☆THE FESTIVAL Welcome to the South Vista Music Fest! An enormous, weeklong festival with hundreds of bands performing nearly 24/7, the Music Fest is a quarter annual event that celebrates all manners of local talent, both big time and small time. Every band from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment will have performances to do, including the freshly recruited – you better have your act together, because now is your time to shine! Player bands will be performing roughly once a day, with bands from the first app round predominantly with evening slots and the newest bands with predominantly afternoon slots. There is definitely a hierarchy to the scheduling - Pride and Virgo claim almost all of the prime performance times, while other labels are forced to deal with the leftovers. You've definitely been chosen by the winners of the music industry in these parts, that's for sure. Shuttles will be available to take people back to their relative HQs in their downtime, but they're also allowed to hang out and enjoy the festivities if that's what they prefer. Stuff is happening all day and night, so it's really just a question of how much you can party while still being conscious for your own show. Your managers will tell you that the company CEOs pay extra close attention to this event, so that you need to be on your best behaviour. The festival takes up a massive amount of floor area with multiple stages of various sizes and a large amount of glowy display screens. It's set up on the ground floor of the cityscape, meaning that the suspension roads and walkways above have been programmed to add to the ambient lighting all day and night. ► TRAILER PARK KIDS: For those that just want to chill, there is a massive VIP area reserved for labels to park various trailers for their musicians to hang out in during downtime - one for each band. They aren't quite as big as the tour buses, but they are comfortable and well stocked. Each is equipped with two beds and a bathroom/shower. Pretty much every local band you know of is here, including the notorious Predator. Nose around their trailer at your own risk. ► IN THE SPOTLIGHT: With at least six performances in a span of six days, there is plenty of time for shenanigans to go down both back and center stage. Time to show your mettle, and to hope that some asshole doesn't take all the best food items from the backstage catering tables before you can get to them. ► ATMOSPHERIC NOISE: If you dare brave the storm, there is a massive quantity of merch, vendor, and food booths available for your perusal. Many fans endeavor to spend as much time at Music Fest as possible, and so the space is very lived in, with large groups of people hanging out in well populated lounge areas. Depending on how popular you are, it may be difficult to get around without getting swarmed by your fans. ► DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER: And all the while, the strange memories continue. The label's newest members will have started to feel strange as of November 6th, and by the time of the Fest almost all of them will be discovering their first memories regains. The first one should be based on the alignment you chose, but the rest can be whatever you want. New character may regain up to 4 memories between their arrival and the end of November.

In the Spotlight-

[For some reason Trucy is rocking that stage today. System Crash is usually pretty good at getting a crowd up and dancing, but she's taking it to a whole new level. Of course she's also added her own flares to the show, such as her guitar vanishing into thin air when it's over.

Those who catch her backstage after the show will be greeted by the bouncy excitement of a girl still riding the performance high. And Trucy's energetic anyway, so.... enjoy that.]

Don't Forget to Remember-

[Trucy has spent most of the festival bouncing around excitedly and taking in all the sights and sounds like hyperactive kid. Which is why it's so odd to see her standing still. Actually, she seems to be completely zoned out. And she's staring at.... an instrument case? There's a lot of those lying around, but this one is for a large stringed instrument. A cello maybe.

In her mind, she's backstage. But not one of the stages here. And... they're looking for someone. Someone who could be in danger. And... that's where they found her. The image in her mind of an injured, unconscious woman lying in a contrabass case is as clear as day. She... she couldn't be... dead? Could she?]

[She whispers the name quietly, still lost in the unbidden memory.]

[She flinches slightly at the touch, but immediately tries to cover it up when she sees who it was.]

L-luce...

[A nervous chuckle.]

Sorry. I was kinda out to lunch there, huh?

You were spacing a little.

[And with everything that's happened lately, both in Virgo and what she's heard of Pride... Luce can't help but be a little worried.]

Is Lamiroir a song title, or something like that?

Huh? Um, no...

[It's a person. A woman. She's sure of that. But... she's equally sure she doesn't know anyone by that name. She shakes her head.]

It's nothing, don't worry about it.

[Subject change, subject change....

Oh! There was something she wanted to ask Luce about. Now is as good a time as any.]

But, since you're here, do you mind if I ask you something?

Hm?

[Well, that definitely has her attention.]

What is it?

Well...

[She fidgets a little, trying and failing to look casual.]

Say there was a guy you liked, but he was older and a little cooler than you. And he knew cooler and prettier girls than you. How would you get his attention?

[Oh. Luce's smile gets just a little sly, even though it's hard to deny she's delighted for numerous reasons. Being asked for advice, being trusted, simple happiness that someone she cares about has found another to be romantically interested in... It's a mix.]

Well, first I'd make sure I was talking to him regularly. Not all the time, but certainly enough to stick. Maybe the other prettier girls are cooler to some people, but I'd make sure I got to know him better.

I'd work on finding out what he's interested in- hobbies, subjects, you know. Something to show I'm interested in what he likes. It'd be useful for figuring out a kind of date to invite him to, as well. For example, if he likes science, then I'd find a good museum that might catch his attention.

Make the first steps, and see how he reciprocates.

Oooh, concentrate on his hobbies, that's a really good idea. But...I don't know about talking to him more.

[She frowns a little.]

See, ever since I figured out that I like him like him, it's been kinda harder to talk to him... I keep getting sort of... flustered.

Ah, crush jitters. They're a terrible bane.

[Especially when one is a teenager and hormones are essentially the devil.]

Well, have you been able to get his phone number before you realized that you like him this way? If talking to him in person is hard, then you might do a little better over text. You won't be able to read his body language, but, in exchange, you'll be able to think and read over your responses before you give them and it won't seem strange for there to be a wait.

That's a great idea! Really sneaky too! Too bad I don't have his number.... He sent me a private message on twitter once though.

[She contemplates her options. Maybe she could message him on twitter. Or she could just ask Luce for his number... Because what is subtlety? ]

Well, you can try that too, then! And maybe after you've talked to him on twitter a couple of times, you can ask for his number on there. It won't seem odd, then.

[Hopefully, anyway. If he's a Pride musician, well, you get all sorts over there.]

[...Which will probably guarantee it's not odd, actually.]

[She's read plenty of tabloid articles detailing Luce's exciting romantic exploits. They're probably mostly true, right? Trucy bounces excitedly.]

[ Ivan said that he would catch System Crash's next performance to see what magic trick Trucy does at the end of the show, if she really disappears and tries to get the audience to cheer for an encore. However, that moment doesn't come, and instead Trucy makes her guitar disappear. It's a nice touch, classy. He prefers it to whatever the band might have come up with. It's still fun without being gimmicky. He'll have to mention it to her.

Unfortunately, that has to be later as something else requires his attention. When he's wandering around the festival, he spots Trucy staring blankly at the instrument case. That's... odd. ]

Miss Trucy? Hey, are you all right?

[ No immediate response. Fearing his tendency to be unnoticed, he almost reaches out to tap her on the shoulder, but he pulls his hand back quickly. No. He should limit what he touches while he's like... like this. Ivan hopes he doesn't end up startling her. ]

Miss Trucy?

[She turns at the sound of her name, but still comes out of the reverie slowly, blinking as if waking up from a dream.

Then she notices just who it is that's talking to to her. That's when the redness springs to her face and she has to stop herself from squeaking in surprise.]

I- Ivan!!

[Well that's awkward. He probably thinks she's some kind of weirdo now. She is, but that's beside the point. Better say something else.]

Um....

[Perfect.]

[ Quickly holding up his hands in a "I surrender; don't hurt me" way, Ivan takes a step back to give Trucy more space. (And him too if he's honest with himself.) He's positive that's why she reacted to him like she did. Waiting for Trucy to calm or at least let her heart rate return to normal, Ivan speaks quietly. His voice is almost lost in the bustle of the festival around them. ]

Sorry... I didn't mean to sneak up on you like that. Are you all right?

I'm fine! Great, even!

[She laughs, but it sounds more nervous than cheerful. Somehow it was easier to talk to him before she realized she had a crush on him. Now she felt like she might say something stupid or mess up somehow.]

I guess I just... spaced out a little. Um, how about you? Enjoying the festival?

I am. It's been great to see everyone perform.

[ Still... He frowns with concern, and Ivan looks around for somewhere more private to talk. At the very least, someplace where Trucy can gather her thoughts without worrying about the public eye. He jerks his head toward a spot behind the stage, hoping that Trucy will catch his meaning once he starts walking in that direction. ]

I know! Everyone really brought their best stuff to this show.

[She does catch his hint, and follows him behind the stage. She keeps up a bright smile with her small talk, but is hoping he hasn't noticed the blush on her cheeks.

Actually, now that they're backstage, she notices that they're more or less alone. Could this be her chance? Or, no, would that seem too forward? Geez, this is hard. She's starting to wonder how anyone does this. Also, yeah, she's kind of spaced out again.]

Don't worry, Trucy. Ivan doesn't know how to friendship. Social skills are hard

[ Ulterior motives don't even come to mind to Ivan. He's simply worried about his friend. Friend... Yes, he can consider Trucy his friend. They're friends.

And now that they aren't so in the open, he turns and studies her face. Oh no. Her skin's flushed. Does she have a fever? He'd put a hand to her forehead like Luce has done to him when ill, but the idea of touching something has him internally cringing. Only if he must, he decides. ]

... Are you sure you're all right? Have you had a time to rest yet?

Huh?

[Oh, crap. Spaced out again. She giggles a little nervously.]

Yeah, maybe I am a little tired. Big festivals like this can be pretty fast paced, you know? But I'll be okay. I'm always okay.

[Argh this is such a good chance and now she's just wasting it by babbling about nothing. She self consciously tucks a lock of hair behind her ear, trying desperately to think of something cool to say.]

[ He's not entirely convinced, but he doesn't push it right now. Being around Pao-Lin and her condition has given him some techniques to make sure the other person is cared for even if they say they're all right. No need to overdo things. ]

Why don't you take a seat, and I'll get you something to drink. What do you like? Coffee? Tea? Soda? It's my treat.

[ Or they could get a bite to eat and something to drink together and find a quiet(er) place to talk. ]

[His treat? Ahhh so gentlemanly! Trucy knows she shouldn't read too much into this but that doesn't stop her heart from skipping a beat. Okay, play it cool.]

C-coffee is good! And I'll come with you. We can get it together!

[No way she's wasting a golden opportunity like this!]

[ He gives Trucy a smile and a quick look over. She looks better now, so a walk might help clear her head. Maybe she'll tell him why she spaced out. Maybe she won't, but either is okay as long as she regains her cheery self. ]

[She follows after him with the bounce back in her step. The food stalls at the festival serve everything from soda to bubble tea, so coffee is not difficult to find. Trucy points to one with a silly cartoon cup of coffee on the sign.]
