☆TRACK VI: THE NEW AMERICANA

What: The rescuers enter Vista City for the first time.
When: January 20th, 2055
Where: The ship, the coast, and outer Vista City.
Warnings: Could basically be anything.

“Viral mess turned dreams into an empire. Self-made success now she rolls with Rockefellers. Survival of the richest, the city's ours until the fall. But we don't feel like outsiders at all.” ☆THE NEW AMERICANA Your arrival on Tera doesn’t exactly happen with a bang – though maybe that’s a good thing, given that this is supposedly a stealth operation. The ship firsts touches down somewhere in the ocean, at which point it hovers above the waves for a few hours while Shep “touches base” with some “contacts.” This is your time to get ready, to collect any gear you’ve been assigned, and to talk over initial plans with your new teammates. You’ve been given a rough outline of what to expect upon reaching actual land. You’re going to be dropped off in the ring of forested land outside of the city, at which point you are to access a hidden stash of supplies that has been planted there for you and head into the city, where a second stash of supplies will be waiting for you in the outer ring of the city. It will probably be a long walk. From the onboard supplies everyone will be given the following: ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING: if your character doesn’t already speak English, they will be given some time with a crown like technological device that seems the be able to psychically teach people languages at a rapid pace. Whatever has been enabling communication so far won’t cover you once you enter the city, so it’s important that you’re prepared. How easily a person’s brain accepts this information will vary based on unseen neurological factors, and can range from perfect fluency to an uneasy second language. (On an OOC level, whether or not your character struggles with picking up English is completely up to you.) Most of this training will be done on the trip to Tera. THEIR DESIGNATED TOOLS: any items your character was designated on your application will be given to them now. They’ll have some degree of choice in what they get, but everything is limited in supply. There are manuals for everything, but how much you can be fucked to read them will vary. Also, some of them aren’t in English or anything else even remotely recognizable. COMMUNICATION DEVICES: Everybody will get a communicator, which are worn around the back of your ear and project a holographic field over your eyes when activated. The device itself must be manually switched on with your fingers, and from there on out your exact method of controlling it depends on the settings. Some of the more basic functions can be manipulated with “brain waves” (though nothing very complicated) and the rest is mostly voice or touch activated, though you can also set it up to be controlled with blinking and eye movement if you are a “pro”. Its functions include voice, voice-to-text, and a sort of janky manual text mode that you have to touch the screen to use. Video chat is not available, though it is capable of recording video from your POV to be shared manually after the fact. It can also share still images. Various channels can be set up and accessed, both private and public, much like a Teamspeak server is used in gaming. HOLO EMITTERS (LIMITED): The amount of these available are limited by “plot convenience.” Do you want your character to have to struggle with their alien appearance to get by constantly? Then imagine there wasn’t enough of them to go around and your character was unlikely or benevolent enough to not receive one. Would you rather they have access to one? Then you can have one. A holo emitter is capable of projecting a holographic image around your character and disguising their appearance, the complexity of which is entirely up to you. The major problems with it are that 1) it can’t conceal things that the hologram doesn’t actually touch – cow horns could be covered in a hologram to look like a hat, but it couldn’t make them look as if there is nothing there at all, and 2) the holograms have no mass, and so if anyone tries to touch them they’ll realize they are just light projections. Also, like most of the equipment, they only work for a few hours before running out of power. ☆STASH NUMBER ONE: THE FOREST Once Shep has made sure things are prepared and everyone has their stuff, the ship will very briefly skirt close enough to the shore for people to disembark. The beach seems totally free of witnesses, and once you’ve hit land it’s a short run to the tree line. A few random people will have map information uploaded into their communicators (Usagi, Saitama, Reborn, Pearl, and Sparks Nevada are the lucky winners) and will be put in charge of making sure everyone navigates to the first stash correctly, and then into the outskirts of the city where a meet-up point and a second stash of equipment is located. The directions are not complicated, but it’s a lot of people to shepherd around incognito. How everybody handles this is completely up to the characters. Meanwhile, Shep is piloting the ship back off into the ocean to hide it somewhere. He says he’ll meet you in the city at some point, and that he’ll keep in contact via the communicators. Stay safe, and good luck! The first stash is about a twenty minute walk into the forest, and should be found with relative ease. It is basically just a few large, plastic tubs buried beneath soil and moss, and has to be dug up like treasure. Inside of it lies the following: AMERICANA DISGUISES: Clothing, make up, the works – everything the average joe needs to pass themselves off as a resident of Vista City. Outfits are perhaps a bit more eccentric and flashy than you’re used to...or maybe a bit less, depending where you come from. Either way, it’s a specific look, and there should be enough here to accommodate new outfits for all the humanoids. If you’re a horse, you’re sort of on your own. What your character ends up with is up to you, though “space rave” is a good way to describe common aesthetics. There are also a lot of hooded coats, hats, and other articles that would be good for hiding inhuman characteristics. RATIONS: Enough food at water, tightly compact, to last everyone for a few days. It’s going to start to run out quickly, though, so the group is going to need some breadwinners sooner rather than later. A WELCOME CARD: A welcome message from these two with their selfie printed on the front. Written inside are the following messages: “Glad you could make It! ♥ –Gold” and ”Welcome to hell. ☺ -Silver”. They are both in the same handwriting. From there, the maps only lead further into the city. ☆STASH NUMBER TWO: CITY BOUND You'll quickly notice that Vista City comes with multiple levels - the ground level, that actually touches the earth, and then a second level of streets and walkways that occurs halfway up the mountainous buildings. Cars streak down both sets of speedways, and the signs of life scatter every inch of the towers surrounding you. At the same time, though, a city of this magnitude leaves a lot of nooks and crannies left frequently unseen - something you'll definitely have to take advantage of. In the outer ring of the city the population is less dense than it gets towards the center, so at the least it gives you the opportunity to get your bearings. You'll find that there is no shortage of people stalking around in the darkness, even as the sun sets and night totally takes hold. A lot of them are dressed pretty funny, too, and any insecurities you had about looking ridiculous can tentatively be put aside. The costumes you were left do allow you to blend in about as well as you could hope. If the navigation team holds true, you'll be able to make it to the next stash in good time. You've been advised to avoid talking to locals as much as possible, at least until you've figured things out better. There is a notable absence of homeless people on the streets, which could mean any number of things. The place you end up at is, unsurprisingly, a warehouse. One of the few entirely flat buildings in the cityscape, the maps will lead into the center of the building. You try the door. It opens. When you go inside, you aren't alone. The floor is littered in blankets and what passes for foam mattresses. Waiting with them is the silver helmeted figure from the welcome card earlier. They usher you in hastily and ask you some cursory questions about whether you've been followed. When they seem satisfied, they'll tell you that you can spend the night here. "This is the first and last time you can stay here," they'll say, gesturing around. "This was Gold and I's launchpad for the last little while, and we're junking it after this. I recommend you follow our example. Don't stay any one place too long, and don't travel in one huge group. If you do that, one bad night will pin you all down." Silver will pass out what is apparently enough fake IDs for everyone in the ship - complete with each individual's image (or a human approximation) and a made up name. It's enough info to get a job with, they'll explain, if you can manage it. Avoid pushing the forgery's limits, though, if you can. They made them themselves so they expect they are excellent quality, but you can never be too careful. "...Most importantly," they'll finish. "Don't go looking for the prisoners right now, as much as you might want to. If you fuck that up, you'll fuck this up for everyone - and I'll tell you right now, other people have already invested a lot more blood and tears into this than you have. Respect that." Silver will stay for a few more hours, and then Gold will appear to take over, bringing snacks and hot chocolate with them. Get a good sleep, you'll need it. “We are the new Americana. High on legal marijuana, Raised on Biggie and Nirvana. We are the new Americana.”

Try to avoid having your characters be silly and pull unwise stunts this early on, because it will makes things harder for everyone as the game continues.

[ There's no answer. There's just a tall man with a familiar sword strapped to his back. He's already gotten over the fact that Reborn is not only not dead but also big. Takeshi is usually pretty quick about accepting things as they are and rolling with them. He's not a Rain for nothing after all. ]

STASH ONE;

When they hit the forest, Connor takes to the trees. He watches the group-- moreover, he watches one of the ones with a map to make sure he doesn't get lost. But from up here he can keep an eye out for anything coming in the distance. Not that he expects there might be trouble - he imagines their hosts have gone to a lot of finding secure locations - but it puts his mind at ease. And it's something familiar and easy to him, which is a comfort after being thrown into such a wildly unfamiliar situation.

He waits until the groups have converged before he comes down, keeping an eye out in all directions, and when he comes down he helps make short work of unearthing the containers. They don't want to be spending all day in the forest after all.

Connor's not super talkative, but the look he gives some of those clothes speaks for miles. As does the way he takes the most nondescript outfit he can find. A black coat with a hood, plain clothes, and a sturdy looking pair of boots. Jeans are kind of... Well that's new, but he can handle this.

STASH TWO;

[Well if you want someone pensively walking around the warehouse, you've got it. He's too anxious to rest, and that manifests as a lot of fussing. Over the course of the evening he can be found trying to find the best way to hide too many weapons under his coat, climbing the rafters and spending a little while looking out the windows as if to check for anything unusual, and trying to understand how this comm device works.]

[It's kind of hard to ignore someone who's fidgeting around, especially when it's someone Mammon remembers speaking with on the ship. They let him do whatever he likes, for a while, until they notice him fidgeting with something. Once they realize what it is, they sigh but get up.]

Stash One:

Whoever thought to give Usagi the map was very sweet, but very ill-advised. It wasn't that she couldn't read a map (years of video games have not done her wrong) it was just not something she could make sense of instantly. She was still getting used to everything and wondered if these weird visor-communicators was how Ami felt when she used everything as Sailor Mercury. She hadn't had the Sailor Moon googles since her first form. She looked around them and then back at the map.

"Alright, it's just a bit more up ahead, we're almost at the city limit... I think?"

She was following the route, and again, it wasn't that she was bad at reading the map, just some part of her really wanted to turn into Sailor Moon so she could protect everyone in case something happened. She started wringing her hands, if only to do something with them. She didn't want to let Rei or the others down.

"I wonder if there are wild animals..." she worried as she looked about and gestured for people to follow her.

Stash Two:

SUCCESS! Usagi gave a little leap of joy that she had brought everyone to the city and the second location safely.

She gestured for everyone to enter. Though she was a bit more on edge inside the actual city.

"Alright, come on in, ah, best to still be quiet." Once everyone was inside, she shut the door behind them and let out a massive sigh in relief that they were all safe, the tension in her shoulders easing. They made it! And without... well, without and big problems, though she had wanted to stop on more than one occasion when she saw all the homeless and she hoped they would be alright for the evening.

"Oh thank goodness it's over!" and without having to transform into Sailor Moon even once.

Stash Two: A little bit later

Usagi blinked as she looked at her Fake ID.

"Serena Lapin?" A little on the nose with that last name. She would have to get used to being called "Serena" from now on, she supposed. At least the picture was nice. She tilted her head as she thought aloud. "I wonder what I can get as a job..." she never even had a job. "I wish Luna was here, she could figure this stuff out easy."

There was only one place for Minako to be: at Usagi's side. She did her best to keep that bounce in her step, to keep it light, but they all knew what was hanging over their heads. This was serious, one slip-up and not only would they lose Rei, but everyone else too.

Still, they were awesome teammates, right? That had to count for something. "Don't you worry about the bears, Usagi! I'll scare 'em off. And if I can't, I'm sure Haruka or one of our new friends can!"

Someone has to stay outside. Someone has to make certain no one notices. No one bothers them. While there are plenty of mattresses and the like, he's not going to be using them. Because there are people here. There are children here. And that means that Yamamoto Takeshi has taken up a guard point on the outside of the building.

He's gotten pretty good at hiding.

At the moment, he's sitting on a fire escape though in the next few minutes he'll be walking around an imagined perimeter. Just casually walking, like he belongs there so not to rouse suspicion.

He won't be sleeping tonight. And he probably won't he sleeping tomorrow or any other night. Not until they have safer places. Until then, it's his honor as the Rain Guardian to insure those inside have at least one tranquil night.

If anyone joins him though, he'll stop to chat.

Minako's not one to sleep much either. They need to get out there, find work, and find a place---she's not keen to stay on the streets too long, everything about being in public gives her the creeps. She's tossed and turned trying to think through job interviews in her head, tried to imagine where she'll learn the most, but what she needs now? She needs to clear her head.

With her mass of hair somehow tucked inside a small silver beret, she climbs up and waves to the shadow.

"Still quiet out here?"

Mammon - ota

☆Shipside

For those who were around earlier or were even recruited by them, some might have noticed that what was once a toddler at some point became what's... probably an adult. Mammon, unfortunately, is an extremely short person.

Mammon is also one of the few people who doesn't need English training, or particular tools, or holo emitters. That leaves only the communicator, and they spend a good hour or so quietly figuring it out with the holograph lighting up some of the shadows of their hood.

Alternatively, you can find them in a small secluded corner, not too long before landing, murmuring to the small frog that's been their almost constant companion. "Fantasma, are you alright...?"

There's a very sad croak.

☆First Stash

Besides what some might call shitty looks to the tall man in the fedora, Mammon actually seems to be doing fairly alright. They stick to the back of the group, seeming to keep an eye on people with Fantasma cradled in their hands.

When they finally get to the clothing stash, they take one glance at the selfie, snort, and then immediately dig in for the nearest thing with a hood. People have a brief chance to see what's under that hood of their's as they jerk it down- purple hair cut short, triangular markings on their cheeks, and calculating silver eyes- before....

Where the fuck did the dressing room curtain come from that's suddenly hiding them from view as they change?

Feel free to get answers either before or after they emerge in their new outfit, their other clothing stuffed into the frog backpack they have on their back. Fantasma's beady red eyes peer out from just inside the hood, resting along Mammon's neck.

☆Warehouse

After talking with their hosts and bothering Shep over the communicator, Mammon can be find sitting on one of the mattresses investigating their ID card and have at some point changed back into their usual uniform. Anyone who glances over it will see the name "Eun Kim" there.

...Mammon isn't Korean, but fine.

"So I suppose it would be good to find suitable people to form a small group with," they murmur. Are they talking to themself or the person nearest to them? Who knows.

Ship

Frisk has spent most of their time on the ship wandering around sticking their nose into things. They're used to spending a lot of time alone, even if it's not what they prefer, so they're content enough to walk through secluded areas alone.

They are pretty primed to listen for noises though. The sound of a faint croak is enough to get them peering inquisitively into that corner and up at the hooded guy. Does he have a frog? They didn't know there were frogs on board!

Kirby | OTA

Initial Landing

[For whatever reason, Kirby doesn't need those English lessons, and some how there are no holo-projectors for him, though it probably wouldn't have worked out very well for him anyway.

The communicator is an issue though. Not because he doesn't know how to use it, but because Kirby doesn't have any visible ears.]

Poyo? [He just kind of stares at it in his "hands" and blinks.]

Stash One

[While the trip to stash one isn't exactly a long one, Kirby's focus starts to slip on the way there anyway. This is all new to him after all, and he wants to look at things.

It doesn't matter exactly who he's following, at possibly more than one point, something is going to cause him to wander off a little, as if they're not supposed to be moving quickly to get to the stash.]

Stash Two

[Now that they're here, Kirby still isn't entirely settled and is wandering around getting a good look at where they are now and the other people he's with. It's getting late though, so he does plan on going to find a place to sleep eventually.

He's also hungry though. So he goes to where the rations are. Of course he does realize he's not the only person here who needs to eat, so he's going to try to limit what food he takes. He's pretty used to how food tends to be really abundant back in Dreamland, but it didn't look like there was a lot of food around while they were on the way here.]

"Ah, good warmup, huh?" Minako stretches to the ceiling once they're inside, rubbing the tension out of her arms. Not that she's all that dressed for a workout---she's chosen a slinky silver dress and boots with matching beret. With a neon pink belt. But it hadn't slowed her down one bit.

Minako's about ready to try to sleep. She's kneeling on a blanket, turning her new ID over in her hand. 'Diana Artemas'. The new her starting out on a journey, a mission more critical than anything she's faced before. She tucks it away after a minute, then stands, silently seeking anyone else still awake.

"Hey, you okay?" she tends to ask anyone who's moving near her.

Laying there in her little corner, idlying flipping through a bundle of tarot cards, Nozomi looks up at the sound of a voice and offers a muted smile, teeth white in the gloom.

"Yeah. I'm alright. Are you okay?"

Stash one

Riku takes his clothes and finds a tree to hide behind to change into. All in all his outfit isn't the worst. It sorta reminds him of that man he met so long ago. And he's seen Sora wear worse.

He puts his communication device behind his ear and steps out from the brush, putting the clothes he had been wearing before into a satchel that had been included with the clothes.

He looks around, eyes stopping at each of the map holders trying to decide which one to follow. His first choice is Usagi, though he feels if he goes with Sparks he could learn a lot from someone with a similar job to his. Pearl and Saitama he hadn't really interacted much with on the ship.

And then there's Reborn. And the rest of the Mafia people. With a sigh he goes over to him, thinking he should keep an eye on them. If they don't let him he'll just join up with Usagi.

Stash 2

It really takes all of Riku's self control to not rush off and rescue Sora right this very second. However, he's learned the value of patience. So he toys with his communication device a bit, taking picture and movies and then deleting them to save space for important stuff.

He looks down at the fake ID he was given. "Richard Highwind" in neat text just above an unflattering picture of himself. Driver's license. Well, he can drive. Motorcycles anyways. He wonders if he can get one while he's here. He'd need to get a job.

With a sigh he lays down on his foam mattress. It's not the worse place he's slept.

Stash 2

"Serena Lapin, a pleasure to meet you," Usagi put out a hand to Riku smiling warmly as she went to go check on the people she met back on the ship. She was dressed in her own outfit since a school girl uniform wasn't exactly appropriate.

She moved down to sit next to him and smiled.

"It's okay, Riku-kun, we'll be able to do this all together, alright?" well, maybe not all together, considering they couldn't be in a big group. "I know... you want to go look for Sora. I want to do the same for Rei, as soon as I see her, it's going to be hard not to hug her. But they don't... we can do this for them and everyone else."

On the Road Again (Stash 1)

Doesn't matter which stash they're headed to; J keeps an ear out for the group leaders and stays towards the back. As long as he can hear one of the map holders, he can navigate towards them, and he's got pretty good range. To that end, he's picking up stragglers, people who've fallen behind or gotten lost, and getting them back on the right track. They can't afford to lose anyone, after all.

Tomorrow I'll Be Gone (Warehouse)

J can be found all over the place at the warehouse. Usually, it's helping people get settled in, trying to be a friendly face to people who don't sound like they've settled in just yet. It's one heck of an adjustment, and if he can help people through it, that's what he's going to do.

He may take a moment or two to get used to new clothes - of all the fashion decades to make a comeback, he definitely wasn't expecting the 90s - and a new name - Jeremy Stone, which, given very recent events, was not funny.

Towards the end of the night, he's sitting against one of the walls, eyes closed. He's obviously not asleep - his fingers are tapping on the floor and against his leg by turns, following a beat that only he can hear. He's got a good enough handle on the tunes of his fellow rescuers, but grasping the Music of Vista City is proving to be a little more difficult. Chalk it up to fatigue and some very odd backbeats that he wasn't used to hearing on Earth. He'll open an eye and offer a smile to anyone who approaches, though.

warehouse

Minako hasn't really rested. The uncertainty's been getting to her too much, but she's doing her best to hide all of that. It's her job to stay strong for Usagi and everyone, right? And it's going to be a big day today---she hopes for at least a job interview.

When she sees J, she drops the quiet pacing and kneels a short distance away. "Are you a drummer?"

MADAME VASTRA || DOCTOR WHO || OTA

[Vastra is very used to running for cover, and she moves rapidly across the sand for the forest before turning to see how the rest are faring. If someone is straggling, they can be sure she'll lose patience and rush to help.]

[She's quiet and alert as they move through the forest, opting to trust others with the map while she maintains a lookout for anyone who might be looking to cut their rescue mission short.]

[And then they get dressed... and while Vastra does her best to look subdued and cover herself adequately, she is not a fan. Still, camouflage is camouflage. A planet that thrives on kidnapping people and turning them into rockstars probably has a rather colorful culture...]

[STASH TWO]

[Just to be safe, Vastra sticks to the darker corners of the street and hangs back behind the rest of the group-- moving in one large mass would present a target if those who would stop them are aware of their presence. She keeps her bag with her swords on her shoulder and walks with her head down. She knows the drill, even if she's not the most out-of-place being here (she's looking at you, strange pink circleblob).]

[Once they arrive, Vastra takes the ID handed to her (Vastra Flint... makes some sense) and starts peeling out of her ridiculous clothes and settling in on a foam bed. Sleeping in these things would be less comfortable than not sleeping at all.]

Stash 2

[Usagi had seen the woman earlier, but hadn't gotten a chance to meet her yet, despite her being kind enough to help during the travel to the warehouse. The rabbit of the moon moved over to her and offered a small little bow.]

►STASH ZERO ☆ MEET AND GREET

[it doesn't take her long to notice that she looks... fairly different from most of the other people on board this ship. Applejack is the only pony, and she looks like a pony, walking around on four legs while almost everyone else is using two. what strange paws humans have! actually, they have strange everything.

well, Applejack isn't shy, and she wants to make friends. these people, whatever they were, were her allies, and they all needed each other. so she stops looking out the window for now, goes up to a random person, sticks out her hoof, and smiles]

[from the tips of her ears down to her hooves, AJ stands just over 4 feet tall. that's too big for a dog, and too small for a human of her equivalent age. she isn't sure the holo-whatsit will be able to help her.

at least she has a cloaking device, which apparently will make her invisible, but that's going to be weird if she travels with somepony else. for the first time during the trip, Applejack is kind of discouraged]

Ah don't know how t'use any of these newfangled gadgets. [she's mostly muttering to herself out loud, not wanting to complain. but if you're close by you'll hear her] Just what is a "holographic field" anyway?

►STASH TWO ☆ KNEE-DEEP IN THE HOOPLA

[thanks to her cloaking device, and the assistance of others, Applejack has made it safely to the warehouse. she settles onto a sleeping bag with a mighty sigh, taking her stetson off and resting it on the ground beside her. then she will address the nearest person]

Hoooie! Ah dunno about you, but Ah'm jumpier'n a cat in a room full of rockin' chairs! That was some tough navigatin' out there. It's hard t'keep quiet for so long. [covert operations are not her forte]

Stash One

[Once she's found something she can agree with, she begins to look over what she should do. Namine still has her book and pencil with her, tucked carefully under one arm, and so her first plan is to find something to carry it in, finding an over the shoulder leather one that seems to be sewn together out of bits. Once that's found and taken care of, she can be found fastening her coat and pulling up her hood, all dressed in white, even now. ]

Stash two

[ Namine was quiet most of the trip from the first stash, watching the people and the city as they went. The entire time, all she could think was about Sora and Roxas, and how they were doing. If they were safe. If they could feel it when she and Riku had arrived, how tied they were to both of their hearts. Once she's given her card she seems to hover at the edge of things, mostly staring down at the picture of 'Nora Whitney' and wondering, just a little bit, about lives that included things like identification cards and money and jobs. She's never had to do any of that before. ]

Later at the warehouse.

[ Namine can sleep, just like she can eat or drink. But she doesn't particularly feel the need for it.

At least not right now, anyway.

This leads her to get up from the mattresses after a while, and she finds a wall to sit against. Once she's there, she begins drawing. After a little while the city unfolds across the paper, the HQ's lit almost from within. There's so much hiding them from her, but they're both here. And she wants more than anything for them to be safe. ]

It's still weird, seeing her again. Since the last time he saw her she had merged with Kairi. Still, as strange as it is it's good to see her again, and to have a friendly face around.]

I'm a little jealous, your outfit at leas looks like something you'd wear.

[He pauses and then lowers his voice] I'm going to go with Reborn and his mafia friends. I want to keep an eye on them. [Some of them seem okay, he's not sure about others, like that Mammon person] You want to come with or are you going to go with someone else?

[Flashy costumes weren't anything new for him. Cous Coussier had a gimmick where all of the employees would dress in costume for whatever theme the owner had decided on. But Eiji also had his own preferences in regards to clothing so he spends some time looking for whatever looked most comfortable, regardless of how they looked or how they matched with whatever else he picked up.

If he notices anyone else from the ship approaching he'll move out of the way so they can get what they need from the stash.]

Warehouse

[Eiji's quick to get himself situated and pick out his resting area. He spends some time looking around before returning to where his chosen bed was and taking the time to mull over the information he and the others from the ship had been given, trying to think about what he could do.

His own fake ID had the name "Fukushi Chino" on it; something he would have to get used to while on this planet.

If anyone were to approach him, he will snap out of his reverie and give them a friendly apologetic smile.]

The Forest

Frisk doesn't need any English training or anything, so once they've picked up their special jumping boots they sort of drift from the rest of the group. The treeline is tantalizing, and they wander over to pick up a stick off the ground. It feels right to have it now...well, maybe not this one. This one's too heavy. They wouldn't want to hurt anybody...

They spend a while picking up and studying sticks, keeping half an eye on the group. Luckily they're inclined to stick closer while walking to the stash itself. They idly carry the chosen stick in one hand, occasionally spinning it around and holding it as if blocking an invisible attack.

Once they've arrived, they quickly start to sort all the striped tops into a pile for themself. A lot of them get put back due to ugliness. Pretty much everything is too big too, but at least they found a bag they like?

The City

They're quick to claim a mattress and blanket for themself, and don't seem particularly bothered to spend the night on the floor of a warehouse. It's pretty warm here, and there's food. If anything, they look a little doubtful about that - they sit on their mattress and eye their share of the rations warily for a little while, before finally tucking it under their blanket. Maybe they'lll eat that later on.

Instead, they decide to walk around and check in on everyone else. If someone hasn't gotten food yet, they'll bring them some. If they have, they'll just flash them a thumbs-up and raise their eyebrows questioningly. Doing okay there, buddy?

The City

J is seated against a wall, eyes closed, trying to get the hang of the Music around here. When he hears an inquisitive tune head towards him, he opens his eyes and offers the kid a grin. The concern's pretty obvious in the kid's tune, and the thumbs-up and eyebrow combo only confirms it. "Feel like I should be askin' you that. You done this sorta thing before?" Because otherwise, this is an impressively calm child.

Samurai Jack

[Jack's on the move as soon as the team disembarks. Armed only with his sword, he moves quickly across the beach and into the treeline to scout ahead, vanishing from sight except for only the most trained eyes.

He doesn't stay far from the rest of the team, only enough to get a lay of the land and it isn't long before he rejoins them, stepping out of the trees with barely a sound.]

Our way is clear, for now. Come, we must move quickly.

Stash 2 - Early
[The warehouse is probably far from high-end accommodations but Jack isn't one to complain. It's shelter and a roof over their heads, at least for one night, which is all they can ask for.

For his part, Jack is mostly keeping to himself while mentally going over the information they've been given while he eats some food and chooses his disguise. Fortunately, he knows exactly how to blend in with this kind of scene. Though, he'll... forego the pacifier this time, thank you. His sword as well will be stored in one of those plastic poster storage tubes for camouflage.

At the moment though, he's sitting on one of those mattresses eyeing his fake ID.]

Stash 2 - Later
[The hike to the city hadn't been very taxing by his standards, but it seems that many of his new companions weren't quite as adapted to long journeys as he is and it's true that there's much work to be done so he's grateful for a safe place to rest for the night before their missions begins in earnest. Not that Jack's letting his guard down.

They're right in the middle of enemy territory, and he knows all too well how quickly the situation can turn from peace to battle. So, while some of his companions settle down to sleep he's apparently taken it upon himself to stand watch and has chosen to sit by a window just where he can be mostly out of sight from passersby while still seeing the street clearly. His sword is at his side, one hand at the ready on the hilt.]

Stash 2 - Early

[J can hear that confusion and heads towards it. He doesn't know everything about the crazy futuristic city they've landed in, but if he can help, he's going to.]

[He arrives just in time to catch that name read out loud. To his credit, the poker face doesn't slip; he'll have to go laugh himself silly some other time, because wow. Instead, he offers an affirming nod.]

Once they've landed Laura is eager to get going. Saving Luci will work - though she's not sure how given the fact that... well. Things happened. But she was told it would work so she'll believe it.

Laura doesn't wait once she finds out that they're going to head out in groups to be less noticeable or whatever, so she'll just rip off the metaphorical band-aide and ask the nearest person to let her go with them.

"Mind if I tag along with you?"

Laura doesn't view the clothing as a survival necessity and the food... well, considering the number of people younger than her (younger looking at least) Laura waits until mostly everyone else has gone taken something to scrounge for something for herself.

She goes through the clothing bins first and is a little embarrassed with having tried to be nice and wait because there is very little that is not hideous left. Not that she thinks what they started with was stunning to begin with...Still.

Jesus, this was the pinkest dress she'd ever seen. Unless she got her hands on some dye this was going to be unbearable. Laura peeks back into the bin and looks at the person digging through it next to her before asking:

"Anything less...pink? In there?"

OUT OF THE FRYING PAN

So they have everything that they need. Or at least, everything that their intrepid leaders can get them. And now it's just... 'don't get caught, don't approach anyone, wait'

God this was not how she pictured this going. But no one said this was going to be easy, did they?

Laura can't help but worry though. Getting a job would be the next step but unless Vista City did things differently. There was going to be some time spent without a place to sleep. And that scared her.

But it was also kind of exciting!

"Where the hell are we going to go tomorrow?"

She's assuming that they're mostly sticking together because... well it sounds a little suicidal to just go off on your own and damn the consequences.

A part of her wonders if they're going to be killed within the week.

She doesn't need to sleep in quite the same way others do, and she's certain she and Riku are going to figure something out at least, but she isn't certain what that something is.

"We should be able to find places to stay. It can't be too hard. People do it every day, don't they?"

Namine sounds impossibly naive, but then she has literally never had to behave like an everyday person a day in her life.

Hibari grimaced at the butchered name order from his perch on the rooftop, suspecting that both the classic film director and the actor who had played such an esteemed role would be rolling in their respective graves at how simply wrong this name looked in the Western order. Although he was familiar enough with it after years of associating with the Italians, it wasn't something he would tolerate in his own name. The simple fact that he needed to deal with it in an alias....

It grated him to no end.

Pulling the folds of his thick coat tighter around him, Hibari swallowed his misgivings for the sake of the Famiglia. Although all of his instincts screamed at him to move and keep moving, to secure a safe radius for their rag-tag group to reside in, he knew that his current place was to stick close.

There were children here. There were non-combatants. They needed resources....and they needed people willing to kill if it came right down to it. Hibari could do all that and more.

And, although crowds were far from anything he was comfortable with, he would stick closer to them for now.

Because he needed the support as well-- and he was far too old to be denying the basic nature of the world.]

[Quite honestly Riza has no problem ditching her uniform for something less noticeable, as long as it gets the job done she'll do it. Still, most of the clothing she ends up with are on the moderate side of things as she's less worried about style or looks.

If someone happens to be watching while she's changing (that had better have only been a quick accidental glance) they might just catch a glimpse of red ink upon her back. She's not exactly the type for wild tattoos but who knows, maybe she'll explain it if asked.]

[It's going to take some time to get used to this place. Everything is bigger, brighter, and more...everything compared to Amestris. She does her best to keep her head about her however as they make their way to the next location; no need to make it obvious they don't belong there. This is one of the reasons she keeps to the back of the group she's with, falling into the habit of protecting the others, watching for signs they've been noticed, or just keeping stragglers from getting left behind.

She'll start a conversation with anyone who looks like they might be similarly inclined or those in need of a little reassurance.]

Stash One: Fresh Out The Runway

[Ok, so maybe her outfit isn't that bad. It's a tad loud for her persona; taste, but perfect for infiltrating music labels. Her hair is properly done and and her makeup is trashy yet can also fool a person into thinking she's an exec. Her com device is tucked over her ear, hidden by blond hair. And fittingly, her sunglasses go on her head and she finds a jacket to wear to stash her gun in.

Pretty good. Except for the fact that rations can't last forever.]

Stash Two: You Know My Name

[Eda narrows her eyes at the sight of the warehouse. She needs to find a regular job here and soon. Perhaps get a roommate or something. Anything is better than this dump. And the name they gave her? Ruby Gordon. Replacing an alias with an alias, it's almost funny.]

[Well, they sure do have interesting ideas about fashion here. They are all going to look ridiculous. But he supposes it really doesn't matter one way or the other. Kuroko is stealthily selecting something he can live with, and it's likely that most people don't even notice him unless something they were eyeing just happens to vanish out from under them.

He's also taking note of the rations. They won't last long. They'll need to find a way to make money soon. Maybe one of the other 'rescuers' has an idea]

Warehouse-

[Later on, Kuroko has claimed a corner of the warehouse and is sitting on a mat going through the things he now has. Fake ID(He supposes he'll just have to get used to being 'Kai Takase'), communicator device, fancy bandages, these weird goggle things, adorable dog.....

The adorable dog is currently curled up next to him, asleep. Kuroko is quiet and has a natural stealth that borders on invisibility. So feel free to wonder what the poor little doggy is doing here all alone.]

[He's certainly not the first to know this isn't nearly enough food, along with various other problems. Mammon is to the side, arms crossed and frowning at their large group.]

Forest

"There's so much land and so many trees!"

Agent 3 took to learning English well. It's the language from the Word on High that inspires the Splatfests. Her voice still has a very aquatic sound to it. She'll complain a little about having to walk instead of swim, but she follows along near the map holders. Her gun is poised and ready to shoot the whole time.

When they reach the first stash, she helps to keep watch as others dig out the buried goods. She shoots her bright green ink up the trunk of a tree and swims up into the branches.

Later, she'll look for a large jacket with a hood to help hide her pointed ears (though her Hero Headset will do the work for her) and tentacle hair. She has no problem going for the brighter colors. Her Hero Suit has bright yellows and greens already. She feels weird adding a hat to her headset (Isn't that illegal to double up?), but she chooses something that can hold her tentacles tied up like a boy Inkling does. Oh! Goggles! If it's okay to double up, it'll be okay to triple up, right?

City

Agent 3 can't keep her eyes still once they finally reach the city. There's so much to see, so many humans. Is this what the past looked like? It's amazing! Even the warehouse is interesting to her, and she wants to explore every bit.

Her card says Emma Skidd. It's kind of strange to have a fake name for a code name, but she shrugs and pockets the ID. Picking a spot and a blanket, she pulls out her Hero Shot and shoots ink onto the floor. Then it's a bloop and into the ink she goes. When she pokes out her head, she's a squid and not her kid form.

"Are there Ink Battles here or whatever humans do like it? If I can do that, I can earn us money."

Forest

"You'll probably find less trees when we hit the city proper."

Mammon deals with all the excitement fairly easily, not particularly surprised. This is a squid. Or a kid? Squidkid. Either way, she seems pretty aquatic in nature.

"Although I suppose there should be parks somewhere in it," they muse. "But we'd have to get a proper feel for the city first."
