Sing A Song [Closed]

Who: Rarity and Marty
What: Rarity has insisted Greg and Meril be given some space for Valentine's Day. To that end, she's dragged Marty out of the penthouse for a night on the town. Duets ensue.
When: February 14th (backdated)
Where: The fanciest of shopping centers, not unlike this one
Warnings: None?

It has been a very tough few weeks for everyone in the band - and in the whole label, so far as Rarity knows - and she's decided they all need a break. More to the point, she's decided that Greg and Meril need some alone time for Valentine's Day; to that end, she's nearly dragged Marty out the door for an afternoon and evening on the town, bodyguards in tow (unfortunately). It isn't too terribly difficult to get into a movie (some form of comedy - light fare, after everything); it is incredibly difficult to get into any restaurant, even with their star status. Valentine's Day is busy, after all.

"Well, we need to find somewhere to go," Rarity says, perching on a bench next to the fountain. "Marty, what do you think?"

"What?" He shrugs, his face burning with embarrassment. "I think about old guys, okay?"

...because of weird stuff going on. "M-Memories I mean. Aah, I was friends with an old guy before. I think."

Behold, the most awkward smile ever.

Oh yeah, this is a lot better. The words that come from Rarity seem to match the tone of the music perfectly. Suddenly, ideas and things start to come a little easier, to the point where they flow like water. His foot taps in time with the beat, his head bobbing up and down as he watches for his cue. And when he gets it-

Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man; she brings home her pay
For love, for love

There we go. That's better, even he'll admit. Marty flashes Rarity a grin.

Their singing -now that Marty stopped screwing it up- starts to attract the attention of the shoppers nearby. WIth the music booming away and the two of them put together, it's certainly a show to be had. It's certainly different music for what you'd hear on Valentine's Day, but maybe that helps in its own way. Something to break from the sweets and the mush.

The lyrics come to him without a second thought. Marty spreads his arms, takes a breath…

Woah, we're half way there
Wo-ah! Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand, we'll make it I swear
Wo-ah! livin' on a prayer!

People gather around, some starting to dance. Some sing along. There's a good crowd forming now, swinging in time with the music. This is the part that Marty really loves to see.

Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers,
"Baby, it's okay, someday…

Everything about this is perfect. There's a crowd cheering the two of them on, proof of their existence is being made. There's definitely going to be talk about this later on, but it's not like he minds! The more publicity the merrier, in Marty's opinion.

He looks over to Rarity and gives a little nod, as if he's saying - sing this too!

Whoa, we're half way there
Wh-oa! Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Wh-oa, Livin' on a prayer
