Who: System Crash/ Trucy and Open
What: Trucy made a deal, and now she has to deliver.
When: Just over a week after the ghost quest people were returned, and continuing for a week after that.
Where: Pride HQ
Warnings: Trucy makes poor life choices. Otherwise fine.

A- System Crash penthouse.

[Trucy steps out for a couple hours and when she returns it's with determination in her eyes. She strides purposely in the common room of the penthouse and calls out.]

Okay guys! Band meeting! We have a concert coming up and we gotta nail it!!


B- Around Pride HQ during the following week.

[Trucy is busy this week. She's all over Pride HQ, alternating between talking to various techs, costumers, and having extensive conversations on the phone. Now Trucy having high energy and bouncing around is nothing new. Only... there's not so much bouncing this time. More of a serious determination. Whatever she's up to, she's displaying an unprecedented level of focus.

Towards the end of the week, she starts to look exhausted too. As if she hasn't been getting enough sleep.]

[The sleepless nights seem to be spreading. Though at least on Genos' end he's starting to realize he just doesn't need it anymore. Still he worries over people like it's a habit. Especially when they're people his friends are close too.]

[It takes her a minute to realize he's talking to her.]

Huh? Oh! Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.

[She keeps fiddling with her phone, as though expecting it to ring at any moment.]

[She laughs, trying to sound casual.]

Well, you know... busy, busy. Schedule's kinda tight right now.

[Pinkie seems worn out when she enters, hands tucked tightly beneath her armpits.]

Yeah? Okay...I guess we do, huh.

[Trucy isn't unsympathetic. She's tired too. But they need to do this.]

I convinced Ms. Lesedi that we can still be an asset to Pride. So we're gonna be a little busy for a while. Sorry.

[Pinkie flops down over the couch rather than walk any further. Look how much she cares.]

Tiger can't go onstage now.

[She doesn't look happy about it, but that's beside the point.]

[Look who decided to show up. Kido looks absolutely uncertain at that. She glances in whatever general direction Tiger is in.]

... Trucy, that's...

Are you sure it's a good idea? We need a break.

[She also glances over at Tiger, then steps closer to Kido and lowers her voice to a whisper.]

This is probably our only chance to prove that we can still be useful. That we can all be useful.


[She hopes Kido understands what she's trying to say.]

[She absolutely understands what Trucy's saying but... she looks down at her hands.]

And what if we can't pull it off?

[It's too soon. If they fuck this up... she can't imagine what would happen if Tiger got fired.]

Besides, I have a plan. People will be talking about this concert for weeks to come.

[Molly is lounging in one of the comfortable chairs, with her headphones in. things have been so weird lately, and while she didn't have anything to do with the ghosts, she knew that something was going on with them.

well, never mind that. when she hears Trucy call a band meeting, she sits up, taking out her earbuds]

Sure, I'm game. [why should she be worried?]

Great! Because I just talked to Ms. Lesedi and set up something pretty special.

[She backs up into the center of the room and begins an enthusiastic pitch.]

Here's the concert deets!

Picture this: The South Vista mall, busy with shoppers going about their daily business. Suddenly, the lights dim. A flash! And then we appear on the mezzanine! We play a set, get the crowd going, then poof! We vanish.

[She pauses here for dramatic effect.]

Then, a few days later an ad goes up on all our blogs. It's just a photo from the concert with our name, a date, and a location. The people who saw the mall concert are gonna wanna snap those up. And if anyone missed it, there's no way they wanna miss this one too. When those tickets go on sale I bet they do their own disappearing act.

[well, it sounds like a good idea, though Molly is feeling uneasy about Trucy talking to Lesedi alone. she should have at least taken another person with her. she sighs, arms crossed as she considers the idea]

So you're suggesting we play the first concert at the mall for free.

The first one is like a big advertisement. We're creating hype.

Everyone will be thinking, if they can do something that fancy all of a sudden what can they do with a big fancy music hall and time to prepare.

I guess I can understand that. [she leans back in her seat] And you said you talked to Lesedi about this?

[He's seen her, here and there, around HQ, but hasn't thought too much of her behavior... now, though, this is starting to seem a little concerning.]

[She's typing something frantically into her phone, and frowning at the result. After a second, she responds, but is still taking frequent glances at her phone.]

Hey, B! I'm great! Just... busy. You know?

[She tries to muster up the usual bright smile, but it feels fake to her.]

Yeah, seems like it.

[Jeez, what all has she been taking on this time?]

This a work thing?

Yeah. System Crash has some big things coming up. Hopefully I can live up to my own ambitions.

[Tiger's only just recently started hanging out in the main areas of the penthouse again, and is at least steady enough to do that without doing anything super weird. He's more baffled by Trucy's pronouncement than anything, though, and the cracklines on his body still haven't changed. His eyes are just as cloudy and vacant as ever.

Though this is enough to bring his insecurities to the forefront.]

I...I don't know if I can...

[Doesn't she see what a mess he is? For a moment, it feels like everything that happened over the last couple weeks was all in his head.]
