A little while after the disaster at Naomi's, those who had attended might find themselves approached- by Luce on Virgo's side, by Luci on Pride's, or perhaps by someone who had heard about it from either of them. The subject of conversation?

Another party. One that involves another mingle of both labels, without being used for any ulterior motives.

Those who seem up to it are given a time and place. Blue Heist is one of the clubs around town that has what could be called a "basement level", for private renting and parties available to anyone who has the cash to spend on it. It's a pretty simple set up, nothing extravagant like the party at Naomi's... Which is absolutely on purpose, let no one tell you otherwise. There's a reason any mics or karaoke equipment has been pointedly removed. All the music is on the system already.

Nope, tonight it's just dancing and drinking, with a couple of rooms to the side that have cheesy movies playing in case you're tired out. No closed doors, no poison at the bar, no murder.

And if you want to take a moment to maybe have a talk to someone on the opposite label to discuss or apologize for the events of the prior night... That's fine too.

Just be careful. Both labels are still under watch, it seems, with a few bodyguards from both sides around the perimeter here and there.

Drinks

[variaboss]

The one sitting the next table over had been going through the alcohol like it was water. It just so happens that he has just finished his latest in his attempt to make his liver surrender in defeat. His eyes narrow though at the suggestion. He hasn't forgotten about how those on Virgo had poisoned the drinks. "Only if you drink it with me."

[trustme]

"Yes yes of course! That's half the reason I offered. Half to be generous and half to possibly start a conversation," Doctor explains. "What would you like? More of the same?" He eyes the lineup of glasses sitting in front of the other man.

[variaboss]

He knows that he's had a lot already. But it's not like he's going to pass up more. If Xanxus isn't near falling down drunk by the end of the night then something will be terribly wrong. "More of the same is fine. I'm partial to the taste." There's just something about whiskey that he really likes. It's not really a high brow alcohol but he really enjoys it.

"So let's add to my pyramid." He makes a gesture to all those glasses.

"All of those are yours?" Doctor's eyes go wide when he looks at the large stack. He had thought more than one person contributed. "Are you sure you're not going to be sick?"

[variaboss]

There is utterly no shame on his face when he nods. "Yes. They're all mine. I've been busy tonight. And no, I'm not going to get sick. Not from only this little." He pauses and plays with one of the shots. He supposed it would only be fair to share because the Doctor did seem a little concerned. "I guess, if you want to be proper, I'm what would be called a functional alcoholic. The more alcohol I have, the better I function. I think my body developed a dependence on it. I always do better and think better if I've had a few."

[trustme]

"Hm." Doctor doesn't hide his look of concern laced with a little disapproval but he walks off and returns a few minutes later with another drink for Xanxus. "As someone nicknamed Doctor it feels out of place for me to help you add alcohol to your bloodstream."

[variaboss]

Wow. That look. How many times has he seen that now from various people. He was actually expecting some AA lecture about loving himself and taking care of his body and not needing alcohol but instead, he's getting more booze. "Yeah. Well. Then today you aren't the Doctor, okay. Today you're just some dude helping keep me manageable." A pause and he reaches for the drink. "Thanks, by the way."

Doctor sits again with his own drink in hand, a glass of wine. "I'm regularly an advocate against drug and substance abuse, making appearances at schools and getting my photo put on websites about it." He sighs loudly. "But I will say this just once: I can understand the desire to drown in a drink after discovering the truth about our bosses. I don't think it will help at all but I understand how a person can fall into that."

[variaboss]

To Xanxus, that sounds really lame. Then again, he'd been avoiding having to do that sort of thing. The tabloids had claimed he'd gone to rehab after all. Who better to go around and tell the kiddies to just say no then someone whose life was "ruined" by their vices.

"Just this once, I'll pretend you aren't some great guy that helps the brats stay on the straight and narrow and accept." He reaches for the drink and frowns. "And so you know, I was drinking like this before all that label bullshit went down. I use it as a painkiller. Only one that still works for me." Least that's his excuse now.

[trustme]

"Painkiller? Sorry to hear that," Doctor says, pausing to blink in surprise at him. "I wouldn't have guessed. Minus the drinking addiction you appear to be a perfectly healthy young man. Being a Carnie requires a lot of energy after all." He's seen the performances. The entire band matches Luci's powerful lead.

[variaboss]

"Yeah." He points to his face. To the huge burn mark on his cheek. He then rolls up a sleeve. More burns. They're everywhere. "I was burned alive." He pauses and considers something. He wonders if this man has the same experiences he does. He hasn't talked to anyone on the Virgo side of this. "Or at least that's what they tell me. And let me tell you, Doc. This shit hurts like a bitch on a good day. So I drink." He shrugs and reaches for that drink.

"I drink so that I don't slow the rest of the Carnival down. I suppose it probably doesn't make sense to a healthy guy like you."
