She isn't good enough friends with Muraki to really pry, even if it's clear he's hedging. She already made one attempt and was rebuffed. So she offers instead:

"You know... if things aren't just nothing, I'm sure your friends wouldn't mind offering a listening ear." If he wouldn't confide in her, maybe he'd confide in another.

"Well, maybe you should just run away from the festival, go on a cruise or something," she laughed though she was being serious as well.
