☆A Little Little Fun



On the morning of the 24th, the sun rises over Vista City and, more importantly, Archer Park- a series of rooftop parks connected to each other by bridges and overflowing greenery of all sorts. It's a popular on most days to start with. Today, however, is the day of the Double S Charity Concert. Thus, it's more packed than usual.

One of the park "islands" is home to a concert stage, and that is where the concert is taking place. All throughout the next couple of days, various musicians will perform songs they've written about or dedicated to another in the industry. With the entertainment value of the idea and the fame of the musicians, of course the place is packed.

The stage is where every musician will end up at throughout the day, performing for the masses, but behind it is also a rest area for them to either bide their time or just hang out. It's supposed to be restricted to just those musicians participating, but frankly... security is lax just enough that bandmates and the such could duck on in to see their friends. No fans, however, sorry. It's not the most impressive of places, with seating areas and a salad bar and all the pizza that could possibly be ordered, but hopefully it's good enough. This is also where one can find event organizer Jenny around, in case they need to bring anything up.

Of course, no one is required to stay back there while waiting their turn, or after they've done their performance. Attempts to raise money go beyond just the concert. Double S has all sorts of stalls set up, whether to explain to people the various causes they can specifically pledge support to, or to sell merchandise. Can't forget the food stalls. There is, of course, a stall showing adoptable animals. There always is.

Finally, there's one last thing Double S has set up for any willing celebrities. It's a meet-and-greet area for the fans, where they have the chance to meet their favorite musicians. Giving out autographs, taking pictures with fans... There's even a karaoke set up for everyone to use. Musicians can sing solo, or with others from their label, or even with a lucky fan. AKA feel free to get NPC MP here. Hopefully, it'll get some good publicity for those interested in that kind of thing.

Tickets have been made astonishingly cheap in the hopes that more people will show, with anything else being made up by merchandise sales or donations.

[The tickets were juuuuust cheap enough for Saitama, who came almost solely to see who's actually trapped and needs rescuing. He's never actually been to a concert, though, and he's leering at the prices for food and merchandise... all in all, he looks like he swallowed a lemon when he's around anything being sold, and like he doesn't get it when the music is playing.

It's weird to see the faces on the merchandise and realize that these people have been abducted from their homes...]

[He just finished singing this. And of course- of course Genos notices him as soon as he comes off stage. ]

How have you been, Makoto? Enjoying the show?

[It is really difficult to miss that shiny bald head in a crowd.]

Huh? Oh. It's good, I guess, it's the first concert I've been to.

[wounds]

Ah, that's right. You did say you weren't into the music scene.

What brought you out?

[heroforfun]

[He shrugs!]

Someone got me a ticket.

[wounds]

Lucky you. Was it a coworker? Are they with you?

[Can I spend time with you?]

[heroforfun]

Yeah, and nah, they're doing their own thing.

[wounds]

My performance is over. Do you mind if I hang out with you?

[HE'LL DO IT EITHER WAY.]

[Somehow, 'Di' from Brad's Diner doesn't seem to be concerned about he pay today.]

Hey, want a free milkshake sample? Brad's got the best in town!

Huh. Sure, that sounds nice.

[Free food is the easiest way to entice him.]

Sure! You like chocolate, strawberry, mint, peanut butter, or banana?

[She's holding a glass that looks a bit bigger than the usual sample size.]

Banana!

[He's all smiles! Certainly smiling more than he had been.]

[She whips it up and passes it over with a smile and wink.]

It's got lots of energy for you. You want to stay nice and strong for this, right?

[Passersby might think she means watching the concert, but she's thinking of something else.]

Eh? Are concerts really that draining?

[He'll take it and take a sip! He isn't sure what she's getting at, or if she even is getting at anything. Well, really, she's probably getting him to buy one in the future, isn't she? Hmm...]

[ As concerning as that reaction to merchandise might be, there are more pressing matters here. Namely, Squalo had noticed the egg-head speaking with Genos and the latter looking all love-struck, and while he hasn't heard nearly as much details as Kido has, he's starting to piece it together. ]

[ So as soon as Saitama's relatively separated from the crowd (as in, not too far away and possible to reach without shoving elbows in people's stomachs), he'll be approaching him. ]

[ ...and sort of just circling him without saying anything, eyeing him up and down with a slight snarl, his lips curled just enough to show a bit of teeth. Just like a displeased dog, though his presence might feel just a little bit more evil darker than an annoyed pup. ]

[ You don't exactly look like a hero. ]

[Most people would be intimidated, probably. But Saitama's just standing there, sipping on his milkshake.]

[ Alright. Definitely infuriating. It'd probably remind him of certain shounen protagonists if he, you know, remembered any of them. ]

[ As is, he decides he should confirm his suspicions first, so eventually he'll stop right in front the guy and cant his head slightly to the side. ]

How do you know Genos?

[heroforfun]

[Oh, hey. He smiles.]

Are you a friend of his?

[sharktrash]

[ ??? ]

[ WHAT A FEARLESS INDIVIDUAL ]

Yes. [ His expression goes a little flat. His vanity just took a punch below the belt, okay. ] You actually don't know me.

Not at all. Keep an eye out for that guy, yeah? He's reckless.

[At some point after Saitama has had the pleasure of bewildering Squalo, Mammon seems to slip from the crowd and settle besides him. Illusions have changed some aspects of their appearance, just enough to no be recognizable as any other person in a hoodie, but Fantasma the frog gives a small croak from inside the hood.]

[Yeah, the frog is their identifying mark right now as far as they're concerned.]

The long haired guy you were talking to earlier is one of the people I'm here for. What did you think of him?

[Mammon, for the record, found the encounter hilarious from what they could see of it.]

That Squalo guy? He's alright.

[Shrug!]

He's Genos' friend, so I'll personally make sure he gets out safe too.

[That's probably the most positively anyone's ever spoken of Squalo in his life. They raise their hand to hold back their laughter before recovering.]

That would take a load off of my shoulders, honestly. I have the unfortunate position of needing to rescue two people instead of focusing on one, after all.

In return, I'll see what I can do about this Genos of yours. Anything in particular I should know about him besides his face?

He's reckless and he might hurt himself if it means protecting someone.

Oh. He's one of those. Squalo is a bit dim in that area as well. At least they suit one another.
