005 ✽ We be all night

Who: The willing from Pride and Virgo
What: Want to know what party sucked? The solstice party. Want to know what party won't suck? Luci and Luce's.
When: Jan 8th
Where: The basement of the club Blue Heist
Warnings: None planned besides possible/probably intoxication

A little while after the disaster at Naomi's, those who had attended might find themselves approached- by Luce on Virgo's side, by Luci on Pride's, or perhaps by someone who had heard about it from either of them. The subject of conversation?

Another party. One that involves another mingle of both labels, without being used for any ulterior motives.

Those who seem up to it are given a time and place. Blue Heist is one of the clubs around town that has what could be called a "basement level", for private renting and parties available to anyone who has the cash to spend on it. It's a pretty simple set up, nothing extravagant like the party at Naomi's... Which is absolutely on purpose, let no one tell you otherwise. There's a reason any mics or karaoke equipment has been pointedly removed. All the music is on the system already.

Nope, tonight it's just dancing and drinking, with a couple of rooms to the side that have cheesy movies playing in case you're tired out. No closed doors, no poison at the bar, no murder.

And if you want to take a moment to maybe have a talk to someone on the opposite label to discuss or apologize for the events of the prior night... That's fine too.

Just be careful. Both labels are still under watch, it seems, with a few bodyguards from both sides around the perimeter here and there.

Greg's watching Jamie carefully from the corner of his eye, but returns the casual smile. "Oh yeah, sure. Our line of business, keeping out of drama's a miracle, even without the tabloids." "Drama" is the nicest possible way to describe things over the last couple weeks.

He scratches at his chin. "Things've been too tense lately to bother with that if you don't gotta."

Jamie huffs a humorless little chuckle through his nose. "Yeah, it's been a hell of a month," he says quietly. "I'm ready for things to settle down again."

He goes silent again for a beat or two, then makes an attempt to shake off the somber mood. "Anyway. Haven't seen you since that awards show with the weird food." He offers Greg a grin and a brofist. "How've things been for Defying Atmosphere?"

Far be it from Greg to turn down a brofist, even when followed up with a rough question. "Heh. A whole heck of a lot's happened since then, huh?" October feels like a lifetime away.

"My band's... going through some changes lately." He glances off. As hard as he's trying not to sound morose, it comes through.

Judging from that distinctly glum tone to Greg's voice, it's not a change in musical direction he's talking about. Jamie's grin falters.

"O-oh." He leans back a bit, looking chagrined, trying to think of something to say. "Sorry to hear, man. That's rough."

He studies his hands for a moment, then asks, "You, uh. You doing all right? Need to, y'know, talk or anything?" Greg's always seemed like a nice guy, he doesn't deserve to deal with this kind of stress alone if he doesn't have to.

"Huh? Oh! No, it's not as bad as all that. The band's not breaking up or anything, it just gets a little lonely with just two of us."

He puts his smile back on. "That's what I'm here for. It's been too long since I've gotten out to see everybody."

Jamie relaxes a little at that, but it still sounds pretty sobering. Just two left in his band? How many were there originally, like six or so, weren't there? That's a lot of people to lose, a lot of important people, if Greg regards his bandmates like Jamie does his.

"That...does sound like it'd be pretty quiet." He can't imagine the Flashstep suite with only two people in it, and he doesn't particularly want to.

"You got a lot of friends in Pride, then? It is pretty hard to see people on the other labels with all the...drama stuff. And the bodyguards everywhere."

Greg nods once--it gets painfully quiet, sometimes--then more eagerly at the second comment.

"Not as many as I'd like, with how they try and block us off. That's what makes these sorts of parties worth it. I've got some people I can't see enough. You know Tiger, or Pinkie?"

He glances at the door. "This label thing... it was hard enough before they upped security."
