"I haven't..." he starts, and then trails off. He feels like he should be crying, but he can't for some reason. There is an emotional disconnect that just makes him feel hollowed out instead of miserable. "I haven't felt like that since...since I remember being like this..."

He shakes his head, closing his eyes.
