He pauses, weighing what he has to say, and might shift a bit, putting one foot behind him. "I hope this doesn't sound strange, but... a month or so before I announced the change of persona, I met an angel," he says. "Or perhaps... I was rescued by one, to be more precise. I was leaving a club one night and a mob tried to swarm me, looking for autographs or whatever... and then she appeared... out of the sky..." He pauses, still clearly shaken by all this and yet amazed as well. "She spoke with power, with authority: she told the crowd to fall back and leave me alone... and they did. They slunk away like chastened children, allowing me to escape and return here... I saw her following the car, as if she flew...

"After that... all the images of angels as we know them seem pale and trite by comparison. Not even the darker, earthbound types can hold a candle to her... I'm not sure I can keep up the persona, now that I've seen the reality."
