Rei froze in place, palms flat on the table and hairs on the back of her neck standing up. Somehow she knew, instinctively, that something was happening. And then the words hit her in the head and her whole body jerks slightly, seat rattling. Thankfully her coffee is on the table already, and she doesn't make a mess of it.
