"You give me too much. It works out."

"Don't think it works like that. Maybe give yourself more and I won't have to shower you."

"Maybe you're just inflating my ego. That'd be a disaster."

"Maybe you need a little of it."

"I took an ego cut a few years ago. I'm better off without a big head."

"Nothing wrong with knowing when you're doing well."

"What about you? How do you think you're doing?"

"Perfect." He winks behind his glasses.

He doesn't quite mean that honestly. But he's been doing pretty well for himself, he thinks.

She rolls her eyes at him with another elbow to his side. "You'd be solo if it wasn't for you catching the eye disease, huh?"

[wounds]

He just laughs. "Of course I would."

Of course he wouldn't. He loves his band. He's been with them long enough they're people he wants to protect. At least, in his own way.

"I'm definitely balancing out the world, then." She stuffs her hands into her jeans pockets. "You're being full of yourself."

[wounds]

"I'm just aware of when I do well. Unlike a certain somebody." A tiny smile as he glances over.

"Oh good, that one's open." He can feel his stomach growling as they approach the diner. Distantly he's aware that shouldn't happen. He'll put a lid on it for now. It's something he can examine later on if he really has to.

She slips ahead to open the door for him. "It's on me today, got it?"

His hand still automatically reaches to open it and he ends up feeling a little dumb for trying it. Still he'll walk in. "It's not like you owe me."

"Not as a debt or anything." She grins at him. "It's a thank you. I'm allowed to do that, right?"

[wounds]

"Fine... Fine." He sighs, a little overly dramatic. "I guess as a friend, I'm allowed to accept."

[blindfoldcode]

"Who said anything about friends?"

You did Kido. You said that.

[wounds]

"You did. Don't remember?"

[blindfoldcode]

"I can take it back whenever I want to." It's clear she does not want to.

[wounds]

"Gonna take it back right now?" He's mostly teasing, sure she's not about to.

[blindfoldcode]

"Depends on if your ego is the size of a house by the end of dinner."

[wounds]

"What if it gets bigger?"

[blindfoldcode]

"Then it's my solemn duty as a friend to knock you down a dozen pegs."

[wounds]

"And it's mine to build you up."

[blindfoldcode]

"You don't get to pull that. Last time I got too proud, I wound up running away from home." It's a poor decision to let her believe in herself because she makes STUPID RECKLESS CHOICES.
