PRIDE HQ
[It's a lot to wake up to-- Terry can't decipher it at first, but it feels familiar and uncomfortable all the same. This deafening noise in his head it's a struggle to think through.]
[Eventually he drags himself to the café, thinking maybe he's just going stir crazy from staying in the penthouse all the time. He brings a notebook and his loudest headphones, sitting with his soup and the loudest music he has to hand. Maybe he can work through it. Maybe he just needs something to focus on.]
[Or maybe not.]
[It fucking hurts. Like something's screaming for his attention and he can't pick it out of the noise.]
[He kinda just ends up spending more time with his head in his hands then he does writing or eating.]
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
It's gotta be the building right. Enough weird shit goes on in there that it's not so out there he'd be hearing things. All he knows is he has to get away from it.
But it just follows.
Terry's walking aimlessly when he catches something he's absolutely not in the mood to deal with right now. ”Hey, isn't that the guy from Cosmic Indulgence?” “Yeah, Trauma. Hey! Trauma! We love your band!!!”
Why do these things happen to good people?
He's more than happy to entertain fans most days, but right now? His skull feels like it's splitting and he kinda hates everyone in the world right now. But he puts on his game face anyway.
It's somewhere in the sudden onslaught of selfies and autographs that there's this… Moment of clarity. One of them is being particularly obnoxious and it's like he zeroes in on them, totally blanks out until they're yelling about ‘how cool it is’ and asking how he knew. Apparently like an idiot he drew a bee with his autograph and a dumb comment about nightmares.
At least he didn't freak anyone out? But they're all clamouring for his attention and backing up with stuff about how he needs to go isn't doing much.
Someone help?

[Though now he wonders how much of his stuff she has.]
no subject
Who else would have it? Either it's with you, got left at Max's or it's with me.
[As if this is the biggest no duh ever. And he doesn't want to know the answer to that question, does he?
As if on cue, the waitress comes back and Yuffie grins at her, winningly and promises her an awesome tip and all that, and then redirects her attention back to Terry. Her grin is less winning and more slightly terrifying.]
No excuses. Eat up or else.
no subject
[He's not getting into it. Especially when his food is here. He forces a smile for the waitress and thanks her, and then frowns at Yuffie.]
Yes, mom.
[It'd be easier to petulantly eat soup if this wasn't... Actually really good.]
no subject
Puh-lease if I was your mom you'd actually listen to me..
[She kicks up her feet back on the table, and tilts her head and gives Terry a look.]
If the working thing isn't working you should probably try and crash or somethin' if your head hurts bad enough that you jump to stress cancer, dork.
no subject
[He reaches over to push Yuffie's feet off the table.] It's why I tried working through it.
no subject
What'cha mean?
[She now uses the sandwich itself as a pointer instead of just parts of it.]
Like the usual kinda weird dream crap [AKA: memories and stuff that she's not about to clarify in public] or what?
no subject
[Good lord a pepper flew right out of the sandwich into his soup. Terry sighs and fishes it out, flicking it back at her without even a second thought.]
I'm, uh. It's like I'm hearing stuff or something. ['Like' he's hearing things. Okay.] Probably stress.
no subject
[Yuffie's eyes narrow and then she seems to notice the pepper that's been flung at her and landed on her arm. She then proceeds to pop it in her mouth like that's not a ridiculous thing to do.]
You're gonna need to elaborate on that. Like. Really.
no subject
I dunno, it's-- [Mm, soup.] It's like a hundred people shouting at once.
no subject
[Yuffie is still giving him that same narrow eyed look from across the table.]
What're they saying? I mean...Think it's..[Yuffie pauses and tries to think of a way to say 'Think it's Baryl doing something without actually saying it outloud in public. They need code phrases or something. Seriously.]
....Our...friend?
no subject
[He sighs and casts a look around the room.] I can't make anything out, it's just. It's just loud.
no subject
Ter.
It's not exactly crowded in here.
How do ya think you're um....[She points at her ear.] Hearin' things?
no subject
[Keep up Yuffie, come on.]
no subject
...Ya know if you're trying for winner of 'weirdest thing' happening to me, that's pretty high in the running but I still pretty sure Tido still wins.
[Yuffie Kisaragi, #helpful.]
no subject
[ha ha ha......]
Worst advice. Doesn't know it.
[Yuffie takes another bite and then pauses.]
What if you try to focus on it instead of ignore it. Maybe you can hear what they're saying then.
yuffie please no
#worst Yuffie Yuffie no.
Why not? If something was screeching in my brain I'd want to know.
no subject
[He shakes his head and stirs his soup with a sigh, frowning deeply. Even for him.] No fucking thanks.
no subject
Hey. That wasn't his fault- [Yuffie then says a word that...doesn't really sound like it is an actual word, but it's heavily implied that it's a rude name for someone by the placement in the sentence.
Yuffie doesn't seem to think this is weird in the slightest, and in fact doesn't seem to have noticed her language change at all.]
Between Luci's ...Woosh thing,[She gestures with her thumb. Woosh thing apparently stands for 'lighting things on fire'] and me somehow managing to fix where someone's face got enforcered, I'd say it's worth poking at.
no subject
[He can't shake the feeling that this is a terrible idea, but he knows Yuffie and she's not gonna let it go until he at least gives it a try, so Terry closes his eyes and tries to focus. Deep breaths as he tries to shut out the noise and focus on one thing-- it feels like a skill he never wanted coming back to him. Like part of him already knows how to do it.]
[Maybe it's proximity, or it could just be the fact that she's really annoying him at the moment, but his mind zeroes in on Yuffie. Slipping easily through her subconcious for something... Dark? Something hidden.]
no subject
Things fold over in the back of her mind, placed terror of Santiago is there, somewhere similar is the horrible laughter Yuffie keeps hearing in her dreams when the world goes green. A boogeyman come to life and somehow more terrible as something she was fighting as an adult instead of 'the Silver General' there to take her home.
And then, beneath that is the sound of her father through a door walled shut from the outside, to keep her in. Keeping her in the dark.
Ask your conscience. How can you try to hide something so important? Stay in there and reflect on what you’ve done!”
His voice and others berating her, calling her stupid and wrong, saying that she'd brought ruin and disease when she'd done nothing. They were so willing to hurt her, to call her wrong they were willing to attack the training hall of all things, throwing rocks and screaming. Even when she'd told them what had really happened, even when Yuri had, her father's voice and his anger was somehow the worst, and he'd never really admitted what he'd done. How he'd let himself believe the worst. Maybe he still did. Maybe they all did.
Yuffie as she is doesn't remember that, not really, but she's close enough to the surface nowadays it wont take much at all for her to remember it and she's dreamed of it. ]
So? What's the sitch?
no subject
You're afraid of... [His breathing is surprisingly ragged and he trails breathlessly, but the concern on his face is more for her than himself.] Was that-- Was that your dad?
no subject
[Yuffie pauses, and she looks horribly confused, staring at him across the table like she's not sure what's happening.]
What are you talking about?
[She sets down her sandwich to better pay attention to him.]
Ter, are you okay>
no subject
[He's still looking intently at her, expression the definition of worry.]
