Laura's smile isn't an encouraging one. But the girl doesn't really seem like she deserves to have that notion dashed against the side of the warehouse, so Laura doesn't say much more than a gentle, "If that's how things work around here."

And it's true - Laura realizes that her own worries could be wrong as well. She sort of hopes they are.
