He comes and goes as he pleases

Who:Cosmic Indulgence
What: The new drummer arrives subtly.
When: January 20th
Where: CI's penthouse
Warnings: None possibly?

So this was the place. Sabo stood in front of the door and rubbed the keys in a gloved hand. Cosmic Indulgence. He can appreciate the name though he wonders if the cosmic means they're high as kites for most of the time. That wouldn't bother him.

It's also late, very late, 3am as a matter of fact, which is by design. The last thing he wants is some big deal made of his arrival... either good nor bad. He just wants to be a drummer with no trouble. Hopefully they won't even notice he's there.

Slotting the key into the lock, he goes in.

Showing trust is not doing anything rash.

[He opened his eyes now to regard Sabo steadiy, as if studying the man's reaction and body language for cues that words alone would hide.]

We may seem like a lazy bunch here at Pride, but it's not all parties behind closed doors. I don't want to have to arrange a funeral so early in our association.

Then you've failed already in that regard-- even after this one conversation, I think I might miss you if something happened.

[Because Sabo's rationalism and detachment was comfortable and oddly familiar territory for Koumei, as if he had been taking part in such interactions for his entire life.]

I only say these words because there is something strange happening in this building, and anyone who brings too much notice to themselves runs the risk of consequence. You're smart, but you're also 'safe' right now. This isn't your battle to fight.

[Koumei sighed, realizing his folly too late.]

My apologies-- I've been forgetting myself lately. [He took another sip of his coffee to recollect himself before he continued.] While a fight with the Carnies would be good for business all around, I wasn't necessarily referring to that. While this place seems okay on the surface...there are other motions a foot.

I was referring to others who are in the building.

And, you can try all you want to keep us from getting any flak from your actions, but the problem is that we're already involved. It's going to be impossible to avoid a chain reaction.

Our bosses. The people who write our paychecks.

[He sighed, wondering if warning someone who hadn't even gotten wind of the crazy things that have been happening in recent months was a good idea.]

I'm still trying to piece together the details myself, but the bottom line is that they do not necessarily have our best interests in mind. Whatever you do, you can't expect them to help you.

Only yourself, your band, and whomever you call your friend.

[It was a gross oversimplification, but Sabo would understand what Koumei meant after he saw it in action.]

You can say that as much as you want, but as long as you're in this suite I'm going to count you as one of my bandmates. If something happens, I'll help you as best as I can-- if it's in my power to do so.

[Unfortunately for Sabo, Koumei was quietly making a point to keep an eye on everyone around him. Beyond his sense of responsibililty of being one of the oldest of the new comers, an one of the few who had rational sensibilities, it felt almost like a duty for him.

Like a handful of musicians in a building paled in comparison to what he had managed in that Other Life.]

I'll keep that in mind, should it ever come up.

[Because he wasn't one to talk about his problems, either. Working himself to the bone for the sake of a greater cause felt natural to him. And, right now, that 'greater cause' was ascertaining the wellfare of the people that he knew.]
