If there was something Roxas knew that Demyx didn't, it was that sense of being able to break free entirely of bonds that supposedly determined his fate. Roxas has the advantage of having fewer years in this servitude, if one can even call it that, to be able to easily break free from it, but for others, who's to say?

"Well.. honestly, I was just going to keep on doing what I'm doing. I kind of like playing drums. My manager is a little scary and crazy," that's watering it down, "but I really like what I do, and if anything I couldn't imagine myself doing anything but.. so, I'm going to stick with it until something or someone pulls me into a direction that says I shouldn't."

Which is how Demyx should live his life. But Roxas can't rain that revelation on him by himself.
