Those who have visited local grease shack Brad's Diner in the past may be surprised to see the radically changed decor for today. The booths were already lined in red cushions, but now there are additions of heart balloons, shining ribbons, and red and white candles on each table.

The festive atmosphere hits you right in the face when your server arrives! Her name tag reads 'Di', the I dotted with a heart. But that's usual. More unusually, she's sporting a pink mini-dress and red apron, and there's a long red ribbon laced through her usual braid. She winks at everyone coming through the dtheoor, presenting them each a small chocolate.

"Welcome to Brad's, home of the chocolate strawberry milkshake! Everything's half-price for singles today, and couples all receive a free cake! But if you'd rather flip it around that's fine by me too! It's Valentines, all about showing you some love! I'm Di and I'll be taking care of you today, cuties."

She then bounces to lead her customers to their seats. Even the regular table seats are well cushioned with fluffy pillows, so there's not a bad seat to be had in the house! She's also piled a lot of big balloon decorations between the tables, hopefully making it easy for musicians to go incognitio just as Rei asked. With luck, they can make this a warm and welcoming place for any and all.

[She's all business now, the soldier she always was. A strong warrior like she knows Rei is, and that inspires her parting words.]

[Rei lets go completely, bowing her head.]

I'm still not convinced I'm any sort of warrior. I know I have powers, but I don't know...why or what they're for.

[Shuffling her feet.]

But I do know that I have faith. And I'm grateful, for whatever it is you're trying to do for me, even if I don't know why. Well...I guess that's not true. You love me, I know that now. And I think...maybe...I love you back, when I'm who you know me as. So, ah...if you need encouragement, remember that.

[A swallow.]

We should be getting back. I'll help you how I can, but I don't know what I can do aside from money. That I have, I hope that the other day was useful.

Not all war's with the usual violence, you know. I know you'll figure it out...but even now, you bring people happiness and hope. Like outside, just a little while ago!

[She nods, grazing her fingertips over Rei's one last time.]

It helps a lot. H---ah, Alex is going to get a car! Then we'll be able to look all around. But don't stretch yourself too far for us, okay?

It's fine. I'm paid far more money than I have any right to have. I donate most of it to charities, the rest goes to things like gas and food.

[And yeah...]

[She's slipping on that cheerful 'Di' mask, but before it's over completely...she whispers in her ear as the door starts to swing out.]
