Drip Drip Drop Little April Showers
Who: Usagi Tsukino and OPEN
Where: All over Vista
What: It's a rainy week and Usagi is missing home
When: All week
Warnings: None I can think of
A: Drip Drip Drop Little April Showers
It was raining. It was a surprise shower and the clouds looked like they would be there all week. But surprise or not, it was April, so Usagi always carried her umbrella on her during the month. She let out a sigh as she was walking home, her umbrella over her head. It was a brand new umbrella and it was covered in little rabbits and cats. It was so adorable how could she not purchase it? Besides, it allowed her to have more than one person under it too.
Which seemed to be a good thing, at the moment. As she walking back to her newer home, she saw someone under an awning, clearly stuck and without their own umbrella. She checked her watch. Well, she still had time before anyone else would be home. She headed over to them and offered a smile.
"If you need, I don't mind walking you to the bus stop or to get a cab or something?" She'd even walk them home if they really needed.
B: What Can Compare With Your Beautiful Sound?
Maybe this was a bad idea.
Usagi frowned as she flipped through the song-requests book. It was karaoke night at Brad's Diner and she had come to support the new idea but she had absolutely no confidence in singing. She also had absolutely no idea what half these songs were.
"Uuuugh there's so maaaany," she sighed as she kept glancing. "And half of these are duets," she mumbled. "At this rate I'm not going to be singing until it's over."
C: Drip Drip Drop When the Sky is Cloudy
Why? Why did this ALWAYS happen to her? She groaned and her shoulders visibly slumped forward as she held the umbrella over her head. She knew this was the address, she had the flowers to deliver in her arms, but the security guard was staunchly blocking her path.
"Oh come ooooon," she groaned, showing him the invoice. "It says right here, that I have a delivery for the band from the building manager! I just need to get in, drop it off, and then I'll be on my way!" she whined, growing more frustrated as this was now the third time she showed him the paper work and he had "called to the building manager" to see if they were actually going to let her in.
"I could have been gone by now! I'm not even staying to watch the band I just need to deliver these bouquets!" she stomped her foot, trying to leave before the band even arrived. "Don't you have anything better to do than stop me from delivering bought and paid for flowers!"
D: Your Pretty Music Can Brighten the Day
"EEEEEE!" the sun had made an appearance, finally! She loved rain, certainly, but she was like a sunflower, drawn to the light. Usagi was practically glowing as she spread out her arms and just spun around, letting all the warmth touch her skin as she walked through the park.
"Aaaah," she took a deep breath. The sun was warm but the grass and pavement was wet, the air still heavy but a rainbow bright in the sky. Her eyes were closed in content.
Which was perhaps her mistake as she took another slight spin... and her hand promptly smacked someone.
Her eyes snapped open.
"AAAAAH ARE YOU OKAY!?!" Goodbye good mood, hello panic.

A frigid voice addressed the guard, completely and utterly annoyed.
"Guard, allow her to drop off her flowers or I'll make sure you end up on probation."
no subject
Okay well... even Usagi was a bit cowed, always unable to handle it. Rei was always terrifying when angry. Even the guard seemed to really consider it.
"This is for your own safety, I'm not doing this because I want to," Usagi scowled as she knew that was only half-true. But as she was likely the reason for the heightened security because of the death of Angel and An.
She could only imagine what the labels were telling music venues.
no subject
"Does this girl look like she's any threat at all? I'd asked her to deliver these flowers to Mother's dressing room as a surprise and you're impeding her progress. Do I need to call management and ask them why you guards can't do something as simple as vet possible intruders. She's not armed, and that's obvious, and she's a friend at that."
no subject
Still, she was internally elated that Rei said she was her friend out in the open to someone other than her.
The guard frowned and looked at the two of them.
"Fine, if you want to escort her in, I'm not going to stop you." He opened the door for them, but clearly was unimpressed by the both of them but Usagi gave a begrudging "thanks" to him anyways. He couldn't stop friends and family from going backstage, unfortunately, building policy.
Usagi struggled to get the umbrella closed as she entered the building, accidentally splashing the guard as she shook all the excess water off it. She turned to Rei and smiled bright, about to hug her only to stop dead in her tracks and pull back, smiling a bit more restrained instead and just hugging the bouquets tighter. She tried her best to pull back her excitement so she wouldn't hurt Rei.
"Thank you, I was out there for 20 minutes before you came."
no subject
And with that, Rei brushed past him and inside, leading Usagi in and shaking off her own umbrella. Irritated with the man, she's already making a mental note to have Myra deal with that. They were celebrities, and guards shouldn't be talking back to them. Period.
Serena's hesitation is noted, and appreciated. Enough so that Rei steps in close to tug her into an awkward hug. It's not half-hearted by any measure, it's just not a glomp.
"I'm glad I could help. Asshole ruined the surprise, but he'll learn proper manners after a writeup."
no subject
She hugged back, her fingers curling in Rei's clothes for only a moment before she pulled away. She took a deep breath and smiled.
"I'm sorry the surprise was ruined," she offered gently. "Why don't you ah... show me where to go with these, and then I'll go."
no subject
Something about that statement didn't quite sit right with her though. This was a concert by her bandmom, after all.
"You can stay, if you want. I can get you a special seat."
no subject
She looked up at the mention of staying, and swallowed.
"I'd love to, really," and she was being honest. "But are you sure?" would Mrs. Ophelia be okay with it? "What time is the concert?"
no subject
"It's in two hours. I got here early, to take care of some backstage business. I'm absolutely sure you can stay, it is Mother putting on the show after all."
no subject
"What did you need to take care of?"
no subject
"I wanted to make sure of a few things, sound-checks and the like and also to check over the sheet music and arrange to be in the room when she found the song I wrote for her."
Matter of factly, Rei stated all that, like an old hand in the performing arts. Her focus though, is on Serena, an odd look coming over her face when she entered the room. There was something...familiar...about this. she can't say what exactly but...familiar.
no subject
"Oh a song, that's nice. What inspired it? Is it for a special occasion?" Usagi remained silent in mentioning how Rei's birthday was just around the corner. She didn't say anything regarding the look, not sure what to make of it.
no subject
"Fuck...not...again. Not now..."
no subject
"Rei! What's wrong?" she asked concerned, sitting down next to her as she gently pushed away some of Rei's hair from her face. Her hands were cool from standing outside in the rain, she hoped that would help her feel better. Was she the one hurting Rei? She swallowed, eyes darting back and forth to try and figure out what happened.
no subject
"...U-sagi...?"
no subject
At the coughing, she gently pulled away and pushed more of Rei's hair back.
"Stay here, I'm going to get you s-some water," she hurried over to the bottles in the room that were in the mini-fridge of the dressing room. She came back to her, crouching in front of her as she gazed up, placing the bottle in her hand.
Was this a dream? Was this... was this real? What did Rei remember? She tried to play it cool, taking Rei's hands to hide her shaking ones from sight.
"Deep breaths, drink this," she whispered.
no subject
"You followed me home. A small shrine, like you said. You never said why."
no subject
"You were- are, absolutely beautiful and so elegant and graceful," she also wasn't dating Mamoru at the time. "So ah-" she blushed a bit deeper. "I uh- followed you home. I was attacked by your pet crows, though, if that makes you feel a bit better," and she got ofuda'd in the face.
no subject
"Why didn't you ever tell me why?"
no subject
"It... how much more do you remember?" she asked, wondering if it was only their first meeting. She swallowed, grasping Rei's hand. "It's okay, if that's all, I'm just... it's been so long since I've heard you say that name."
no subject
She doesn't seem bothered by this. The memory had felt so justified...
no subject
"He had been forced to kidnap people near your shrine. At one point he kidnapped you. He was going to kill a whole bunch of people, including myself and another one of our friends," though she knew that had been because of Beryl's doing. She didn't mention anything about the senshi, if only because Rei hadn't mentioned it. "And... you did, you killed him, to stop him from killing me and Ami-chan, to stop him from hurting anymore people."
no subject
Rei scowled at the thought of being kidnapped, even though it was what'd happened right now too. She just...didn't like the sound of this person, and while the thought of taking a life wasn't fun, it was something that'd clearly been necessary.
"He used magic. Ice. And you...you were someone else."
no subject
Should she tell her? The Doctor already knew her, but should she tell her about Sailor Moon? Wouldn't Rei then ask if she was Sailor Mars?
She swallowed.
"I was, yes," she whispered, not sure how to really avoid this. "I... couldn't stop him, though, I wasn't strong enough," she offered instead. Everything had been so new and it had seemed like a lifetime ago.
"But it was years ago," she offered instead. She wanted to cry, unsure of what she could and couldn't tell Rei, unsure if she should be saying any of this but unable to deny her senshi a part of herself, of her past like this.
no subject
“You were like…Neptune and Uranus, and Venus and Saturn then. Which planet are you…?”
The discomfort isn’t missed, but Rei knew this was important, knew that she needed to press a little and get some of this information. It just wasn’t something she was willing to be left in the dark about anymore.
