The sudden display of emotion confuses and alarms Jamie, and he's increasingly worried for what all this means - for Sora, for him, for everybody who's been having the visions and dreams and weird power manifestations. When Sora reaches for him, Jamie only hesitates for a second before he wraps his arms around him, one hand cradling the other boy's head and the other gently patting his back.
