I can't wait to ask him if he really wants to shoot you; he's there, it's pointed at you, and he's scared." Briefly, her eyes rake across his, pointed. "You know how much people are capable of when they're scared."
Her voice steadies, rises. "If you weren't paying attention, I didn't shoot him. I made sure he couldn't move so he couldn't shoot you.Violence would have been taking him apart, and I didn't; I just made him afraid. I protected you, and I would have protected 3."
