[ Of all things, he holds up his guitar, pointing the end of its neck at the other man, finger ready on a custom switch. It's not the friendliest looking guitar. It looks more like two woven together by metal pipes.

Where the hell is security? ]

[ He looks down at the monstrous guitar, then sort of stares at Roy a little. Is he fucking threatening him (back)? ...and he breaks out laughing. The sound's loud and sharp and not very pleasant. ]

Holy shit, I like you already. BRING IT ON.

[ He goes in a defensive stance, instinctively lifting his left arm in front of himself. That reflex finally makes sense; it's made of metal now. ]

[ ...maybe someone with some common sense should swoop in here and say what's going on. ]

[Then Genos turns the corner and stares at the sight before him.

What are you doing?

[ AW SHIT MOM IS HERE. ]

[ Squalo goes still, then slowly turns his head toward Genos with the most matter-of-fact expression ever. ]

Recruiting our new guitarist. What does it look like?

[ IT LOOKS LIKE A MUGGING SCENE, SQUALO. ]

[ Nothing was said about recruiting. NOTHING. This feels so much more like a mugging.

Roy looks at Genos with a face that cries out 'Please contain your bandmate.' ]

All I know is that I'm being told to stay on stage or else I'm going to get cut or hit with a cello.

[ Blank look. ]

Ah. Guess I forgot to mention that part.

[ JESUS CHRIST who gives this guy cocaine ]

[He can't leave Squalo alone, can he?]

If you're going to make it look like a mugging, at least tell him what you're threatening him for.

Stay on stage, we need a lead guitar.

[ Roy relaxes, switching off his guitar's dangerous mechanics and letting it hang harmlessly from its strap around his shoulder again. He turns to Genos; this fellow actually knows how to talk like a regular person it seems. ]

All right. Since you asked.

I would have said yes sooner if someone had asked me in a non-aggressive manner. No more knives. I play better when I don't think someone is about to murder me.

[He raises a brow. Ask? He stated, even if he had said no, Genos would have dragged him right back to stage. Their songs have too many guitar solos to go on without a lead guitarist.]

I'm sure we'll keep that in mind the next time we try kidnapping you.

[He gives a glance over to Squalo.]

Gee, sorry. [ He huffs, and tucks the knife away. ] No need to be so sensitive.

[ And he grins again. ]

All right then!!

[ TO THE STAGE THEY GO. ]

[ Why did one of Pride's artists need to carry a knife when they had bodyguards and security at these events? Multiple questions along the lines of "How the hell did this happen?" come to mind as he follows the rest of MANTICORE to the stage.

Roy straightens up and puts on a confident face as he walks back out under the stage lights. He can ask questions later. ]

[Genos' personal questions about this entire event is just- why is he in charge of Squalo.

He's their leader, not the band mother- but oh man does it ever feel that way when it comes to situations like this.]

[ Hey why is he the leader Squalo wants to be the leader too and will fight him for it. He can be the band mom, though. ]
