Even though he is apparently at least semi-conscious, Sans doesn't seem to react to Greg's song or Papyrus's voice - only the physical sensation it had on his body. Though his joints stay tense, he stops moving again shortly after started, holding still in the way someone does when anticipating something to hurt. It seems possible that whatever is going on with the headset they have him wearing is blocking out more than just his sight.
