but you don’t get a win unless you play in the game
Who: surviving friday & OPEN
What: band shenanigans & etc.
When: day(s) after the gala event!!
Where: virgo penthouse and everywhere in the city (open)!
Warnings: n/a, will update if necessary
VIRGO PENTHOUSE;
[ Bleary-eyed and impossibly groggy, Aoba emerges sometime around late morning from his bedroom in the penthouse. He immediately beelines for the kitchen, yawning as he fusses with the ridiculously complicated coffee maker. How many buttons does a guy have to do to get a cup of joe around here? Sure, he could down to one of the cafes for some coffee, but that requires getting dressed and looking presentable.
Aoba is not either of those things after he's just rolled out of bed. In fact, it's nothing short of a minor miracle that he's even coherent and manages to mumble out a greeting. ]
G'morning... what'd I miss?
[ Hopefully he isn't about to be late for anything. ]
OPEN- OUTSKIRTS OF TOWN & TOWARDS THE DOWNTOWN CORE;
[ Instead of contenting himself with the rehearsal areas, Aoba's decided to kill two birds with one stone. With his guitar case stowed over his back and sporting a pair of oversized sunglasses, he hits the streets.
Find him in a trendy cafe, tucked away in a corner and scrawling in a notebook while plucking out the notes on his guitar, or bump into him in one of the many parks scattered around the city-- wherever he is, he's humming and looks relaxed for the most part. Whoever said you can't mix pleasure and work was oh-so-wrong.
Alternately, follow the buzz of the crowd to an open square, where Aoba's decided to kick things up a notch. The low thrum of his guitar accompanies his voice, which alternately soars and croons to the gathering in front of him. If he happens to spot you, he'll beckon you over. Join him for a duet, or maybe even a battle of thebands vocalists.
Is this a sanctioned by management? Probably not, but he figures his manager will let it slide provided it doesn't get too out of hand. ]

The usual. Ankh is bonding with his cat, I'm working on lyrics, I don't know what Momo's up to. Kaworu is probably being weird somewhere.
You mind singing about blue eyes?
no subject
You wouldn't believe what Kaworu was saying to me when he cornered me at the gala; I needed like five more drinks for that conversation.
[ Buuuuut sadly that's what normal with Kaworu is. The smell of coffee's starting to revive him enough to flash Kise a teasing grin. ]
I don't mind it, but everyone's gonna start thinking it's me who has a thing for them instead of you.
no subject
Yeah, that's true.
[He's not completely sure how much he likes that's Aoba that gets to sing his songs. He likes Aoba a lot, but man, it seems wrong when someone else sings them sometimes. He sighs. Oh well, that was how the cookie crumbled. He couldn't do anything about it. Yet.]
And yeah, Kaworu was trying to say something weird to me too, but I managed to derail him.
no subject
[ Hey, it's weird for him on his end too. Especially with Kise's fixation on blue eyes (bet the person he likes has them), but that's right. It's his job, and he's loathe to give it up. ]
no subject
[He blushes a little, looking away from Aoba, singing under his breath]
No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away
[He quickly types that out, nodding]
Yeah, that's the first part of the chorus.
no subject
Sure, but we both know who's really the one who keeps writing about them here.
[ Catching part of the melody, Aoba hums the last few snatches of it. Sounds good to him. Catchy. ]
no subject
And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say
[Well, it sounds good in Aoba's hums. That's good.]
Okay... now that I have the chorus done, I can tweak the the stanzas and work on the coda. Then we can see what music Ankh can compose for it.
no subject
If you need any help, you know where to find me. I think I might head out later though to do some writing of my own.
[ Change of scenery, you know. For inspiration. ]

Nevertheless, he was chipper and alert by the time he emerged from his room. And... vanished out the front door?
What was he doing? Sightseeing, honestly. But he's back now.]
Good morning!
no subject
But a morning greeting is harmless, probably. ]
Hey. [ Hurry up, coffee. ] You're up early.
no subject
But nobody was awake afterwards, so I went for a walk.
[That's pretty reasonable, right?]
Did we have practise planned for today?
[Kaworu is useless at remembering any kind of schedule. Good thing he has bandmates to do that for him.]
no subject
[ Reasonable enough for Kaworu, so Aoba doesn't question it further.
All the sleepiness seems to flee from him immediately, alarm bells ringing through him as he straightens and stares at Kaworu in horror. ]
Practice?! Do we?! [ Oh shit, they don't, do they? Someone would've mentioned it to him, right? ]
no subject
But I was asking you!
[Wait--if you don't know, and he doesn't know, then who does??]
no subject
[ Maybe Kise knows? Ankh? Momo? Someone who is neither Kaworu or Aoba? ]
No, okay, before we freak out [ Too late, but-- ], I'll check my schedule. Where is it... where did I put my phone?
no subject
[For once, Kaworu asking a fair question. Maybe.]
Oh, hang on. I can call your phone from mine.
[He's smiling again already, helpfully. He's always glad to help.
Just give him a second to find you in his... somewhat disorganised contacts... and... there!]
no subject
Got it.
[ On cue, the muffled sound of his ringtone begins to sound faintly from... the fridge? Aoba opens it up and retrieves the device sheepishly. ]
Huh. I don't remember putting that in there. [ Opening it up, he scrolls onto his calendar and checks out what's going on for today. Then he heaves a huge sigh of relief. ] No, it looks like we're good. We've got free time today, practice tomorrow.
no subject
And you wonder how Kaworu doesn't understand why people accuse him of being strange.]
...what was it doing in there??
[And just like that, he's completely forgotten the practice issue. Now it's time to talk about where you keep your phone.]
no subject
Beats me. [ Searching his memory, he's trying to come up with an explanation. ]
...I might've thought it was the jam that I got from the fridge. [ For his toast. ]
no subject
[Okay, Aoba. He can only hide his amusement at that for so long. He lasted like three seconds. At least he's not really laughing at you.]
You're pretty strange.
no subject
Says the guy who likes to talk in riddles.
no subject
[Kaworu actually only knows one riddle, and the answer is 'a candle.'
But he thinks he knows what Aoba is talking about. Maybe. He doesn't think that counts as riddles, though.]
no subject
[ Maybe he should come up with a riddle for Kaworu, see how he likes it. ...or he could be the adult that he is in the situation and not. ]
no subject
[In a flurry of crazy blond hair, oversized (then again most everything looked huge on Ankh) sweats and early morning grump, the guitarist flings himself into the nearest chair and somehow manages not to knock it or himself over. Within a minute of his arrival there was a cat, stalking after him but he doesn't notice it but instead is jabbing his hand in Ryouta's direction.]
He took pictures!
[And denying everything, the cat decides to jump on Ankh's lap, who looks down at it and groans.] It won't leave me alone.
no subject
[he's beaming at Ankh and reaches over to pet the cat between the ears]
And you do. He adopted you. It's done.
Besides, I think he'd look good on the cover of our next album. The secret sixth member of the band.
[Why does that seem familiar? Again, those blue eyes flutter into his mind.]
no subject
Staring at the cat, he looks between Kise, Ankh, and then back to the cat. Is he still asleep? ]
Uhm, hang on. One-- is that a real cat? And two: where the hell did it come from?
no subject
[Said cat, just settles in and looks at the humans around it with calm golden eyes of an animal that is going to wait out all the fuss and bother until food is presented. Ankh just looks like he was going to continue his grumping.]
Who let it in the apartment anyways?
no subject
[He does pause to think]
How'd a cat get all the way up here? It must have climbed.
[He looks back at Ankh] You should take him to the vet.
no subject
[ He isn't scared of heights, but sometimes just looking down from the balcony could give him vertigo. Forget relaxing enough to sleep on it. ]
Wait, wait, we're keeping the cat? I mean, he seems pretty attached to Ankh, but...
no subject
[Ankh likes heights. He always gravitates to heights no matter how minimum the offered protection to said heights. He really didn't fear them, even if it would be so easy to push him off when he was snoring away.]
It felt stuffy in my room anyways.
[He looked down at the cat. The cat looked up and, with the assurance of felines every where, batted at the closest bit of Ankh in reach, which just so happened to be his hand. Ankh squeaked.]
I don't want a cat!
no subject
[he might be a little teary eyed. It's just so adorable. The kitty loves the Ankh]
What should his name be? I know! Ankh Jr.
no subject
The back and forth ping pong of Kise and Ankh's argument over the cat's nearly too much for him to follow. Sighing, he takes another sip of his coffee. ]
I'm more of a dog person, but if you guys really wanna keep it, go ahead. [ A pause. ] Ankh Jr.'s cute! Or maybe An-chan?
no subject
[No idea where the name came from but Ankh is still sleepy, he has a cat on his lap that is gnawing on his fingers and there is not a piece of ice cream in sight. It was turning out to be one of the worse days sober he has had in a long time.]
No way will I ever give my name to a cat.
no subject
[Kise mulls it over, then nods]
Kazari works for me. [He stands and stretches] We should take him to a vet to make sure he's okay. And probably we should check with Yama if it's okay to keep him.
no subject
Kazari it is! I can call and see if a vet around here has time to squeeze us in.
[ Whenever they also have time to squeeze in a visit to the vet too. ] And yeah, better double check with him.
no subject
[Because a vet visit won't be long enough to hassle the manager. The cat was healthy and didn't look like it had any problems so it probably didn't need any real work.]
no subject
I'll call Yama while I look for Kaworu and Momo.
no subject
[ How is this band going to survive when they can't even remember half the stuff they're going to do? Maybe they should get one of those tacky schedule whiteboards for the fridge.
Yawning behind his hand, Aoba polishes off the rest of his coffee. ]
Okay, we've got this covered. I'm gonna go get ready, so I'll see you guys in a bit.
no subject
We'll get made up there, so just make sure you're passing the okay mark.
--OW hey!
[And here he was trying to fight with a cat that wants to steal his shirt. Ignore him.]
