"To be paid to Squalo." He's joking, of course.

He'll laugh, "Glad you thought so. Hopefully I can bring the same magic to our performances."

"Damn right, I don't rent out my best man for free." He's joking too... probably. "And you'd fucking better, or I might be forced to shank you."

"Sorry, I'm not sure he's worth that much." Kido shrugs. "And cool it on the shanking." She's a little sensitive.

WOW. "Worth that little?"

He'll shake his head. "Don't go knifing our labelmates."

"Rude as fuck," he decides. "Hey, it's renting, not selling, and she's your babe. I ain't that greedy."

Guess who interpreted your friendship wrong, guys.

"Fine, fine." He almost sounds disappointed.

That... is completely not what his relationship with Kido is.

"I'm not sleeping with anybody." He has never wanted to go banging anybody either.

"Don't sound so disappointed. You won't end in jail."

Her face goes red and she looks away. "I've got a girlfriend and she nags me a a lot less than he does."

"Could've fooled me." Ah. She's that kinda girl. He knew a guy and girl couldn't be 'just friends' if there wasn't something else going on! Just giving a shrug, though. If there's anything to sit on -- an empty chair, a sizeable amplifier, a table - he's just gonna do that and look like he owns the place.

"Been there, done that. Jail's actually not that bad." Roof and food, if shitty food. When he'd just gotten to Americana, it was quite a convenience to get held overnight.

All he can do is roll his eyes. "Apparently we fooled the tabloids too." Which is... well, it's not as though Genos has ever cared too much about what the tabloids had to say. At least, not when it came to his romantic life.

"But HQ is definitely better." Much nicer food for one.

It's a damn good thing he didn't say that out loud or there would've been a fight backstage. "I didn't realize getting along meant we were fucking."

She doesn't make a comment on jail, at least. Just on her continued apparent affair.

Well there's no need to say it out loud because it's a universal and absolute truth, etc, etc. "Usually it does," he explains merrily.

"True. The food's shit in the slammer. No worries, I'm an upstanding citizen now."

Aside from his apparently growing urge to pull a knife on people, but you know.

It's a good thing he's not saying that aloud because Genos would admit to not being interested in anybody.

He'll give a skeptical eyebrow raise. "Well, you're doing your best." He's not quite over the torture suggestion.
