
