Warnings: Nothing that I am aware of just yet but like Kido’s involved so god knows if she’ll behave.

How Kido and Momo snagged a spot on stage at this club will never be known. But in a late night set, there are two damn fools taking the stage. They’re “disguised” in the least disguised way possible—in the corniest callback in the entire world, they’re both in masquerade masks, silver and gold. Kido’s got a dress and Momo a suit (that is just so very slightly too big) to match.

For being the shittiest disguises in the world, like, at least they’re super uncharacteristic for both of the ladies. At least they tried.

At least the music is good. Their first song is a duet, enthusiastic and bouncy. For neither of them being lead singers, their voices are actually pretty good. The second song is clearly Kido’s, with a slightly harsher sound and lyrics:

The set is short, and it’s corny, but Kido and Momo are enjoying themselves, and they’re enjoying themselves just as much when they leave the stage. They won’t ditch their masks just yet, instead grabbing a table somewhere in the back or moving to talk to people they know. Kido will tip her mask up at anyone she knows with a wink.

Normally she hates being on stage, or in the center of any attention. But she’s really, really excited tonight—mostly because she’s not hiding the fact she’s got possibly the cutest girlfriend for the first time. She is riding so high on that.

[Trucy checks to make sure no one is listening in and then lowers her voice.]

You can't tell anyone, okay? Because I haven't even told him I like him yet.

[She doesn't wait for a response though, she trusts Kido.]

[And maybe she can write in fancy calligraphy! And then fold the paper into something cute! Oh, she is so doing this now.]

[Kido shrugs with a grin. She likes it when Trucy's excited. She really hopes Ivan does not hurt her.]

Tell me how it goes. When are you gonna tell him anyway?

Oh my gosh that's right! There's probably a ton of girls just lined up to ask him out.

I'm not sure Momo's ready to go quite that public yet.

[She laughs a little but there's a real worry there. Momo doesn't like rebelling against her label. Kido sometimes wonders exactly how long she'll put up with it for.]

A collaboration's one thing. A date is another.

Oh, sorry. I'm kind of getting a little ahead of myself anyway, considering I haven't even asked him out yet.

[Trucy just gets excited and winds up several steps ahead of her plans. And it probably makes sense to keep cross label romances a secret anyway.]

[There's a moment's pause before Kido puts a hand on Trucy's shoulder.]

Just be careful, okay? You know I always have your back, right?

I know. But don't worry, I'll be fine. The worst he can say is 'no,' right?

[Which... might make her cry. But Trucy will bounce back. She always does.]

If he says no, he doesn't know what he's missing.

[And Kido will be a shoulder if it comes to that, should Trucy need it.]

[Trucy knows she can always count on Kido for that. But it's important for her to face the trials of her life with confidence.]

Anyway, I'll let you get back to your date. You don't want her to get lonely, right?

Probably not. But don't worry. It's not like she's going to mind if I take a few minutes for you guys.

[She puts her hands on her hips and frowns.]

Kido! She might not mind but you've still got to treat a lady right. It's important to put her first when you're on a date. Make her feel special. Girls like that sort of thing.

[Girls do? Or maybe just Trucy does. Also, she's never been on a single date so don't take any advice from her.]

All right, all right. [Kido laughs. She will ruffle Trucy's hair if her hair is at all ruffleable.]

She'll come first for the rest of the night. But I'm not sure I'll keep her if she gets that upset about talking with my family.

[Very ruffleable. She pouts a little though. It took forever to get that one piece of hair to stay put and now it's sticking up again.]

I'm not worried about that. You've got good taste, so I bet she's a keeper.
