Where: A nondescript two-bedroom apartment

Honestly, it's not a big enough apartment for everyone living there. "Furnished" evidently doesn't mean "quality furniture," but there are enough places to sleep to go around; the floors are scuffed; the front door sticks; the walls are (thankfully) thick. It's not the greatest place ever, but at least for now, it's home.

Sans. He's Papyrus's brother.

[They hesitate, before pulling the pad back to add:] I want to bring him back before Papyrus knows.

[Her eyes soften further, and she nods.] They mean a lot to you.

Are you . . . okay here?

[determinate]

[Frisk thinks for a moment, then shrugs before writing out their answer.]

I'm okay. It's not so bad here.

We didn't come to have fun.

[It's true that they're not really happy about all this. They're not okay with it. But they aren't hurt, they're living well enough, and they've got people on their side. They can be okay with that for as long as they need to be.]

[In that moment, Frisk reminds her very much of Steven, the small, earnest face shrugging off what by all rights should have been a weight.]

[Her fingers stretch out, rest gently, softly on their hair. She couldn't say why she does it. Only that it feels right, the soft strands under her palm.]

Frisk smiles warmly and reaches out to take Lapis's free hand in both of their own. It's nice to make friends.]
