Perhaps he could be more creative in a different setting. Ivan feels like this gloomy room is sucking the life out of him. He may have a ninja like image, but this dimly lit place doesn't inspire that kind feeling in him. (He better work on that before they actually have to start composing the piece Juno wants them to do.)
