The night club Maxxie rents out is in the heart of the downtown, sticking out like a sore thumb with its front entrance looking more like a museum than a club. There's a red carpet leading up the steps, with bodyguards littered about to keep the paparazzi and troublemakers at arm's length. No one with a recognizable face will be turned away from entering the club, and even through the giant, heavy doors there's a distinct baseline and a hint of flashing lights from the dance floor.
Said dance floor is the first step once you're inside. After an extravagant coat check and quick access to the downstairs bar, there's a wide open dance floor with the DJ on stage at the opposite end. There are bodyguards lining the walls, of course - after Naomi's stunt at the solstice party there's no losing them - but there's only one rule at this party: absolutely no one is to touch the mic except for the DJ and Maxxie. The music all night is a blend of genres, but every song is appropriate to dance to. Obviously there are some Flashstep songs thrown in for good measure, but rest assured that every band will probably hear their music in some form or another, whether it's the song itself or a remix to make it a bit more suitable for the mood of the party.
On the two upper levels there are balconies overlooking the dance floor, and it's a bit quieter up here due to some innovative architecture. One may actually be able to have a conversation in the comfortable lounge, and there's another bar here with a few more options for mixed drinks. It's a place to rest up, have a few drinks, and enjoy the music at a more reasonable volume before you head back out to the party. There's even waitstaff floating around making sure everyone has anything they want, and as always the bodyguards are hanging out at the edges of the space to make sure no one starts any trouble.
Finally, there's an entrance to an outdoor balcony on the top level, high enough up to get a nice view of downtown and still be sheltered from the nosy paparazzi down on the street. The temperature has dropped with the arrival of winter, but it's a calm, clear night in Vista city and the alcohol should be enough to keep you warm.
The bars are fully stocked with a few thousand dollars worth of alcohol to keep everyone properly buzzed, and there are a few dealers floating around upstairs ready to sell anything to anyone with a charming smile. The host himself will be bouncing around, enjoying himself as if it was all catered specifically to his idea of the perfect party (it was) and saying hi to anyone and everyone.
[OOC: This is party style! Throw up a toplevel and get tagging! You can get up to any shenanigans you want, but please keep in mind the bodyguards are plentiful and on high alert since the solstice party. Maxxie has, of course, tried and failed to get them to join in on the fun, but they don't seem too overbearing unless trouble starts brewing. The Countdown is here, but please continue making toplevels and threading pre- and post-countdown shenanigans!]

"J," he says, incredulous, "have you ever been to a New Year's Eve party? The ones your parents throw don't count, mate."
no subject
"I'll have you know," he begins, with only a half-hearted attempt at sounding serious, "that my parents were respected members of the musical elite and threw some pretty bitchin' parties." He guesses. He can't actually remember, and it's only due to the copious amounts of liquor he's already consumed that he isn't bothered by this.
He beams up at Maxxie, patting him on the back again. "Seriously, this turned out pretty great. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm glad you did it, man. I'm glad."

"So there's like booze, and alcohol, and music, and like, you guys, you guys are all here, and everybody's like dancing and shit and having a good time, and I think that one guard that punched me during lockdown that one time is here but he hasn't seen me yet." He thinks a little and then nods and leans back against Maxxie, tipping his head back to grin up at him. "You did good, man. This is a good party. You're good."
no subject
"Yeah the guards are a bit of a downer, but it couldn't be avoided. Probably would've made the labels mad if we tried to get away from them."
no subject
"I mean it, man. You're good. I mean you're good." He starts patting Maxxie on the back again, looking at him earnestly, with the implication that "good" doesn't simply refer to his ability to throw a party. "And, and y'know, all the shit that went down and stuff - I'm glad you're okay, bro. I'm glad you're okay. I - I want you to keep bein' okay."

He punctuates this by throwing his arms around Maxxie in a crushing hug, somehow managing not to spill his drink all over him. Regrets be damned, Jamie's got a lot of feelings right now that have to be aired.
no subject
"Come on, dude, if either of us is gonna get lucky tonight you can't be attached to my hip."
He mostly means himself.

"Pfff, there's a ton of people who'd love to have you 'n me at the same time," he says airily, and nudges Maxxie in the ribs. "I don't think our tastes match up in a way that'd make it, y'know, fun for both of us, though."
Then he gives Maxxie a look that's supposed to be sly, but really just looks goofy because he's so stinking drunk. "You got your eye on somebody in p'rticular tonight?"
no subject
"You've forgotten I don't kiss and tell," he says with a devilish smirk. "What about you, got your eye on someone?"
no subject
Never mind that "everybody" is an extremely broad category that includes his bandmates, the guards, Xanxus, and probably a lot of other people he doesn't really want to score with.
"I'm pretty sure I can find someone to take home tonight. Or...take somewhere. Somewhere private. Y'know."
no subject
"Hey, that penthouse is only for the elite," Maxxie says. "Plus I think the bodyguards won't let anyone not from Pride in there, so choose wisely." And with this he jabs a finger at Jamie's chest, as if he's trying to hammer the point home.
no subject
Jamie blinks in amazement, too agog to take issue with the finger-jab beyond swatting at Maxxie's hand kind of distractedly.
"Dude. What's it like? Does it have like mirrors on the ceiling and shit?" Why he's asking about this is anyone's guess. Maybe he's mildly disappointed that the ceilings in the Flashnest aren't mirrored. Who knows.
no subject
"But if you want mirrored ceilings Manny can probably get on that for you."
no subject
"D'you think he would? Mr. Patil, I mean? Put mirrored ceilings in the penthouse?" He looks more amused by this idea than anything else. "We should ask him for a disco ball. Just a big goddamn disco ball, right in the middle of the living room."
no subject
"Dunno, you'll have to ask him dude! Just text me before you do it so I can watch."
