Those who have visited local grease shack Brad's Diner in the past may be surprised to see the radically changed decor for today. The booths were already lined in red cushions, but now there are additions of heart balloons, shining ribbons, and red and white candles on each table.

The festive atmosphere hits you right in the face when your server arrives! Her name tag reads 'Di', the I dotted with a heart. But that's usual. More unusually, she's sporting a pink mini-dress and red apron, and there's a long red ribbon laced through her usual braid. She winks at everyone coming through the dtheoor, presenting them each a small chocolate.

"Welcome to Brad's, home of the chocolate strawberry milkshake! Everything's half-price for singles today, and couples all receive a free cake! But if you'd rather flip it around that's fine by me too! It's Valentines, all about showing you some love! I'm Di and I'll be taking care of you today, cuties."

She then bounces to lead her customers to their seats. Even the regular table seats are well cushioned with fluffy pillows, so there's not a bad seat to be had in the house! She's also piled a lot of big balloon decorations between the tables, hopefully making it easy for musicians to go incognitio just as Rei asked. With luck, they can make this a warm and welcoming place for any and all.

I think....I think I want to tell her that, no matter what happens, we're going to be together one way or the other.

Well, quite a few flowers say that, do you want to come look in my bouquet book and we can pick a few things out? I won't know for sure what we have left until we head to the shop, though.

I promise I won't be terribly picky for you. It's just something simple that I'm looking for.

[She brought him back to her booth, the bouquet book open with all the meanings of all the flowers and various combinations of flowers.]

Mrs. Ophelia made this herself and it keeps getting updated for all the new flowers around the world or that change meaning. I actually didn't even know just how every flower, tree, and plants in general had meanings, isn't that cool?

[He stared at the book she pulled out with awe-struck eyes.]

I don't even know how she managed to find this and can keep it up to date, considering how language and symbols change over time. Then we also need to consider the nuances of color, season, life stage...

[...clearly, he's already been doing some research on his own.]

She's been doing it for well over forty years, I suspect she may have made some of those meanings and flowers, honestly. [She grinned.]

Here, just look through it. Colors and all that is already accounted for. Mrs. Ophelia has taken care of everything.

[He'll gladly look through the book, Serena. The amount of detail that was put into the tome was nothing short of impressive.]

Oh that's not even the half of it she's so cool! She used to be a fencer when she was younger but had to stop when she got older, but her son says she was incredible. There are a few photos of her competing in the shop in her office. Aaaah I wish I could fence! So elegant and graceful!

Maybe we can find someone to teach you, if you want to learn so badly. If so many people practice, it can't be that hard to learn.

Ah not possible. [She waved dismissive hands.] Stuff like that requires way more money than I have for anything like that. It's cool to think about though. I don't know how good I would be with a sword anyways.

Ah. Well, you can always dream about it then, right?

Well, that's what I was already doing.

[She waved a dismissive hand.] But it's alright. That isn't what we need to focus on, right? We need to focus on your bouquet.

That's right, we do.

I trust that I'm in capable hands? I would hate to disappoint this lovely woman.

Well... I don't want to disappoint this person either. Ah, but if there is anything I'm not able to do, the most capable hands aren't too far away. But uh... maybe... plan better for next year? I mean, Valentine's Day is always the same day, so...

Uh, I mean, if you love someone, you shouldn't wait until the last minute to get them something.
