Those who have visited local grease shack Brad's Diner in the past may be surprised to see the radically changed decor for today. The booths were already lined in red cushions, but now there are additions of heart balloons, shining ribbons, and red and white candles on each table.

The festive atmosphere hits you right in the face when your server arrives! Her name tag reads 'Di', the I dotted with a heart. But that's usual. More unusually, she's sporting a pink mini-dress and red apron, and there's a long red ribbon laced through her usual braid. She winks at everyone coming through the dtheoor, presenting them each a small chocolate.

"Welcome to Brad's, home of the chocolate strawberry milkshake! Everything's half-price for singles today, and couples all receive a free cake! But if you'd rather flip it around that's fine by me too! It's Valentines, all about showing you some love! I'm Di and I'll be taking care of you today, cuties."

She then bounces to lead her customers to their seats. Even the regular table seats are well cushioned with fluffy pillows, so there's not a bad seat to be had in the house! She's also piled a lot of big balloon decorations between the tables, hopefully making it easy for musicians to go incognitio just as Rei asked. With luck, they can make this a warm and welcoming place for any and all.

"EEEEEEEEE HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" she exclaimed as she hugged him tight around the shoulders. "Oh my gosh! We have to do something fun! A cake! I'll get Di to bring you back a cake and aaah I have to get a present! What should I get you? Maybe some wrist-bands that aren't black~" she teased. "Oh! Nora didn't tell me either! Does she know? Well, it doesn't matter, I'm</> telling them and we're going to have a birthday party. Because," she wagged her finger, "it's the little things like birthdays with loved ones that help keep us going."

"Sarena," he whines. He grimaces. He's eighteen, he shouldn't whine.

"It's really not a big deal. I haven't really celebrated my birthday in awhile."

He was busy trying to make Sora whole again for his sixteenth, and his seventeenth was a quiet affair.

"THIS IS A HUGE DEAL!" she suddenly exclaimed. "Especially if you haven't celebrated in a while. We have to, Ricky. Celebrations like this are important, not only does it celebrate when you came into this world, but it's the little celebrations we need to keep us going, to remind ourselves of loved ones."

With a sigh, Riku admits defeat. "Okay, we'll do something. But nothing fancy. We don't have the money."

Usagi lifted her arms in the air in victory before wrapping them around his shoulders again.

"Oh no no, not fancy, but definitely big. I should tell the whole diner!"

"No, that's fine, let's not, please."

Riku's face is a bright red. His pale skin, despite a childhood under that sun, does not help conceal it.

"Sarena, please, just you and the rest of the girls is enough."

She was still hugging him around the shoulders but was pouting at his not wanting to make a big announcement. Still, it was his birthday.

"Fiiiine," she said with a sigh. "But don't think you're getting out of one at home. So, just us huh? No one else I should invite?"

"Kuroko would be cool," Riku suggested. "I really can't think of anyone else, maybe Reborn and Mammon, but they don't seem like the type."

He turned and gave her a little smile. "Like I said, nothing big. Maybe just some sea salt ice cream."

"Okay, I'll try and get a hold of them and make sure that they know why it's so important. Although, I don't think I've met Reborn. But alright, Kuroko, Mammon, and sea salt ice cream!"

"Sounds like a plan."

And despite himself, Riku found himself looking forward to it.
