I won't pretend that I intend to stop living
Who: erryone in Pride
What: recovering from the events of December 7
When: late December 7/early December 8 - ???
Where: Pride HQ and wherever else they're allowed to go
Warnings:Carnies? references to I Will Twist the Knife
So maybe you've just gotten back from the most mellow kidnapping ever and you're itching to tell your bandmates about what went on with the cool helmeted guys while everyone else was at that stuffy party. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a little while to tell them, but that's okay - surely you can keep yourselves occupied until everyone else returns.
Or maybe you're one of those who wound up at that party of Naomi's, and your night was a little less fun. Now you're back at HQ, possibly with mended physical injuries and almost certainly with a few new psychological scars. Now's your chance to check in on your friends and bandmates who missed out on all the trauma and deal with things as best you can.

[Her pen flops out of her hands.]
We were basically abducted by who knows who, to be honest. And then we suddenly pop back here and half the bands in the city were attacked by the other half.
...
[Her fists might be clenching at this.]

[Yuffie's attempt at a joke falls super flat. Okay, that's.... a pretty decent assessment. None of them were totally happy about how things had turned out, but then who would be? Yuffie was just happy that she and all of her friends were....at least mostly in one piece.]
....For what it's worth, I don't think it was their fault.
[She's aware how insane that sounds and she's been saying it to pretty much anyone she thinks is reasonable. She saw the look on Luce's face. Saw how hard she had to fight. Remembered about those cloaked guys crying for a reunion. The guy with the sword. It was all so similar.]

Her hands are still clenched, though whatever it is she's feeling, she's not letting on. Not yet, at least. She has to keep focused and not let those thoughts get in her way.]
What...when did it start? The attacks, I mean. By Virgo. During the party.

[Yuffie looks completely serious about this. Even only by reputation it's not something expected of her.]
Before that, everything was fine. Then after suddenly it was like everyone got happy pills and wanted to get you alone.
[Yuffie takes a drink from her tea, and then frowns.]
And more than one person who attacked freaked when they saw what they'd done. Like....really freaked.

["I don't think they were in control of themselves."]
Be honest with me. Do you think they were doing it willingly?

[Yuffie looks at Garnet across the table, and she is absolutely certain when she speaks.]
The person who stabbed me? Is my friend. And the second she was able to break free of what happened she tried to help.
[She has been a voice of attempted reason, for once, when it comes to the Virgo crowd. Though she's not been too loud about it where anyone's managers can hear her. She's gotten the idea that would be painfully stupid.]
It was like she snapped out of it. And then she was just her again.
[Like the man with the sword. Just like that.]

[This is starting to confirm some of her suspicions of what had happened at the party. The visions of various Virgo members attacking various Pride people...it made no sense, knowing a few of the Virgos from interaction. Now it was.
After a moment, she stands up.]
Hey. Has anyone offered you anything to drink?

...If you've got something better than microwaved tea I'll totally take you up on it?

[Yuffie is all smiles, especially because it means she doesn't have to get up again.]

[Garnet has acquired a fulltime nickname. Woo. Yuffie happily takes the juice and goes about drinking it. She's a bit like a kid at times.]

[She nods as she sits back down.]
You're not the only one who said anything about the Virgo people acting strange, only to snap out of it. The fact Santiago killed that singer...that couldn't have been coincidence, right?

[Yuffie was upstairs bleeding out at the time. And boy, did that suck. She thinks to her conversation with Terry and looks down at her juice.]
But people didn't start acting weird till the performances. And I'm not big on thinkin' coincidences are a thing, ya know?

[Aside from the fact their boss could be unpredictable...but, given how she has the power to see multiple futures, who isn't to say someone in Virgo does--didn't have the power to basically make people kill?
She can't completely suppress the chill she feels as she clenches her fists again.]
I wonder who else among us could pull that off - and when they will. And towards who...
no subject
Dr. G? Um.
[She's a little unsure, because there are very few people she's talked to about it, but Terry trusts her, right? That's what makes her decision for her, and she continues.]
What do you think about..uh. Magic?
no subject
Garnet bites her lip at this. She's not sure what her strange ability counts as, personally, but she doesn't know if outright talking about it is a good idea. Rubbing her head, thinking of the various wasy she can respond, she picks an answer that is careful.]
I'd say it depends on how you define what magic is.
