He arrives in casual clothes of course, dark jeans and a soft white zip-up hoodie with a t-shirt bearing the Nintendo star underneath. It's very easy to spot his friend after he walks in, since Ryouta's pretty tall. Although now he's sitting down, which gives Sora an idea.
With a grin on his face, he moves over to Ryouta as quietly as he can, though most of the crowd is making noise to cover his footsteps anyway. And when he gets directly behind the blond, he reaches around to cover the other's eyes. "Guess who!"
...Which is silly, since Ryouta invited him. But it's Sora, so silliness is to be expected.
no subject
"Hmm..." Because he's just as able be silly as Sora. "Is it Luce?" But before Sora can answer he surges to his feet. "Nope! It's Soracchi!"
He envelopes Sora in a bear hug, beaming broadly. "Sit! I'm trying to figure out what songs to sing!"
no subject
With one leg tucked under him, Sora sits on a nearby chair, grinning. "So is this another competition or are we gonna get to sing some songs together too?"
He's hoping they can at least do one or two duets just because they're fun, but his mind helpfully reminds him that mostly competition could mean another reward kiss if it came to that. Which is both a scary and exciting thought and causes a light blush, even if he's still smiling.
On one hand, at least he'd be sort of prepared for the kiss this time, which meant he'd be able to gauge better whether he liked it or not. On the other hand, he's not sure whether he's ready for that answer or even which he's hoping for. What happens if he likes it? What happens if he doesn't? Ugh, too confusing, focus on the karaoke, Sora!

"You want to do a duet first? And then have a couple songs each?" He smiles at Sora, a little flirty. "Since I chose the prize last time, why don't you pick?"
no subject
"Yeah! That sounds good." And... a prize. Right. He gets to pick. Okay then. "Uhm... I..." He laughs, it sounds a little awkward. But then he gets an idea and lights back up. "Oh, I know! Whoever wins has to tell a secret to the other that they haven't told anyone else."
The smile falters as he realizes. "...But I don't know if I really have one to tell, so... Maybe instead, if you win, you can..." He pauses, knowing what he wants to say, but it's... embarrassing. Whatever, here we go. "You can have the prize you got last time? Except, you know, with me participating too... this time..." Trailing off, he rubs the back of his neck, shyly.
no subject
"Sounds good to me," Ryouta said cheerfully.
He flips to the duet section of the book. "You got anything in mind for the duet? Like something from Disney? They have a lot of fun duets!"
While he paged through the book he thought about Sora's prize. A secret? Did he have any? He liked to think of himself as an open book. He's sure he could come up with something.
no subject
"I do like Disney a lot. Though I think most of those are like... love songs?" The question mark at the end can definitely be heard in his voice. Because he's not really opposed to singing a love song with... anyone, really, it's just a song. But it would be better if Ryouta was okay with that. "But that's fine with me."
no subject
He flips through the book. "'Love is an Open Door', 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight?' oh! How about 'Whole New World'?" He looks up Sora, beaming. "That's actually a favorite of mine. I can sing either part."

"I think I know what I'll sing for my first song." He grabbed another ticket and began to write on it.

He took his tickets in hand. "I'll go ahead and give these to the DJ. You want me to grab you anything to drink?"
no subject
While he's waiting for Ryouta to return, he takes out his phone and takes a picture of the tall teen from where he's standing. He's not entirely sure why. Just to keep the memory maybe?
no subject
"Here you go!" he chirped and sat back down. "Did you pick out a song?"

The DJ said it would be maybe five minutes before she called them up. So he used this time to mentally prepar himself. This was a performance after all, even if not an official one. He needed to be at his best for the crowd.
... And maybe he wanted to show off for Sora.

Soon their names were called and Ryouta all but bounced on his way to the stage. He grinned at Sora, then at the audience and waited for the music to start. Sora was doing Aladdin's part so he'd sing first.
no subject
He settles in a little before he begins, taking in a breath. Finally:
"I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did,"
this last part sung in his friend's direction rather than the audience, then he decides that it works better like that and mostly looks to Ryouta as he sings, occasionally gesturing or facing the audience when it fits.
"You last let your heart decide?
"I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
"A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us "No"
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming"
no subject
He does feel his heart flutter a bit when Sora sings at him, and he's going to ignore that. At least for now.
"A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you"
He pauses as Sora sings the little aside before continuing with his verse.
"Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feelings
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world"
He looks towards Sora for most of the song as well, but turns to the audience near the end, as if experiencing a whole new world with Sora.
no subject
Then he'll take his place in the audience.

Once done he gives the mike to the next singer and heads over to Sora. "You're after this dude," he told Sora and sat. "What did you think?"
no subject
no subject
He returns the nudge. "I mean, it's not like I'll be with Surviving Friday forever. I've got ambitions."
no subject
Then he's considering all of what Ryouta has said, and realizing for the first time that he'll probably only be able to stay with Flashstep for a few years. He doesn't usually think too much into the future, but that definitely makes him feel sort of sad, and his expression falls.
