"I had fun with her. Someone between a mother and a lover...." He smiles to hide the knot forming in his stomach. "She introduced me to everything wonderful and everything horrible. She's the one that showed me how to make a lady feel like the most important woman in the world. She liked to buy me things, whatever I wanted, as long as I kept sleeping with her... 'friends'. She gave me weed. She gave me attention. She worried about me and always smiled when she saw me."

Shin takes another drink of his beer. "She made me feel like I was actually important." And, as messed up as it is, he loves her. It bleeds through into his voice, into every word he spoke.
