Sing A Song [Closed]
Who: Rarity and Marty
What: Rarity has insisted Greg and Meril be given some space for Valentine's Day. To that end, she's dragged Marty out of the penthouse for a night on the town. Duets ensue.
When: February 14th (backdated)
Where: The fanciest of shopping centers, not unlike this one
Warnings: None?
It has been a very tough few weeks for everyone in the band - and in the whole label, so far as Rarity knows - and she's decided they all need a break. More to the point, she's decided that Greg and Meril need some alone time for Valentine's Day; to that end, she's nearly dragged Marty out the door for an afternoon and evening on the town, bodyguards in tow (unfortunately). It isn't too terribly difficult to get into a movie (some form of comedy - light fare, after everything); it is incredibly difficult to get into any restaurant, even with their star status. Valentine's Day is busy, after all.
"Well, we need to find somewhere to go," Rarity says, perching on a bench next to the fountain. "Marty, what do you think?"

"Well, we need to find somewhere to go," Rarity says, perching on a bench next to the fountain. "Marty, what do you think?"

Rarity sighs and stops the music. "Honestly, Marty. That's where you want to go with this?"

...because of weird stuff going on. "M-Memories I mean. Aah, I was friends with an old guy before. I think."
Behold, the most awkward smile ever.

She listens for a moment, letting the opening grow and swell, and for a moment something takes hold of her. She's not the best at improvising, but between the rise of the music and the flow of whatever has her in its sway, she's certain she can come up with something.
Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike; he's down on his luck
It's tough, so tough
They're not her usual style, but they're perfect for the music. She looks to Marty, silently cueing him to take it and run with it.

Gina works the diner all day
Working for her man; she brings home her pay
For love, for love
There we go. That's better, even he'll admit. Marty flashes Rarity a grin.

She says we gotta hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot

The lyrics come to him without a second thought. Marty spreads his arms, takes a breath…
Woah, we're half way there
Wo-ah! Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand, we'll make it I swear
Wo-ah! livin' on a prayer!

Tommy's got his six-string in hock
Now he's holding in
What he used to make it talk so tough, it's tough

Gina dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy whispers,
"Baby, it's okay, someday…

He looks over to Rarity and gives a little nod, as if he's saying - sing this too!
Whoa, we're half way there
Wh-oa! Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
Wh-oa, Livin' on a prayer
