Living in the City

Who: Kyouma Matoi (Koushi Sugawara) and OPEN
What: A few of his routines while he's trying to adjust in the city
When: All week and few a days after Fairy Trail
Where: Various places around Vista
Warnings: not much though I will warn if there is some

A. Come on and Sweat

One of the good things since he settled in Vista is the gym that's not too far from the abandoned mall he's been staying in for a few days. He still had to figure out how to get a proper place along with a job. On those days when he started to overthink his situation, he would visit the gym. There was nothing better than practicing a few serves to help calm his mind. Today he made a trip to the gym after the quietness of his temporary home made him uneasy. The noise of the gym along with the feel of the volleyball in his hand calmed him. He never thought he would miss the normal noise that used to occupy his life. Well, at least he could still practice volleyball.

Suga set up a few bottles on the other side of the net before he walked over and grabbed one of the volleyballs he took out. He rolled the ball in his hands for a bit, let out a breath, got into position and served the ball. When it didn't knock the bottle down the first time, he tried it again. He grinned when the bottle tipped over and walked over to get another ball. If someone walked in he wouldn't notice them, he had another bottle to knock down.

B. Looking for a bite to eat

Suga knew he couldn't spend all his free time at the time. On another sunny day he decided to walk around the city again. He hummed softly on his way down the street, taking in the surroundings around him. Vista City did look nice, almost as if it could be a normal city, if he didn't know everything he did about it. He became hungry after awhile, he started to look around for a place to eat. He stopped at a place called Brad's Diner. That sounded like a good place to take a break. He walked inside and took a seat in the nearest booth while he decided on what to eat. Maybe he would be able to get some information while he's at it too.

C. Come Rain or Shine

When he walked out this morning it was a sunny and bright day. Since it looked like a good day he decided to visit the mall, one of the places he hadn't gone to yet. He figured it would be a good way to get some information or see if maybe there were some job opening somewhere. However, he didn't expect the sudden shower along the way. Suga placed his jacket over his head as he jogged to the mall. He didn't expect to bump into someone on his way. Suga slipped his jacket off his head, the rain plastering his sliver white hair to his face as he looked up at the person he bumped into.

"I'm sorry about that!"

The mall could wait, though he would like to get out the rain soon.

And who is it he ran into, but the very tall woman that a group of people was clearly gathered around. She was doing a small segment for a TV show, and--how did this guy get past security?

Oh well. She shrugs, doing her best to play off the unexpected interruption.

"Guess one of my fans was a bit too eager to meet me, hm?"

Suga blinked in surprise as he looked up at the very tall woman. He didn't know her name, but he saw her pictures on the walls of the city when he walked around. He looked around at the cameras when he realized he was TV.

Oh boy. He had to think of something and quickly.

He gave a sheepish smile as he straightened up. "Yeah, I got really excited and couldn't wait. I can't believe I can finally meet you in person."

"I see." At this, Garnet motioned to the crowd, who were starting to look at him with...very unpleasant expressions. "But, what do you think I should tell my fans who waited here to meet me? You did, after all, cut in line."

That was what he was doing, wasn't it?

A line? Suga turned to see a crowd that didn't look very happy to see him. He really wasn't paying attention when he was so focused on getting out of the rain. Okay, he could work around this. He had to before that crowd either jumped on him security came by.

"Oh? I did? Sorry! I was actually on my way to the mall to go get something for you to sign when my excitement got the better of me. They can go before me, I'll go in the back of the line again. If that's alright with you?"

If he was able to make it to the back of the line then maybe he could sneak off to the mall before one of her fans tried to get him for cutting.

"Mm." Garnet pointed. "Its over there. Round the corner. Through the mall. Across the street."

A side-effect of wanting to spend as little time in Pride as possible, Terry's had to get a membership at a gym somewhere else. Which is fine, but the showers aren't as good and sometimes he has to call security on overeager fans and the treadmills are okay but he's been really spoiled by the ones in HQ.

Regardless, it's a nice place with good facilities. Like the courts, for instance. Terry stops on his way back to the showers and watches the guy throwing volleyballs like he's shooting at a range. Do all... sportspeople practice like this, or is this guy just out there? Still, he watches with an odd fascination as this guy hits his target, and waits until he hits the next one before he speaks up.

"Nice shot."

What luck, Tooru thought when he saw Sugawara inter the diner.

He followed the other boy in, dressed not in the gothic get up he had been ordered to, but in hoodie with a gray alien on it, a pair of khaki pants, glasses instead of contacts. And a normal cane. He leaned on his cane as he stood at the table. "Mind if I join you?"

And not waiting for answer Tooru sat across from him.

The line would take him where he wanted to go. He wished he had something that he could get her to sign, but he could get that when he made it to the mall. Once he had that he would get back in line and learn more about her from her fans. He turned to the woman with an appreciative nod.

"Thank you! I hope that I'll get a chance to get your autograph soon." Suga smiled before he excused himself and walked over to find a gap in the line to make it to the mall. He looked over his shoulder, similar to a fan that wanted to get one last look before he continued on his way. He may not have gotten a lot of information yet, though after bumping into her he had a feeling it would lead to more.

Suga felt good when he knocked down that other bottle. He may not have practiced as much since he entered Vista City, but at least he wasn't too rusty. He walked over to the other volleyball when he heard the compliment. He turned around with a sheepish smile. "Thanks, I'm glad I was able to make the shot. Would you like to try? Or do you need to use this court? I can find another one if you do."

"Welcome to Brad's, home of the spring strawberry roll! Looks like you could use a sample."

Just like that, the blond server is in front of him, dropping a plate with a delectable little sliver of dessert. "Don't think I've seen you around here before. New in town?"

Suga looked around at the diner while he thought about what to eat when he heard him. He looked up at Oikawa, he noticed his outfit was different than the one he had on when he bumped into him on the street. He tried not to frown when he saw the cane, instead he smiled and gestured to the spot across from him.

"Not at all. Please join me."

Terry lifted his hands defensively, a smile on his face but he's never been someone with good hand-eye coordination or really anything approaching athleticism. If it's not running he's terrible at it.

"No, thanks," Terry said, looking at the ball warily, "I've never exactly been. You know. Sporty."

Suga turned to the blond server before he looked down at the sweet treat in front of him. He thanked her before he picked up the fork and cut a piece off to try it. He happily looked up at her. "This is really good. Thanks!" Suga nodded as he ate another piece.

"Yeah I just came in a few days ago. I'm still feeling my way through the city, but it's not too bad. Do you know any good spots?"

Suga gave him a reassuring smile while he tossed the ball. "It's not too hard. Let me know if you want to try, I can show you some easy tricks on how to do it." He rolled the ball around as he looked over at the lone bottle still standing.

"I'll be done in a bit if you wanted to use this court. I keep missing that one for some reason."

"Nah, I was just on my way to the showers when I saw you..." He gestured to the bottles as he trailed off, looking at that last bottle too. "I mean-- That's still pretty good."

"Thanks! I haven't practiced in a bit, so it's good to know I haven't dropped that much." Suga hummed as he tossed the ball around. "You know the showers sound good. I've been in here for awhile, but I don't want to leave, until I get that last bottle. Would you mind if I tried again?"

Was that... Terry gave him a briefly curious look, was that a come-on or was this guy just feeling social? Probably the latter, right? Terry shrugged, assuming friendliness on this stranger's part, and gave the bottle another look.

"You don't need my permission," he gave a small laugh, "I can go if you want though? I don't wanna put you off or anything."

"Any time!"

'Di' paused to get a closer look. His voice sure sounded faintly familiar...was he with them? His answer seemed to confirm it, so she'd continue with a guided tour.

"Sure! I definitely love the spa, but I'm not sure that'd be your thing. There's a flower shop too...eheh, I really do love feminine things, huh? Anyway. There's a café nearby with the best coffee and light lunches. Here at Brad's we're all grease and treats."

She grinned. "I'm Di and I'll be your server today if that sounds good. How about it?"

"Right. Of course."

Did she seem disinterested? Tired? Frustrated? Who knew. Of course, if Koushi wanted to get back in line, he'd find it was a good hour wait - at least. However, Garnet is one of the abductees, so was he tempted to check it out more?

Tooru flirted with the waitress a bit, ordered something that looked somewhat healthy (A salad with grilled chicken and cranberries, which would probably be drenched in dressing when it came out) and looked at Sugawara.

"So, who the hell are you? And where's..." he trails off the 'my team' left hanging in the air. "Why are you here?"

He has to keep his question pointed. There's a body guard not too far away. He doesn't want to be caught and brainwashed again.

Suga didn't notice how it sounded. He really did need to go to the showers, he didn't know how long he spent at the gym, but the sweat down his back reminded him that it was a while. He gave a friendly grin as he tossed the ball in the air. "Oh it's fine I thought you wanted to use the court."

He shook his head. "No it's fine, I'm sure I can make it." He stepped a bit away from the stranger, to make sure he didn't hit him, before he got into position then hit the ball. He groaned when he missed the bottle again. Maybe he was a bit more out of practice than he thought. He walked back over and grabbed the next ball.

He moved to set it again when he looked over at the stranger with a friendly smile. "Hope this isn't too boring."

Suga found that he couldn't pinpoint how she felt like he normally could. He wondered how she felt and he wanted to know more. He knew the line was long, but he didn't mind. It would lead him to his original goal to learn more about the musicians. He walked inside the mall to look around for something with her face on it. He didn't have to wait long before he saw her on a poster in the window of a music store that had the name Cosmic Indulgence along the bottom of it.

Suga got the poster then walked to the back of the line. He talked with other fans to see about their favorite songs and more about Garnet, if he could.

Suga grinned over at the waitress before he ordered a chicken sandwich with an order of fries. Well, things were going better than last time.

At least it started out that way.

Suga frowned, it did make him wonder why they chose him, not someone from his team who knew him much better. There had to be some reason they chose him for this right? He couldn't figure out the reason for that at the moment, not when the irritation from before bubbled up inside him. He couldn't do the same thing from before, not with that body guard standing not that far away. He would have to change tactics a bit.

"I can ask the same question. About them don't worry about them, they're fine. Let's not talk about that, for now why don't you just call me Kyouma. We can start there. Anyway what brings you out here? Wanted to grace me with your pleasant presence again?"

It was a bit of a long wait - and for those behind Suga, it would be an even longer wait. Garnet was clearly a hot commodity. Once he gets there, however, she's waiting for him. At least its a small comfort.

"I see you waited. Good to see you again."

Terry laughed softly and put his hands in his pockets, eyes still on the bottles. It was kind of fascinating to watch, and it's hardly as if he had anything immediately pressing to get to. Practice for another one of Garnet's shows, no doubt. He didn't feel any special need to be there for that.

"Most of my court experience is coming away from dodgeball with a black eye," Terry shrugged, "watching bottles get used for target practice instead of me? That's not too bad."
