He comes and goes as he pleases
Who:Cosmic Indulgence
What: The new drummer arrives subtly.
When: January 20th
Where: CI's penthouse
Warnings: None possibly?
So this was the place. Sabo stood in front of the door and rubbed the keys in a gloved hand. Cosmic Indulgence. He can appreciate the name though he wonders if the cosmic means they're high as kites for most of the time. That wouldn't bother him.
It's also late, very late, 3am as a matter of fact, which is by design. The last thing he wants is some big deal made of his arrival... either good nor bad. He just wants to be a drummer with no trouble. Hopefully they won't even notice he's there.
Slotting the key into the lock, he goes in.

Sure thing.
[he follows along behind her, twirling one stick absently]
Did you guys have a big party last night? [obliquely asking about the hangover]

[That's a completely straight answer, there's not a single hint of sarcasm or playfulness. And as it turns out she's taking him to her room, leaving the door open behind her. It's neat enough, but she goes to her desk to pull out her copy of their album to hold out to him.]
This is what we've already put out. We all write and compose to some extent, so don't think you won't have to pitch what you've got. If you can at least get the vibe of it then maybe we won't sound like shit on stage.

He stands at the entranceway of her room politely but crosses the space to take the album]
Don't worry, I'm not expecting to contribute anything but the beat. And if you do sound like shit, it won't be because of me.
[though the last is meant as reassurance and a little bit of a joke. He can't help but look at it skeptically however. He hopes he doesn't end up falling asleep through the middle of a set. That could look bad.
On the other hand maybe no one would notice.
heh]

[If that was supposed to be a joke it's ... Really not funny. She's become incredibly defensive of their music since Richard left, it's the one thing she's got that still has a part of him.]
We are perfect at we do, you're the one that has to brush up. So you put your heart into it or you find another band.
[That's it.]

I can't give my heart to this, but I'll give you my pride as a competent drummer which is worth just about as much. I intend to carry you guys as far as you want to go. And if you can't accept it...
[he shrugs]
You'll have to take it up with the manager.

[THERE GOES ANY HOPE OF LIKING HIM she'd told Garnet she would try but, frankly, 'cucumber' is incredibly well applied here. To immediately come into their house and basically phone it in, to show no immediate passion or excitement, and to piss off at least the lead singer if not the rest of his future bandmates rather than politely introducing himself ... Yeah, no. Richard wasn't perfect, but this was just some bullshit.]
Mr. Kim will be the first to see it, so I guess both our problems will be solved.
no subject
I suppose they will.
[but he's not really afraid of it. He wouldn't call himself the best in the business but he's not a slouch either and as long as he works hard and does more or less what he's told, he doesn't see any reason to be ejected.
At any rate, this seems like a good time to get going so he gives her a polite smile and casual salute with two fingers]
Thanks for the album, Miss. I'll listen right away.
[and get his bigger notebook because he has a feeling he's going to need it]
