☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2

What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

Where: Sevetop Entertainment’s studio.

No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.”

[ He just wants to pick her up. Grab her and run. Get away from Pride and everything and just be with his little girl. It's his chance. His opportunity to be the dad his dad never was. But he can't. He can't because he doesn't want to endanger her. Even if she's the daughter the soon to be 10th. Even if she will one day be the 11th, he can't risk her. Not here.

He grins though when she goes into Italian and he reaches out to ruffle her hood. Of course his baby girl would be so smart and realize people might be listening to them. ]

That's a relief. I know she'll look out for everyone.

[ His smile grows even larger. He gets that look. That soft look that will one day only be reserved for Bester. All because his baby girl called him papa. Goddamn he wants to hug her so much. ]

You're right. After the cameras are off. I mean you just won this. So we can go. I'm sure there's a place we can talk. I'll guy you gelato... You...You like Gelato, right?

[avidita]

[For some reason, they feel like they should apologize to Bester when they get back home...]

[But that's later. For now, they give a nod.]

I do, don't worry.

[Please don't worry, this is already weirding them out. With that, they switch back to English and give a sweeping bow for the cameras.]

I'll escort you now to freedom, king.

[That should satisfy the crew at least a little bit. For now, Mammon starts to guide him out. The sooner they're done with this part of the charade, the better.]

[variaboss]

[ Bester takes apologies in nice expensive meat just like his daddy.

He smiles a lot more at the little bow. He almost tells her that Princesses shouldn't bow. Because she is. She is his princess, his little girl. ]

Thank you so much, noble hero.

[ He'll follow right along behind her, looming. Looming like he's going to be super overprotective. He is. ]

[avidita]

[The overprotectiveness doesn't go unnoticed once the pair of them have finally left the exit from the Lindworm mouth. There's some confetti, and then the film crew waiting starts to hustle around... although they give an awkward amount of space between the two of them. Finally, someone who's probably some poor intern comes up, smiling uncertainly.]

Ah... There's a post-challenge interview for both the participants. Is it alright if we separate you two...?

[Ignoring the poor woman, Mammon looks up to Xanxus to see his answer.]

[variaboss]

[ He's all but looming over his baby girl. He tries not to though. He doesn't want to make more trouble for her than he probably already has. But this is his daughter and he's overprotective.

He frowns a lot and sighs. ]

It's fine. Since we're under contract, interview away. Be sure you pay her for it though.

[ He'll let himself be led away for the interview, but he'll try and keep an eye out for his Avidita. ]

[avidita]

[For the first time, there's a pleased little smile on their face. Awww, he remembered their main passion in life. There's a slight wave as they're lead away, and then it's around fifteen minutes of faking their way through an interview.]

[It's nothing they weren't expecting ever since he went easy on them, and they feed all the lies and not-quite-truths that can excuse the situation. They saw him at the charity concert a few months back and managed to meet him, et cetera.]

[Soon enough, they're allowed to leave, but instead they wait at the exit for him. They're a dutiful "daughter" if nothing else.]

[variaboss]

[ His interview is probably rife with the censor buzzer and blurring pixels. He's really impatient and he doesn't think the interviewers want to ever talk to him again after, which is fine by him.

It gives him time to get out of the Red Death outfit, though instead of just burning it, he's going to be keeping it. Yeah, he told Ryouta he'd meet after the show for some nice hard core sex in costume, but his little girl comes first.

That's right, Mammon, papa is giving up hot sex for you.

He'll show up moments later. ]

Ready to go, little one?

[avidita]

[They're so touched, they really are. Xanxus giving up his vices happens only by pure miracles, which is amazing since Mammon is sure any actual saint would faint at the sight of the Varia's sins.]

Ready, papa. [Since it seems to fit the scenario, they offer their hand.] I was surprised you recognized me.

[Seriously, how. How are they now pretending to be his kid? Mammon would love to figure out this bewildering mystery.]

[variaboss]

[ He's going to take Mammon's hand to walk out. He keeps looking over his shoulder to make sure they're not being followed. He's also going to try and shield his little girl from photographers. He doesn't want someone taking pictures of his child. His little Avidita is never going to be on the cover of a tabloid, so help him! ]

Of course I recognized you. I can't believe I had forgotten you. You're papa's head hasn't been right for a while. But I'm getting better. [ Maybe he's talking about the drugs or maybe it's because he's certain that someone has been messing with his head. Too many memories have come back for him to think he was really a musician. But it's better to keep that on the down low. ]

[avidita]

['Not been right' is putting it lightly. Still, Mammon can't complain. This is an even better in than the Cervello disguises had been.]

Is there any way I can help, Papa?

[variaboss]

[ He doesn't really know how to answer that. He doesn't know what she can actually do. Who she is. To him, she's his daughter so she might have inherited his fire, but he doesn't want her in danger. ]

Help? You can make sure those fucks never get a hold of you. Once they find out you matter to me, they might come after you. Hold you over my head to keep me under control since I'm not letting them drug me anymore. Other than that, you just need to be my little girl. You be safe and your papa will be okay.

[avidita]

Don't worry. I'm good at hiding.

[It's all they've been doing, after all.]

But we'll get to see each other, right?

[variaboss]

[ He gives her a soft smile and gives her hood a ruffle. ]

Of course you'll get to see me. You're my little girl. I'm nothing like my dad. I'm going to be here for you, even if it's not as often as we'd like. After all, your papa has to work. Just remember that I'm working hard and playing my music just for you, so that I can give you a good comfortable life.

[avidita]

[Yikes. That's a hot button they sure hope doesn't blow up in their face when he remembers everything properly. For now, they nod and peek out from under their hood.]

I'd like it if you could work closer to home so the family could see you again.

[variaboss]

[ Oh, he remembers the 9th. It's his very first returned memory. He just avoids thinking about him much. Besides, he's him and Xancus is Xanxus. They are totally different! ]

I would like that too, but I have no control as to where the band goes. If I did, we would stay in Italy all the time. But maybe the family could come and see us. I bet your auntie would love us.

[avidita]

[They hope the boss is a different father, because they really don't want to get frozen in a block of ice.]

Why not make your own company instead of staying signed on with them?

[Not that they want that either, but it'd be a step away from Pride.]
