Who: ~~Riza~~ Elizabeth and anyone who wants to help (or needs help) with the whole technology thing
What: Not everyone is from a time and place with computers. Plus the library offers some great opportunities for research.

Open: Pity the tech challenged
[If she was going to get a decent job, one that would help not only pay the bills but put her closer to her goals, she was going to have to rely on her previous skill sets. Somehow she doubted anyone had a use for a sniper which meant updating her office skills.

There was only one way to do that which meant she was going to put in as many hours as possible using the city's library branches. She'll get it eventually, but any help from those not likely to judge would always be appreciated.]

Open: Information Gathering 101
[Not all of her time spent at the library is confined to the computers. Why waste a perfectly good resource of information?

The number of books was amazing, but those could be read at home. It's the magazines, both legit and tabloid varieties that have her attention most of the time.]

Do people actually believe this stuff?

[She's almost certain it's 90% fake, but who knows.]

[After several days, Riza's learned enough that it's easy enough to blend into the usual crowd of people doing their thing at the library without looking out of place. She still comes to practice, fill out job applications, and scour the internet for information regarding a certain missing individual. All perfectly normal things if the activities of the others around her are to be taken into account.

It's almost too easy to find things. Internet fan sites and general publicity meant she didn't have to look very far before getting more information than she could have hoped for. Also, who kidnaps and brainwashes a person but leaves them with their real name?

Of course, she's not going to act on any of that just yet. She had enough experience with this kind of thing to know better. Even without Silver and Gold's warning, Riza knew they weren't in any position to move forward. She'd stay away until the time was right.

[hey, porn can be pretty lucrative in the right circles. Still he contemplates the screen a little longer and points to a file called Word Play.]

[should she open it music will blast through the speakers at an incredibly high volume. Should she not, well, it'll probably just be awkward for a second]

[That doesn't look right but what does she know? It can't hurt to try it.

Of course, the moment she clicks on the icon the game loads and then the music fills the library scaring everyone with any percentage of hearing. At this point it becomes very clear she has no idea how to stop it either as people turn to look at them.]

AH Shit! [it startles the hell out of him, too, and he frantically presses the mouse button trying to shut if off only to somehow click on hidden buttons that produce an array of embarrassing and quirky sounds]

How do you make it [PRAAAAAAAP] stop?!

[He's asking her?

With his flailing not helping at all, Riza figures out where the speakers are and somehow manages turns them off before the librarian comes over to either yell at them or offer assistance.]

That wasn't it.

[So plain. So dry. So full of accusation--even if he did seemed surprised by the sudden noise as well.]

[thank god. His face is not completely red, but it's getting there]

Yeah, sorry about that. [he rubs the back of his head] When it comes to writing I pretty much prefer pen and paper.

[Yeah, it feels like he honestly means it.]

Don't worry about it. I'll figure it out one day. Until then, I'll just have to look into other job opportunities.

[still he feels bad. Like he should make up for it somehow. Also kind of embarrassed for himself. He sits in a nearby seat, letting out a puff of air. Why do they even have a program like that?]

That's tough. [he does not envy her that search] What were you before? [maybe he can keep his ear to the ground]

[She can't exactly admit to being a soldier can she?]

I worked for my father as a secretary. Files, correspondence, notes on his research. He's a paper and pencil person as well.

[Which hopefully explains her own technical issues.]

Gotta be hard working for your father like that.

[something in him twitches at the thought but it soon vanishes so he doesn't pay any attention, instead swiveling the chair back and forth]

I can't blame you for wanting to get away. There's a lot of opportunities in this place if you know where to look.

[She has several thoughts on the matter of dealing with her father; none of which, she's inclined to get into.]

It was. But now I'm in the city and I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to come.

Let me know where you end up, huh? [he smiles at her. He can hear his bodyguards moving in for the kill, or at least he thinks he can, in either case, he thinks she's kinda cute so...]

Hey, you wanna go grab some coffee?

[Normally her first reaction to a perfect stranger asking her out like that, yes even for something as innocent as coffee, would be a quick rejection. But she is here to do a job, and part of that is getting closer to any of the musicians she can.]

No. He needs to play it cool. Or at least not be a massive dork about it. Though he can't help but perk up at the reply, at least he doesn't stand straight up out of his seat.]

Great! I know this super coffee shop just down the street.

[Riza's just going to assume that means it's good as she grabs her stuff.]

I'll reserve judgement until after I try it.

[he hopes it's good. That is, he's been there once or twice and it has been good so maybe she'll like it too. He gets up, too and slides his chair back in. Though that little moment of distraction is all is needed before the bodyguards catch up, looking annoyed. Sabo sighs.]

Hope you don't mind the blues brothers along for the ride.

[Riza gives the guards a once over but smiles.]

As long as they don't misinterpret anything as an attack it should be fine. They're just doing their job and keeping you safe, right?

[Something she completely understands.]

Something like that. They want to make sure we're behaving ourselves.

Mostly they're annoying.

[he sighs and shrugs]

Anyway pretend they're not there. Shall we?

Well, hopefully. you aren't too hard on them. I think I can ignore them for the time being, though.

[She's used to being on both sides of that line, more often on the side of silent but deadly watcher so at least she knows what moves to make to keep from being suspicious.]

You have a soft spot for guys like that?

[she's obviously never had to be protected by them. But he says so without heat and just as a conversation starter as he heads from the library]

I guess they can be useful in a pinch.

Not really, I just think it must be hard dealing with both stars and their fans.

[And she'll just follow along.]

Plus it means you're important right? Or they wouldn't pay these guys to follow you around.

I'm not that difficult in that department. [he's not even sure if he has any fans. Or at least any that would dare to come out of their basement.

He shrugs at the last, holding the door open for her just to be polite]

Important only matters if you can get people to listen to what you have to say. In this kind of career, they only hear what they want.

Is it that bad?

[She honestly has no idea what being a musician would be like, good or bad; but, apparently everyone to want to be one. Or to be famous in any case from what she'd researched so far.]

Pretty much. Everyone band has an image they have to keep.

[though it must work somehow because music is still as popular as ever]

But as long as the people are happy, right?

That sounds kind of sad actually. Shouldn't you be happy as well?
