It hadn't taken long for Sparks to find a job at Rooms and Boards Hardware; he had it on good authority that the job would suit him well, and he fell into the rhythm of the job with ease. He often returns to the apartment trailing sawdust and the scent of varnish. There's word that the shop gets frequented for stage prop supplies and the like before concerts, but nothing's come of it yet. He's pretty sure the stage hands aren't kidnappees, anyway.

Despite acclimating fairly well, Sparks is often listless back at the apartment, occupying himself with DIYs no one asked him to do. Get off the chair, it wobbles, he'll fix it real quick. The sink keeps leaking, he'll get in there and tighten it up, don't trip over him.

The worst of it is getting used to 21st century tech. It's all so... manual. He often catches himself waiting impatiently outside a door, before remembering there's this knob thing he has to deal with, or demanding loudly for an unseen computer to check for files on upcoming events or schedules. He never thought he'd miss building AI.
