Who: Yuffie, Maxxie, and Terry
What: Collecting the emo kid. AKA: someone is upset and it's time for hugs.
When: 17th
Where: It's the CI penthouse. They're breaking in.
Warnings: Oh I am sure there will be mentions of all the horrible stuff that has happened so far. also language. Also Carnies.

[Yuffie isn't exactly the patient type. She never has been and probably never will be. But Maxxie asked her to wait, and so wait she is going to do. She's a little earlier than she said she was going to be, but that's partly the nerves. Yuffie doesn't like it when her friends are upset and that's been a very common thing lately. It's got her on edge. She's trying to breathe in patterns that are supposed to help calm her down, but all she can think about are the picks in her pocket and the fact that another one's gone.

And they still don't know what happened to any of them.

Yuffie only has her theories, and her theories aren't nice. They involve things like death and silencing people and they kind of make her sick to think about for too long. And she knows how she felt when Fetch was taken so she is pretty sure Terry is going to be in the same horrible place. Especially if he's not answering either of them. 

So, Yuffie waits outside the penthouse door with her hands jammed in her pockets and hilariously, wearing what appears to be one of Maxxie's cardigans over her usual clothes.]

[Maxxie's frown is so hurt and sad, like he's nervous Terry is going to shout and them and send them away and break up with him forever because of this.]

It's been like a day. [He still thinks they're being ridiculous, and it shows on his face.] I'm fine.

[cleartranquil]

Liar.

[The look on her face probably says it all. but she gives Maxxie a look that can clearly be read as 'can you believe this guy' before heading back into dealing with Terry. She picks up the Vodka bottle off the desk, depositing the headphones at the same time, and leans against the desk.]

If it was either of us not answering for hours and hours you'd have knocked down the door.

[Maxxie's confidence that this was definitely the Right Thing To Do is bolstered by Yuffie's attitude.]

Yeah, if you wanted us not to worry you should have texted back or something.

[traumatizing]

Well then I'm sorry for not texting back.

[Says the oldest person in the room in the huffiest teenager voice imaginable.]

[He is sorry though.]

[In her most mature act of the day Yuffie decides to take a drink from the bottle she's stolen. Honestly. Really? She cannot believe she's stuck in this argument.]

Especially since your radio silence matched up with another firing spree.

[And she takes another. Terry, you're just going to have to deal with this booze stealing jerk.]

Look, we're not going anywhere until you talk to us.

[notahobby]

Yeah.

[He tries to have some conviction but it's hard because he really doesn't want his new boyfriend to be annoyed with him. He sighs a moment later.]

Come on, Ter. I get it if you don't want to talk but you can't shut us out.

[traumatizing]

Look, I'm fine. You don't need to w--

[Sorry, he's distracted by Yuffie drinking his booze and he sighs loudly in her direction.] Can I have that back please?

[cleartranquil]

No.

[Yuffie takes another drink of the vodka, before using the bottle like a pointer.]

Or at least not if you're not gonna share.

[She sits back on the desk.]

I get it if you don't wanna talk too, doesn't mean I'm gonna be okay with it. Or let'cha get away with it.

[Maxxie sighs, looking at Yuffie with an unsure frown.]

Maybe this was a bad idea.

[traumatizing]

[He continues gesturing to Yuffie for his drink back - when you're drinking spirits alone, straight from the bottle at that, you're clearly not in the mood to have it swiped - but he's looking at Maxxie now. Expression less sullen and more tired and a little apologetic.]

I'm sorry I didn't reply, okay? I just... [Sigh.] I just wanted to be on my own for a bit.

[cleartranquil]

[ Yuffie rolls her eyes and passes the bottle back to Terry. ]

It wasn't a bad idea.

[ Said first to Maxxie and then looks at Terry. ]

I get the whole wanting to be alone thing, but alone's not exactly safe right now, ya know?

[Maxxie looks from Terry to Yuffie and back again, eyebrows still knitted together with worry.]

You don't have to talk but you've got to let us help. That's kind of part of the deal.

[traumatizing]

You can't.

[He sighs, taking a swig of the vodka and then he looks down at the floor, frowning deeply.]

I appreciate that you want to, but it's not like you're gonna un-fire Nariko.

[cleartranquil]

Yeah, but annoying stalkers like us don't let you wallow in your misery by yourself.

[And she begins making grabby hands at the bottle again. Hey, she's here for you dude, but she's pretty stressed herself and you gave her a bit of a scare.]

Besides, I'm pretty sure you haven't actually left this room since you heard.

Yeah, it's kind of gross in here, Ter...

[Maxxie looks around the room, wrinkling his nose a bit.]

We can help clean up, if you like?

[Right Yuffie?]

[traumatizing]

[He hands the bottle back after another swig, frowning at Maxxie's comments on the state of his room.]

It's not that bad.

[cleartranquil]

[Yuffie takes the bottle and is taking a drink when Terry responds, which causes her to snort and laugh.]

Ter, for you this is like...a hurricane went through.

[And then Yuffie seems to realize she was just volunteered.]

Er. Uh. Yeah. Totally. We'll help.

[Maxxie takes a look at the bottle, then hesitantly goes on.]

Well, maybe you should lie down. I'll get to work on this, yeah?

[Maxxie's version of cleaning up starts with picking up Terry's clothes and putting them away in random drawers regardless of any rhyme or reason they may have had before. The housekeeping will come by at some point anyway, once Terry has finally vacated for a little bit, but for right now he just needs a clean-looking room to start building back up on again.]

[traumatizing]

[That is... Surprisingly stressful to watch. Maxxie's putting his stuff in the wrong places and he doesn't want to be a dick to someone who just wants to help because they care about him, but this is totally wrong.]

[He opens his mouth to say something, but all that comes out is air, and he looks to Yuffie for help.]

[cleartranquil]

[Yuffie seems to be enjoying this for all of a minute, watching Terry try to not be a dick. That is, before he gives her that look. Yuffie promptly then roll her eyes dramatically and takes another drink that is way longer than is really needed I mean come on Yuffie really that is not your booze. and hops off the desk, shoving the bottle back to Ter in the process.]

Hey Max, I'll take care'a clothes you worry about getting this idiot to do something.

[Yuffie at least sort of knows where things go, mostly because she's stolen from him enough times to know. She breezes past him mostly to go collect some assortment of hangers because she knows they're there somewhere.]

Because I would bet'cha anything all he's done is drink since yesterday, ya know?

[Maxxie looks up from the extremely poor job he's doing shoving a pair of jeans into a drawer.]

Oh, alright, yeah.

[And he promptly gives up on it, probably to Terry's relief, who he approaches, still a little hesitant. He reaches out to gently take Terry's free hand, brushing his thumb over Terry's knuckles.]

We're just trying to help, okay?

[traumatizing]

[Wow. If Yuffie wasn't helping, he would have so many things to say about how he's totally done things other than drink and also he isn't an idiot. How rude. Kids these days.]

[Maxxie taking his hand gets him to relax a little though, he doesn't get up or anything, but he does look up at Maxxie. Chewing his lip a little anxiously.]

I know...

[And that's kind. He just doesn't think they can, nor does he think he really deserves it.]
