A little while after the disaster at Naomi's, those who had attended might find themselves approached- by Luce on Virgo's side, by Luci on Pride's, or perhaps by someone who had heard about it from either of them. The subject of conversation?

Another party. One that involves another mingle of both labels, without being used for any ulterior motives.

Those who seem up to it are given a time and place. Blue Heist is one of the clubs around town that has what could be called a "basement level", for private renting and parties available to anyone who has the cash to spend on it. It's a pretty simple set up, nothing extravagant like the party at Naomi's... Which is absolutely on purpose, let no one tell you otherwise. There's a reason any mics or karaoke equipment has been pointedly removed. All the music is on the system already.

Nope, tonight it's just dancing and drinking, with a couple of rooms to the side that have cheesy movies playing in case you're tired out. No closed doors, no poison at the bar, no murder.

And if you want to take a moment to maybe have a talk to someone on the opposite label to discuss or apologize for the events of the prior night... That's fine too.

Just be careful. Both labels are still under watch, it seems, with a few bodyguards from both sides around the perimeter here and there.

It does need work... Maybe I can concentrate on the first part and get an idea of what kind of spacing is needed for the notes...

[ Too bad there isn't a backdrop that can make placement easy, like a music sheet background. ]

That's probably a good idea. Maybe start with the first few bars? I saw a few places the timing looked a second or two off.

[ It's all right. She doesn't have to coddle him, not for this. This is music in a different form. Ivan feels that itch to do it right and do it well. It's a welcome change of focus from everything else buzzing in his head day and night. ]

Okay. Maybe...three or four. Just, the first few bars at first. Start small.

[She understands. Really.]

[ He starts making the necessary adjustments, replaying the first part over and over until it starts to sound more like the background music. ]

What do you think of this first section up to this line of flower enemies?

I think that sounds right. A little chiptunes-y but that's the nature of the game.

[A beat.]

Tweak the timing on the first three notes, a half second faster.

[ He makes a few tweaks and plays the first part over and over. ]

How is it now?

[ He plans on keeping track of the areas he's finished with by "decorating" them with other elements of the game. ]

Better. I'd say you've got it.

[She nods along with it, happily swinging her pointer finger in time with the beat.]

Next section.

[ The next section is surprisingly on point and could probably move onto the next just before the goal. Still, Ivan replays it over and over, possibly overthinking it. ]

[She does the same, bobbing her head in time and putting a finger up at certain points.]

It's mostly right. But you're missing a note here and there. Here, play it again and pause when I touch the screen.

[Which she will do, to show him a couple of misses.]

Ah you're right.

[ How did he miss that? Is the music playing in the main part of the floor distracting him? Ivan moves a few note blocks around to fit in the missing notes. ]

I'm probably going to need to rework the timing of this section.

[ He works on it some more with a lot of back and forth and level restarts. It's coming along, and finally, he brings Cerio all the way to the beginning of the level. ]

Absolutely. Lets see what we managed.

[ This is the first run of everything being in place, and if all goes well, it'll be ready to be shared with the rest of the world. He starts the level. Everything moves smoothly, and the song plays without a hitch or a wrong note. ]

I think we did it!

Yes! I think we did too! Good job, Ivan.

[She holds up a hand for a HIGH FIVE! YEAH!]

[ Okay, even though he knows that he's going to have to deal with that jolt of info, Ivan decides to give her that high five. This was a trial, and they overcame it. It's something to celebrate. ]

Just a title for the stage, and we can publish it.

[Hmmm. A title. That's easy enough...]
